  1. I'm being advised My Xero will be being replaced with Xero HQ. As an admin, one of my key roles is to grant user access. I like to confirm the access by sending/responding to the request with an email. In My Xero, I copy the name of the entity, and it's associated hyperlink, into my response email. When I do this in Xero HQ, there is no hyperlink associated with the entity name which means I need to navigate to the entity, grab the URL and hyperlink it manually.

  3. Currently all ITR Notices of Assessment that come to Xero Tax with a variance are marked with an orange dollar sign ($).

It would help with variance investigation and client contact if the variances were colour coded so that positive variances (those that increase a refund or decrease a payable) are in a blue $, while negative variances (those that decrease a refund or increase a payable) are in the orange $. I would suggest green, but green is often used for 'this has been assessed and confirmed' so blue is a good compromise.

This will give a visual indication…

  4. When setting up a new client in Xero, it would be great if we could select from a drop-down list the chart of accounts that we need instead of Xero automatically assigning one as we have found that it is assigning the wrong COA to the entities that we are creating. As an example - we have set up a Trust but have been given the COA for a Sole Trader. If we could have selected the Trust COA from a drop-down list, I believe it would give us a more accurate COA without the need to do so much…

  6. There is currently no ability to type a Note relating to an item in a tax return. This would be for internal purposes only and provides a very handy audit trail.

  7. My clients overpaid for BAS in previous quarter, results in CR amount on ATO portal.
It could be great if I can add this CR amount when preparing next BAS in Xero so they can offset payable/refundable amounts.

  10. Have the ability for each user to assign their location and name against invoices in XPM to automatically track across to Xero Blue.

Currently has per job / task the function to track this but it only allows 1 selection for each.

The staff have been creating invoices in XPM then have to go into Xero blue to assign the location and staff.

  11. Currently all Xero advisor certifications expire in December which is a really busy time for accountants in the UK and it's nearly impossible to get everyone to recertify at this time.

I think it would be welcomed by all accountants if this could be moved to our quieter season in February/March and I think as a result a lot more people would recertify.

  13. In a shareholders' resolution template e.g., to appoint new directors you currently cannot get rid of the line that says "For the month ended 30 September 2022" or "For the year ended 31 March 2022". I actually want to eliminate that entire line as the date is at the bottom with the signatures or at least have the ability to only have one day at the top of the report.

  14. Hubdoc's integration with Xero can be great when it enables automatic reconciliation of an invoice with accounts in Xero. However, if any portion of an invoice is allocated to an account in Xero that has a 0% tax rate, Publishing to Xero fails with the error message "Validation Err. Line item tax amounts do not total to document tax amount".

An example of where this occurs is where 50% of a transaction is deemed a business expense, while 50% of the transaction has a private use component, where the private use component is treated as personal drawings, e.g., the business…

  15. Keyboard shortcuts in Xero Practice Manager

Currently only have a shortcut for search (forward slash) in XPM, would like more shortcuts (like there are in Blue Xero) - eg:
    Dashboard / Clients / Jobs / Tax / Business / Reports tabs.

  16. Now that the Trust requirements have changed, is it possible to update the Client Relationships report. Accountants now have to provide the DOB and IRD numbers for the Trustees, Settlors and Beneficiaries. Currently, if I add the [client] tax number field and the [client] Date of Birth field, I get these fields for the original trust only, I need to get the [client relationship] tax number and DOB please.

Hi Debbie, the 'waiting approval' report only contains unapproved letters. And the field you've references would only contain payments 'since approval' so even if included, would always be 0.00.

Could you share a little detail of any underlying pain point you're looking for this idea to help you solve? It'd help in sharing back with the team and considering how this could be tackled. Thanks!

  20. XPM Reports - Tax Return
Create/ generate a single Tax Return Report on industry codes which includes: SMSF, Individuals, Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts etc.

Currently we can only create separate reports for:
    - Individuals and Sole Traders
    - Companies
