Dashboard - Ability to set default dashboard for all users within the organisation
When customising the homepage view, it would be helpful to have the option to set that customised layout as the default view for all users.
This would make sure everyone logging into the file sees the same key information and widgets to keep everyone aligned
11 votesThanks for sharing this here. Currently the reason for this functionality to not exist is because the home page for all users may not appear the same. In particular, the users with the same permission roles will get the same view.
We've moved this idea to gain more support from the community. You can share this with your peers and colleagues so they can add their vote onto it as well!

Homepage - Add a "Tax and Reporting" quick-link widget to the Dashboard
New layout is great now I've got used to it. I do miss the Tax and Reporting box where I had quick links to useful items such as VAT return, CIS return. Could you add this as an optional widget on the new dashboard please? Thanks.
9 votesHi Andrea, appreciate your sharing on how having a “Tax and Reporting” shortcut on the dashboard would make accessing tax returns and key reports quicker and simpler. Navigating through multiple menus can slow things down, especially when deadlines are looming.
In the meantime, you can access your VAT return directly from the Tax menu on the navigation bar for quicker access.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much this shortcut could help make compliance tasks faster and more efficient.

Homepage - Compact table-view widget for bank accounts
Please add a widget on the homepage that displays the bank accounts in a simple table format, including the account name, balance, and transactions that need reconciliation.
Overall, the new layout takes up too much space, making it difficult to fit essential information on a screen.
A more compact view without unnecessary elements would be appreciated.
And also the optin to disable popup adverts!

Homepage - Add a Tracking Categories widget with recent amounts assigned
Add a widget for tracking categories with current and prior month expenses against each or even the top 5 of each category.
make the hope page printable to pdf and also for the user to be able to present it to a client or board.

Minimal mode option for bookkeeping
I would like to share feedback regarding the new homepage layout.
While I appreciate that updates aim to improve functionality and modernise the interface, I experienced the new layout as visually overwhelming and cognitively heavier than the previous version.
Some specific observations:
Increased visual amplitude
The larger card sizes, expanded whitespace, and increased typography scale make the dashboard feel more dominant and “loud” compared to the previous compact layout.Greater visual emphasis on charts
The taller and more prominent graphs draw strong attention, even when I simply want to access operational data quickly. Profit & Loss Report Widget on New Home Page
Can you restore the "Month to Date" or "Current Month" for the Profit / Loss widget. It is available on the mobile app and was on the old layout. Currently we only have the "previous month" as an option for month.
Having the month available helps keep sales team up to date with targets without having to go through the extra steps of generating the report via the menu.

Homepage | Invoices owed to you widget - Move new invoice button to top
The "Invoices owed to you" widget NEEDS to have the "new invoice" button on top as before. What do we do with XERO besides accounting? Create invoices, and having to scroll down this widget is useless as ...... (fill in the blank). It's a very simple display change.

This is something we're monitoring feedback of and would be good to hear from others on your idea here that'd also appreciate this option further up the widget.
As another simple way of creating an invoice there's the keyboard shortcut '/i' that'll open Search with an option to create 'New invoice'.

Homepage | Bills to pay - Ability to drag & drop files for bills
Provide a widget where you can drop any bill, expense or invoice, right on the homepage for Xero to analyse.
7 votesHi Tom and John, not a direct drag & drop to a widget on the homepage, however from the 'Bills to pay' widget you can click Add bill > Upload bills which will direct you to Bills and pre-open the upload modal. 🙂
This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, but will get a feel of the interest from the community for the idea here.
It'd be good to track interest in this feature for Bills and Expenses separately as widget enhancements would typically be reviewed individually. I've created a new idea for this in Expenses and added you both to this for any updates.

Change Bank Accounts Page
If you insist on breaking the homepage with this new downgrade, please change the Bank Accounts page to show bank accounts widgets like the old dashboard in sortable columns (NOT SEQUENTIAL SCREEN!), with charts.

Homepage - Show bank feed refresh/loading status
When refreshing the bank feed we used to get a "loading" type of notification on the old layout on the homepage when it was actively refreshing. Now nothing seems to be showing but when I switch back to the old layout I can see that it's "loading" (or if I click on the bank itself).
It's helpful to know if the feeds is "thinking" or not so I don't prematurely bug the client to fix on their end. And an overview of all the accounts that are loading is nice instead of having to click on each one. Thanks!
7 votesHi everyone, it does sound like a bank feed status indicator would be a really helpful addition, giving you a quick sense of whether your imported statement lines are fully up-to-date or still processing.
We understand how important it is to have that confirmation—without a clear visual cue, it can be hard to tell if the feed is still loading, has completed, or if something has gone wrong. Knowing the current status at a glance helps you trust the numbers and act quickly if there’s an issue.
As such, we've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest in making bank feed status more visible on the homepage. It would be great to hear from the community and understand how this could make a difference for everyday workflows.

Homepage - Customise colour of widgets
Colour options for bank accounts & credit cards so they are easily identifiable. i.e my client uses different banks with different feeds, would be great to have some colours.

Create a widget to show just Draft Invoices so we can quickly see what our current Work In Progress is
Add a Widget to show just Draft Invoices. We send customers a quote and when they accept and send us a Purchase Order, we copy the Quote to an Invoice, which is then in Draft Status. Once we have prepared the order and are ready to ship, we Approve the Invoice, ship and then send the Invoice to the customer. Using this system, the list of Draft Invoices is effectively our 'Work In Progress' list i.e. these are all the invoices/orders we are currently working on fulfilling. Cash In & Cash Out (Widget)
The Cash In & Cash Out tab could benefit from the ability to determine if the cash in OR cash out is from P&L items or Balance Sheet Items.
For instance if a large cash injection occurred from the director you'd have a large cash in, which wouldnt match the profit. In contrast, a payment of liabilities for tax/gst may impact cash flow and skew the results for cash out.

A widget for the Files section that you can drag/drop into without having to click top left, then Files.

Bank Account Font - Balance Difference and Reconciled
The font is too fine and hard to read. The font size of 'balance difference', 'reconciled' etc is a bit too small

Homepage - Ability to add attachments to the task widget
A widget or chatbox where you can leave comments for accountant or business owner?
Ability to strikeoff and clear the comments/tasks. Ability to add attachments like screenshots or even videos will be a great feature for this widget.
This widget can sit on dashboard.

Homepage | Tasks - Bills due to be paid warning/reminder
In the tasks, it should report on the bills that are due to be paid in x period - whether that be a week or fortnight - user should be able to set it based on frequency of using the file.
This would act as a prompt to ensure payment is made.
In addition, there has not been a solution to recording a credit card statement due for payment. Being able to record the amount due and due date would really help! Fixing this would also be extremely useful
