Repeating Invoices - Schedule a specific time for repeating invoices to be generated and sent
Ability to schedule time for repeating invoices to be generated and sent.
Purpose: To make repeating invoices are generated and sent to the contact/supplier/customer’s preferred time.
Hi community, thanks for your inputs here and we appreciate wanting an update to understand the position of this idea.
Atm, our teams are evaluating and reimagining the future of repeat invoices in Xero. We totally get the need for more controls and efficiencies for recurring payments and this is something we'd like to solve.
Right now, our teams are exploring work to enable scheduled sending of invoices and while we can't provide definite timeframes, I'll be happy to share as soon as this is further news of this for you all here.

Its ironic that Xero can send me invoices during business hours, but I can can only send my (recurring) clients an invoice at midnight.
Clearly Xero understands there own clients don't want a billing email in the middle of the night.

I can see you've implemented scheduled sending for standard invoices. But yet again, repeating invoices are left in the dark ages.

It would be ideal if one could choose whether the "Delivery Time" is either:
1. Recipient's local time (Client)
2. Sender's local time (Xero user)The client's timezone would be *automatically* derived/resolved from their "Billing" address (or a new "Timezone" field if that's not specified).
This setting would be available on a per/invoice basis.

We have customers world wide and being able to schedule a time when the invoice enters their email inbox at the start of their working day would be very, very helpful.

We manage a number of commercial rentals and rely heavily on repeating invoices in Xero.
In our case invoices need to be sent to tenants 10 days before the new month, typically on the 20th, so tenants have notice before rent becomes due on the 1st.
For VAT purposes however the invoice date needs to remain the 1st of the month, not the 20th when it is actually sent.
Currently Xero does not allow us to generate and send an invoice on a specific date while keeping the invoice dated for a future period. Because of this we cannot fully automate repeating invoices and instead have to manually generate and send them each month.
The ability to generate and send the invoice on the 20th while keeping the invoice date set to the 1st of the next month would solve this and allow proper automation for rental invoicing while keeping VAT reporting correct.

The auto invoicing works if we are dealing with customers in time zones that are 7 or 8 hours ahead of us but not otherwise. Being able to schedule an invoice to go out at the start of the client's working day would be very handy.

We have also had complaints from clients that they are getting emails/invoices in the middle of the night - especially on new years eve!

This feature is important to clients, and it is annoying when they get a notification when they are sleeping. I am also shocked it is not something that can be adjusted.

I'm shocked this idea has been sitting here for over 3 years. I'm new to Xero and realised I can't use the automated repeatable invoices feature because it sends at 12:05am which looks really unprofessional. I now need to send the invoices manually. It's enough of a pain to consider using a different platform than Xero.

It doesn't even need to be a specific time. We just want them to be sent during waking hours and not in the middle of the night.
Again, we have to send all of our invoices manually because of this limitation.

How difficult is this to setup really? Come on Xero this is so important! We have to manually send all of our repeating invoices, which could be automated if it weren't for this. Such a waste of time

Yes I have lost contracted work because of the timing these invoices are sent. Please change this.
