Homepage - Bank balance widget chart
The new homepage layout removed the 6-month historic bank account balance chart, so now we're only left with a 1-month view in the bank accounts tab.
Can you consider having an option to display the balance history chart on the home page widget once again, or make the chart on the bank accounts tab configurable to display the previous 1/3/6/12 months? It might also be worth considering an option to project the next 1 month balance based upon known income and expenses.
Hi there!
Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback on the bank balance charts.
I’ve categorized this as Gaining Support. While we don't roll back to previous versions of the homepage, I’ve refined your idea to focus on making the balance charts configurable (1, 3, 6, or 12 months).
This covers your need for historical data while allowing for future flexibility.
Since our forum works best with one idea per post, I've focused on the chart visibility first. I’d recommend raising the "balance projection" as a separate suggestion so it can be voted on individually!

I would like to raise a concern regarding the bank balance graph that previously displayed whether an account was in overdraft and clearly showed how the balance increased or decreased over time.
At the moment, this graph no longer appears to be visible in the bank account view. Since its removal (or change), it has become much more difficult to quickly assess the cash position and identify negative balance trends.
This feature was particularly important for one of my clients who is currently in overdraft. Being able to visually track when the account drops below zero and monitor fluctuations over time is essential for managing cash flow, planning payments, and avoiding additional bank charges. The graphical overview provided an immediate and clear picture that reports alone do not fully replace.
Could you please clarify whether this feature has been removed, relocated, or disabled? If possible, I would strongly encourage you to consider restoring it, as it was a very practical and valuable tool for day-to-day financial monitoring.

In the old dashboard there was a graph for each account, to show the balance (see uploaded image). Can we have the option to show the graph? I relied on it for my VISA bill, which cannot be connected by bank feed, and it gave me an at-a-glance indication of where I was at in the billing cycle.

The graph is the first thing I look at in the morning. Also, We have 8 bank accounts, a sum total of each bank account would be very beneficial for me, I have to run a report to get this information or manually add the widgets together.

It is a real pain to visually see our account health now!

Put the graph back! How can making widgets bigger to show less information be an upgrade? It is a real pain to visually see our account health now!

In the old layout each bank account widget had a balance graph for the past 30 days. I miss this already, so adding it back in an option would be very useful.

The old bank account widgets have a line chart of the historic balance. This is useful. Your new one does not. Why?
In fact, there is LITERALLY nothing new on ANY of these widgets, except they are all uglier, busier, more confusing, harder to read and have less data. GOOD JOB!

I like the New layout but do miss the graph that was on the old style home page for the accounts. Is this possible to add back on

Bring back graphs on the bank accounts (Maybe opt in /opt out to have them displayed) its too busy a dashboard with just the summaries! We have a dozen feeds displaying and its pretty clunky to view. Thanks!

We're now missing the graph that showed the account balance on our credit cards, I found this was quite useful as it was a clear visual showing if the card was in the negative credit and due to be balanced. Especially with AMEX as the way they prescribe/depict negative and positive account balances is quite confusing

I liked the line graph on the bank balance on the homepage. It allowed me to easily see the position of the bank this month verses last month

can we set the accounts page as our home page - it has the graph that is more useful now than the actual homepage.
would be good if it showed more than 30 days - but even 30 days is more use than a stark page that shows no trends. -

I agree, The widget uses the same space but provides NO information. Bring back a 1 month/3 month/ 6 month bank history. So important when managing mulitiple bank accounts

As well as not showing so much data as it used to (as per comment from Andrew G), it is not easy to see at a glance what each widget represents.
Having the graph would differentiate bank feeds from each other and from other types of data, making it much easier to see what you're looking at.

Bring back the six month graph in the Bank Account list screen. I regularly use this to hover over the graph and see my credit card balance over time. I can no longer do this. Why is Xero removing features?

What's annoying is that the new homepage Bank Account widget uses roughly the same amount of space as the old widget, yet it displays significantly less information with the removal of the graph.
It's also broken. The other day, for me, it was showing the account as having the green tick and saying "reconciled" even though the balances were different and transactions still needed to fully reconciled. The old widget always would have shown that review/actions are needed.
I also preferred the style of the old pop-up menu which clearly listed options under headings - find, new, reconcile, feeds. When I was new to Xero this was much more "newbie friendly". The new pop-up menu just lists everything in a single list and has some of the options removed.

It's taken me w hile to work out what I was missing, as only some of my orgs have moved to the new layout. The dashboard is so white & difficult for me to see. THis morning I took the time to flick between orgs to work out why this new layout was annoying me. The balance movement graph is hte biggest difference. Beside giving some contrast on the page, the trend graph allows you to quickly see the movemen tin a bank account. At a glance you can see if the balance has been eroding or improving. Has there been a quick spike or drop? If so, you can jump in to have a look. Almost every time I"m with a cleint, that's the first thing I comment on in their file the trend in the bank that I can see immeidiatlye. Until I saw this "idea request" above, I had no idea that the graphs were still there, but only under the "bank accounts" menu. I rarely go to the menu item - because all you need for active bank accounts is on the dashboard. Please bring back the graphs on the dashboard widgets.
