  1. Add a net cash movement line (cash in minus cash out) overlaid on the Cash In & Out widget.

    This would let business owners instantly see whether cash is actually building or eroding over time, without running reports or exporting data.

    A net cash overlay (or toggle) would make the dashboard far more useful for real-world cashflow decision-making.

    Hi team, with Xero Analytics you'll be able to use the Cash flow manager to get useful predictions of your businesses financial overview, cash in and cash out.

    Right now, we're in the process of also developing a widget that can surface some of this information to you directly from the homepage. I'll return to share once this is live. 🙂

  2. At a glance, a running total of VAT and Corporation tax due. As a small business, this would be very helpful for planning. Crunch Accounting had this on their homepage and it is the only thing i miss about their very clunky system!

  3. P&L Historical Comparison Widget - Being able to see either as a line graph or table, how this year, quarter, month, etc compares with previous periods. Top level numbers like on the mobile app, but with variance or % increase/decrease

  4. Add a widget for tracking categories with current and prior month expenses against each or even the top 5 of each category.

    make the hope page printable to pdf and also for the user to be able to present it to a client or board.

  5. Customisation of widget request, ie Add New Widget >> Select certain costs >> Select certain incomes. Show chart month by month.

    Right now, the new Xero homepage doesn’t support creating your own fully custom widgets. You can customise which of the existing widgets you see, change their order and (for some widgets) adjust their size, but there isn’t a way to build and plug in a brand‑new widget type yet.


    We have moved this to Gaining support, while we can’t promise if or when custom widgets will be available, votes and comments on this idea are really valuable, so please keep adding any specific examples of what you’d like a custom widget to do. That kind of detail really helps our product team when they’re exploring what to build next.

  6. I wanted to share some thoughts on the latest Xero homepage redesign after seeing a comment that really resonated with me about how much space the widgets are now taking up and how much more cluttered it is now. From a web design point of view, it’s just not intuitive, it’s cluttered and feels way too full, especially compared to the previous version where the widgets sat nicely in the centre and only took up maybe 50% of the page.

    I genuinely believe the homepage experience could be dramatically improved with just a few changes:

    Hi team, thank you for sharing back with us on the new homepage here.

    Right now we are working on developing some of the widgets to allow more control of the view and information you see. As an example we are developing the Invoices owed to you and Bill to pay widgets to provide the ability to resize and change the information that is shown.

    Hi Terry, it's great to hear your idea on how to make the dashboard work harder for you! Having your key reports front and center would make it more accessible.

    Right now, jumping into the full reports menu multiple times a day can feel a bit repetitive, especially when you rely on certain custom reports.

    For now, you can use the “Starring” feature in the Reports center. Star your favourites and they’ll appear at the top of the Reporting menu for quicker access. Some users also find it handy to bookmark report URLs in their browser for instant access.

    This idea is now Gaining Support, so the product team can see how much interest there is in more dashboard customisation.

  8. I would rather have a list of outstanding invoices (names and amounts) on the dashboard instead of a graph with the totals owed. (same layout as the recently paid invoices list which i have removed completely as its not necessary)

    Thanks for he feedback here, team. Atm we don't have any plans for surfacing your outstanding invoices as a list within the widget, however we appreciate feedback we've received around the graph and our team are working on some sizing updates that would enable you to remove the graph on both the Invoices owed to you and Bills to pay widgets. You can stay updated on this work through the idea here.

    Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We appreciate your suggestion for a Files widget on the dashboard with drag and drop functionality.

    The community team has reviewed this and moved it to Gaining support, which means it's now open for community votes and comments.


  10. The Cash In & Cash Out tab could benefit from the ability to determine if the cash in OR cash out is from P&L items or Balance Sheet Items.

    For instance if a large cash injection occurred from the director you'd have a large cash in, which wouldnt match the profit. In contrast, a payment of liabilities for tax/gst may impact cash flow and skew the results for cash out.

    The suggestion would be for a stacked/filtered view on the IN and the OUT bars, to either display the stacked cash in (on top of each other), for P&L and…

    We don't have any plans of this nature just atm, but will be keeping a close eye on the appetite of this here and I'll share if there are any updates.

    Hi Ian, thanks for your feedback. We don't have plans to enable the ability to add quick access options directly to the homepage but we'll see the support your idea gets here in community.

    For the time being, you may find the keyboard shortcuts that are available handy in quickly navigating where you need. 🙂

  12. Cash in and out is very helpful, however, any organisation that offers lead time and credit terms is often more focused on sales rather than income. There is no month to date, year to date sales widigit.

    I get that the home page can't be all things to all people, but in part you are trying to make it a KPI dashboard without fully facilitating the needs of many.

    Appreciate the feedback here, team. As mentioned by some there is the Chart of Accounts watchlist that will help you get a quick snap of your sales account however appreciate wanting a separate widget for this and we'll continue to track interest this idea grows. I'll be sure to update if there are any plans made.

    Our product teams are staying close to what our customers are sharing back through the forums here, and we will share if there are any updates around widgets that would getting a view of tracking assignments, here.

  14. Hi, on the new dashboard, I don't get or can't see an option for staff leave/holiday requests. It doesn't come up on the task lists either. I feel this might be an oversight, but this could easily be missed.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestion—it’s clear that having a Leave Requests widget on the dashboard would make it much easier to see upcoming time off at a glance. We can see how this quick visibility would help managers plan staffing and stay on top of pay runs without extra navigation.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much value a dedicated homepage summary would bring to managers and business owners.

    Hi Tom and John, not a direct drag & drop to a widget on the homepage, however from the 'Bills to pay' widget you can click Add bill > Upload bills which will direct you to Bills and pre-open the upload modal. 🙂

    This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, but will get a feel of the interest from the community for the idea here.

    It'd be good to track interest in this feature for Bills and Expenses separately as widget enhancements would typically be reviewed individually. I've created a new idea for this in Expenses and added you both to this for any updates.

  16. Create a "low bandwidth" version this is now so much slower than the old page on slow internet connections 271 resource requests is just stupid for a home page and 1=nearly 50mb of resources? not everyone has fiber to the building and a 250mb/s connection.

    Hi Geoffery, thanks for sharing this! We can see how a smoother experience on slower connections would make working in Xero more seamless, especially when you’re remote or have limited internet.

    Right now, using the Xero mobile app for lighter tasks or clearing your browser cache can help speed things up, but we know a dedicated low-bandwidth mode would make day-to-day work even easier.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much of a difference this would make.

  17. Task List - Add "Refresh/Renew Bank Feed" warnings to the task list (limited to banks shown on the dashboard to prevent unnecessary warnings on old accounts). The task list is incredibly useful and for my own Homepage, I have moved the bank accounts to below the rest of the tables to try to maximise the usefulness of the homepage. This makes the warnings less visible.

    Understand how having notifications for bank feed refreshes added to the Task list could be helpful, and great to hear you find this widget useful. 🙂

    Our product teams are taking on board all feedback around the new homepage and I'll be sure to share if there are any plans made to add this, here.

  18. The new layout is harder to follow multiple bank accounts and its says "reconciled" when you still have items to reconcile which is confusing. You need to look for the green reconcile button and ignore the word reconciled.

    Thanks for the feedback here, team. We don't have any plans for enabling the ability to return to a default / initial state of the homepage, for now we'll keep a watchful eye on the support in this idea, here.

    However we have a somewhat related idea that our product teams do intend on exploring further around providing template or view options to help users with basic layouts that you may be interested in joining too.

  20. Today I learned with shock that the new dashboard only supports 50 bank accounts for display. Unfortunately, we have more accounts which on the new dashboard layout will not be shown. That is not good for our organisation. The workaround via the "list of accounts" is cumbersome and definitely not an improvement.

    If more than 50 bank accounts cannot be displayed on the dashboard or "Home" page, would it be possible to have FOLDERS on the dashboard like folders on a PC desktop or on a smartphone? Then I could allocate around 10 bank accounts into one folder according to…
