  1. The only option is for the Homepage - but my suggestion is for the whole system.

    Having negative values in brackets and coloured RED - easier to see at a glance. To me that should be a basic feature. Extending that to reports also so there is less filtering etc.

  2. When I add the "expenses to review" widget to the homepage, this shows the expenses that are needing approval, and how much is to be paid.

    At the moment I have all my expenses reviewed, and some that now need payment. Why is this information also not replicated in the "Tasks" widget?

    What is the point of a "Tasks" widget if it doesn't summarise all the needed actions highlighted across all the selected/displayed widgets? At the moment the listed tasks appear to only summarise a few widgets (and even then regardless of whether those widgets are selected to be shown…

  3. Hi we really need the homepage Bills widget to display bills due for payment TODAY.

    We receive a lot of bills and we pay them on the due date.

    Currently it is not easy to find bills due today among all the bills awaiting payment.

    The widget displays overdue bills, it could easily show shows due today so we can easily display and pay them.

    Appreciate your feedback, and explaining how viewing bills due today from the homepage would help your business, Rick.

    Right now we're watching all feedback we're getting about the new Homepage closely. We'll get a sense of the community interest for this here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

  4. There should be a widget that shows current bank balance, that includes future payments. The current one only shows bank statement balance, and balance in Xero that only shows up to the current date. But when paying bills, it's nice to know the current balance after other future payments to have a full idea of cash flow available. This widget should then also follow through to the bills pages so I can pay bills and see my balance in real-time to make better plans of which and when bills should be paid.

  5. Ability to choose favourite apps and add them either to the top menu bar or the homepage. It will turn 2 clicks into 1 click which seems picky but when launching hubdoc often it would really speed things up

    Thanks for sharing, Andrew. Good to know the use you'd find in being able to add an app to your homepage directly for ease of access.

    Lets get a wider sense of the interest in this from community here. I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

    Thanks for your idea here, Sergii. Really good to hear what our customers would find most useful to get a visual of from the homepage.

    We're beginning to track the interest for an Inventory widget that'd show low stocks from your idea here and I'll share if there are any updates.

  7. Would love a widget that shows the leave requests sorted by closest leave date to later leave dates with a filter option to adjust to be able to show just pending approval, just approved or all.

    Another widget that would be helpful is a summary of timesheets submitted for the current pay period/ next due pay run.

    Hi Tamara, thanks for sharing this suggestion. Having a Timesheet Summary widget available directly on the dashboard sounds like it could make it much easier to keep an eye on submitted hours and stay on top of approvals without needing to navigate into Payroll.

    To make sure we can track interest clearly for each request, we keep ideas to one feature per post. Since you also mentioned employee leave requests, I’ve located an existing idea for a Leave Request widget and added your support there so it can continue to gather votes and feedback.

    I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can focus on the Timesheet Summary idea here and track how helpful others would find having this visibility on their dashboard.

  8. Filter out expense claims from Bills Awaiting Payment

    I input my own money occasionally into the business & don't require paying back, so the expense claim is left "open" & shows up on Bills awaiting payment - thus confusing the amount owing to Bills I have outstanding.

  9. Shortcut to add recurring invoice via a simple UX - just add a drop down next to the 'New invoice' button. Similar to what you already have in the Sales overview page.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea! We can see how having a “Create Repeating Invoice” shortcut right on the dashboard would make managing recurring invoicing faster and more seamless.

    Currently, you navigate through the Invoices menu to reach the Repeating tab, which adds extra steps. I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so our product teams can track interest and understand how much this shortcut could help streamline regular invoicing.

  10. It would be great if the number of billable expenses - outstanding (as per the report of the same name) could be included in the tasks widget - ie expenses to be oncharged. Currently I have to run the report to check if there are any oncharges to complete, but it would be great if I could just see the number on the list. We use this feature for almost all of the organisations we look after (20+) and it would save time and ensure we are oncharging more promptly.

We're taking feedback about this widget on board and considering what additional items would be most useful to customers. I'll be sure to share any updates if there is progress for adding billable expenses to this view.

  11. VISUAL: Adaptive layout & zoom to fit?

    I use my widescreen monitor to use two windows side-by-side, but then the Xero window has a lot of negative space around the tabs (see image) and the only way I can find to make this larger is to zoom in the browser, but that makes all the browser items zoomed, which I don't want. If I enlarge the Xero tab, the layout adjusts to a sweet spot, but that also doesn't fit nicely on full screen, and I end up clicking between things more than is efficient, so it should ideally sit…

    Thanks for your feedback, Paul. Good to hear the different details that our customers would find most helpful at a glance. While we don't have plans for adding a recently paid bills widget like the invoices one just at this time we'll start to track interest in this here and I'll update you if there's any news.

  14. Widget - Recent Invoice Payments.

    Show payment value from customer rather than individual invoices. Recent Payment Received would be more helpful than 5 x £10 from Bloggs & Co

    Hi Sharon, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that seeing payments received from customers, rather than individual invoices, would make it much easier to track cash flow and acknowledge payments at a glance

    At the moment, you can use the Bank Reconciliation summary or check invoice History and Notes, but a dedicated homepage widget with aggregated payment values would be more convenient. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams.

    Hi Geoff, thanks for the suggestion. We understand that seeing the “Awaiting Approval” dollar value only at the bottom of the “Bills to Pay” widget can make it harder to spot at a glance. Moving this figure to the top and using a larger font would make it much easier to track upcoming cash requirements and make faster financial decisions.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams how improving visibility on the dashboard could help you stay on top of accounts payable.

  16. At the moment if not all tasks have been completed in a work day, opening up the browser window again from where you left off will log you out. When you log in again, you are diverted to the homepage with no way of clicking back to go back to the page you were on. This is a massive waste of time, please allow us to restore our tabs which had things like custom reports and other things we started working on.

    Hi everyone, we understand that being sent back to the homepage after a session timeout can interrupt your workflow, especially when you’re in the middle of a specific report or transaction. It can be a bit inconvenient to lose your place and have to navigate back, and we completely get how that affects your productivity.

    Some community members have mentioned ways to work around this, like keeping an eye on the session timeout or using browser bookmarks for deep links. At the same time, we agree that a smoother experience that automatically returns you to your last page would be really helpful.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this “return to page” functionality could save you time and make your workflow easier.

    We don't have immediate plans for this but are considering improvements to the tasks widget so will be sure to share if there are updates on this.

  19. Looking at the new interface at https://www.xero-reimagined-nav-hp.com/ the widgets fly in from the side, and the charts all animate from zero to their full value. I have an accessibility requirement to have reduced motion, and have selected this option on my computer which the new Xero website is ignoring. Websites can use this selection as shown in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/@media/prefers-reduced-motion and https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Techniques/css/C39. Can you please implement the best practice for accessibility, and ensure all users can comfortably use your updated website by removing unnecessary animation when requested with the reduce motion option?   20. have an optional widget where you can set up your own quick ratio calculation, so you can see if you are trading insolvent or not, at a glance. The idea would be to tick off the accounts in the chart of accounts that are relevant e.g. bank accs, inventory, debtors, payables... but make the choices entirely the choice of the user

    We can see the value in having an optional way to monitor short-term solvency at a glance, whether through a custom quick ratio widget or the ability to run a cash flow report. The flexibility to choose which accounts are included would make this more relevant for different businesses and reporting preferences.
