  1. We have multiple stripe accounts that we need to connect. It would be great to be able to add more than one strip payment processor that connects to two separate stripe IDs.

  2. Reducing clicks:
    When applying a payment to a bill or an invoice, I usually want to attach a source document (image of check, confirmation of our POS system, etc.). Right now I cannot do it while applying the payment. Right now (in 'old' invoicing/bill) I have to instead apply the payment, find myself in the accounts transaction overview, go back to invoice, click on the payment I just applied and then I have to option of uploading/attaching a document. Very inconvenient.

    Hi community, thanks for your input for the idea here. While we're in the process of releasing an update for applying payments to an invoice we want to be upfront here that this does not involve being able to attach a file when making a payment, from the invoice.

    Once a payment is applied, you can click within the banner to 'View invoice' then on the payment link within the invoice where you can attach a file directly within the payment transaction.

    We will continue to keep a track and share if there are any plans made around this idea, here.

  3. The Pay Now option is not visible on the online page of an invoice when the currency of the invoice does not match the organisation's default currency. This is especially annoying when Payment Services such as Stripe are set-up as they can easily process multiple currencies.

    Moreover, as it is not (or poorly) documented that Payment Services are not usable when using a foreign currency, it just seems to be a bug. I contacted support who responded with the following:

  4. How many times have we received a payment from a customer and not known which invoices they have paid? Or followed up an outstanding invoice that they have listed as paid in their system?

    It would be great to have a button to request remittance advice from a customer for a particular deposit. We have a list of customers for many of our clients where we manually send these requests via email. It is time-consuming and inefficient, though it would be great to have the automation of sending the request straight out of Xero from the Bank Rec screen!

    Appreciate no direct feature for this at present, Grace and we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this here. In the meantime, perhaps including the request in the invoice Terms and Conditions could be a good indicator that this is something you request of your customers when sending the invoice or reminders?

  6. Keep the CIS Labour Income Deduction line at the bottom of the new invoice format.

  7. In New Invoicing can the Date field be left blank when in draft status as per previously. Regularly I create draft invoices and want to continue to be able to leave the date blank or to put tentative dates in before moving forwards int he process.

  8. Currently, to invoice from a quote = a standard invoice. There needs to be an option to create an repeating invoice also. This is consistent with the request to change a standard invoice into a repeating invoice also.

  9. Why is it that customers address details are not shown on the invoice and quotation listings. this is causing time issue problems
    These were shown in the classic view in invoices but not in quotations
    I’m my mind this is a retrograde step and needs reviewing

    Hi all, appreciate the interest around this. Being able to view a contact's address would be built separately for invoices and quotes. 

    We have an existing idea for this in new invoicing that you may like to add your vote and join across here - you'll see this is something we're actively working on. 

    I'll slightly adjust the title of your idea here to reflect the Quote side of things and we can keep you updated if there's any change for this. Thanks

  10. The email template has changed which accompanies the invoice to the customer. We have a legal name plus a trading as name which people know us by. Currently the legal name is showing up boldly at the top of the email which it didn't before. We would like the trading name to be in this place so as not to cause confusion to our customers, or have the ability to remove it entirely as it has the logo there displaying the correct name.

    Hi community, we really appreciate your feedback on this and hearing why you'd like to be able to change the organisation's name that's shown when sending invoices from Xero.

    This is on our teams radar, and is something they may look into longer term however we want to be open that it's not in the current roadmap.

    We'll continue to track and keep across the interest from our community, and if there's any news to share we'll update you on this, here.

  11. Please move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. When you have an invoice with 30-50 items and then have to scroll back up to save it adds to the pressure of getting things done.

    Or Better still

    Leave the old there until you've got it together and your Paid subscribers are happy.

  12. Send a single Receipt for multiple invoices which will help the customers who are expecting an annual Tax receipt for the payments made for the reporting financial year.

  14. Quote Titles should show up in the reporting so that clients can see which projects they are looking at. This is much different than a reference which is typically a job or project number that the client needs reference to.

  15. The new invoicing alerts you to a credit on a customer's account if you APPROVE an invoice but if you APPROVE AND ADD ANOTHER invoice it simply moves right on and does not mention the credit. Please could the apply credit option be available regardless of the way you finalise your invoice.

  16. It would be great to be able to group certain lines of an invoice together (for example by adding some spacing between groups), to make long invoices more readable and logically coherent.

    It used to be possible to add spacing on the Classic invoicing page by pressing Enter a few times on the description field, but this no longer works on the New invoicing.

    Hi team, thanks for sharing detail of the value in this idea in the ways you invoice.

    We've just released a new line item grid in invoicing which includes the ability to manually add blank rows and shift these to where you're like them placed in your invoice.

    That said, I want to be transparent in how this works - When you save your invoice any blank lines will be removed. So, if you'd like blank lines to help break your invoice into sections, you'll need to enter a character in the Description field of the blank line. Even a full stop '.' or dash '-' would suffice. 

  17. Permanent inventory item on a specific invoice template

    For example, we are an automotive repair shop
    If I was to have a specific invoice template for 'vehicle servicing' and would like every service invoice to come up with Sundries and Freight automatically

    This would be a great way to save time as well as making sure everything is being charged out correctly

    Hi everyone, thanks for your interest in the idea here. While we don’t have immediate work planned for adding the ability to enable permanent items within an invoice template, as mentioned in my last update an option for now would be to create a 'dummy' contact that you could create invoices for and leave in a draft status. When you want to use that invoice as the template you can then use the copy to option.

    On a separate note, our teams are doing some more discovery to better understand our invoicing users and we wanted to engage you all here. 

    As we continue to plan further developments within invoicing, our product teams would like to better understand our invoicing users for future improvements.   19. It would be really useful to have a way of typing the date without having to use a / in between the numbers, like you could on classic invoicing

    e.g. 20012024 used to convert automatically to 20th January 2024 on classic invoicing

    Thanks for your interest in this idea, everyone. We understand there are different ways our customers find useful when entering dates for invoices in Xero.

    Based on feedback our team are looking at improvements to the date pickers in new invoicing. While I can't confirm exactly what these will entail atm, we'll shift the idea to working on it and I'll be back to confirm when we have more of the detail.

  20. You can only allocate payment on accounts to a customer ledger on Xero by clicking 'Overpayment' which is very long winded. Please can this be simplified to select the customer and then allocate straight as a 'payment on account' and then this can be allocated to the invoice once this is uploaded.

    In addition, if there is money out that gets contra'd against money received from a client, there is no way of coding this to the customer ledger.
