  1. In Tax Manager, Option to multiselect tax forms and lodge button. Similar to the Old tax returns window. It will be nice to have a column showing outcome for the form such as $$$ payable or Refundable. This will be more efficient.

  2. In the old XPM when removing a client’s GST registration you could delete the GST registration with one tick and save. In the new XPM when you untick ‘include GST information’, the GST information greys out and it lets you save but this does not remove the GST registration information. You have to clear the other fields first, then untick ‘include GST information’ and save. Why can’t you just untick ‘include GST information’ and it be removed from view on the client information screen? Or at least be given a warning that the change you’ve made isn’t correct when you…

    Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback about the GST workflow in XPM.


    I can certainly see how the extra steps of clearing fields manually feel like a step backward from the previous experience, especially when you're managing multiple client updates.


    Currently, the new XPM interface requires those fields to be emptied before the section can be fully "deactivated" from the client summary. If you find the information is still showing after you've unticked the box, it’s usually because those greyed-out fields still contain data that Xero is trying to preserve.

  3. Enter Time - you have to put in start time. It should default to your last time entry like it does under view timesheets.

  4. The list of jobs at a client level and Group level no longer displays the start date. Only due date is showing.
    This functionality was available before. I am not sure why it was omitted. Helps team members to review and prioritise jobs for a Group based on the start date when the job was received or has been scheduled to start.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the engagement on this idea. Our team understand the value this feature would bring, and we're happy to share that this is currently In Development.

    In Australia, a Tax Returns widget is already available on the homepage, with further improvements planned to redirect users into Tax Manager instead of the Returns page.

    For New Zealand region, we’re currently building this functionality for our NZ partners.

    We’ll share further updates as the work progresses.

  6. When you search for a client with client name, old xpm it used to search for anyone with similar name, now it has to be exact eg John James Jones, if you searched John Jones, it would come up, now it won't and you have to type John James Jones for it to appear. If you type John it will come up but what happens when you have 50 Johns to scroll through??? Please fix.

    Thanks for feeding back on the Client search, Carey. The way that search works for the new client list experience is a little different to the older experience, and partial matching is not a feature with this new search.

    While it's not in our roadmap atm, our team are keen to stay close the support this idea receives and will consider in future planning. I'll share if there are any updates here.

  7. It would be helpful to add additional filters to the jobs on the dashboard so that you could filter out certain job states and see true workflow for jobs that are due at that point in time.

  8. For boxes that we are typing into, we need to expand the box, so we can see the full view, not a scrolling box that cuts information off. In the normal XPM, you can grasp the corner and expand it out. Please bring this back.

    Hi Glennis, after looking into this further, it sounds like this relates to the Notes field within a client’s record.

    At the moment, the field expands as you type, but after several lines it stops expanding and instead introduces a scroll bar. This means reviewing and updating notes involves additional scrolling, particularly when working with a lengthy note.

    This idea has now been updated to Gaining Support, and we’d encourage others in the community to share their thoughts, use cases, or vote if this would be valuable for them too. Thanks again for starting the conversation, your input helps shape future improvements.

  9. "Ready to Start" tax returns should not show up in existing jobs. We have all these tax returns that are showing up in Job that are not related to the client, Individual Tax Return showing up under an Activity Statement Job for a company that is completely unrelated. If they tax returns placeholder is going be added it should only appear under the client tax return tab, not in an existing Job. And there should be away to turn it off.

  10. In the current/old XPM, the system would let you know on the home page if there was a filing error on a tax return. This meant you were able to see and sort this quickly. Can we please have a Taxes widget which includes a notification when there is an error in a tax return marked as signed (so we can fix things asap).

    Hi team, thanks for continuing to engage, and share the importance of easily viewing tax filing errors from the Xero Partner Homepage with us here.

    Right now, for AU Practices there are a few tax widgets available that those with View tax return permissions will be able to view.

    Both Activity Statements, and Income tax returns widgets will show returns with lodgment errors.

    We're also in the process of developing tax widgets for NZ practices and I'll be sure to update you with more on this once it's ready 😊

  11. If the IRD number is not populated then this field disappears from the information screen when viewing a client's details. Can the field please remain on the screen even if left empty.

  12. Getting people's names correct is table stakes.

    My name has an accent on the e - Rémi - but it comes up on XPH as "Rémi". I would not want my staff's names, or client names, appearing amiss. Not sure if this would then flow through to invoices.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your engagement on this idea! We completely understand why it matters, especially for our global Partners. A person’s name is a big part of who they are, and having to simplify or change it just to fit into a software field can be frustrating and confusing.

    I understand the desire for another update and am pleased to share that this is something our product teams will be addressing and are working on developing within the new unified client experience.

  14. Clients, jobs, contacts etc should be clickable in all areas of XPM. Im in a job, and the client is displayed to the right, I can't click it to go to the client record. Likewise, on timesheets, clients and jobs should be clickable. This saves a large amount of time.

  15. Time summary on home page. It would be great if we could have a seven day view on the main page as not all work is completed within traditional business hours.

    I was sure that it showed me seven days last week but I am wondering if this updates if there are weekend entries?

    Appreciate your feedback, Kerry. Currently the time summary widget is based around capacity which is only Mon-Fri. However, our product team are keen to get a better sense of interest around this and will be keeping a watchful eye on the support in this idea.

  16. A function to create tasks and recurring tasks to show on your dashboard, much like Google Tasks. A basic To-Do list that shows recurring tasks that you need to complete every month for each client. This links in with XPM as a CRM system.

  17. It would be AMAZING if we could have some useful management reports, like monthly Team Performance by staff member with KPI data (write offs $, write off %, ROI, Average charge rate, total invoiced, closing WIP) and Practice Performance over the same metrics :)

    Also some dashboard widgets that show these metrics personal to the user on their home page.

  20. Job Notifications - new notifications do not open up until you open an existing job (so we do not know that they are even there until you open the job)..Suggest Job Notifications should open when entering Job Manager (i.e. One level up).
