Quotes - Access to contacts and adding details
There is a difference between the functionality of new quote page and the old one.
On the old quote page, when a new contact was entered and the quote was saved, you could then click directly on the contact field which was linked to the contact page. This allowed you to quickly add additional info (email address, phone number, etc). This made emailing the quote quick and easy.
On the new form, after you save the quote the contact name remains in edit mode.... so you cannot click on it to get to the contact page. There is no link…
62 votesHi team, we appreciate your idea and interest for this here. We apologise it's been a bit quiet on our front till now, however I want to assure you product ideas continues to be a core channel for our product teams as they continue to plan their roadmaps.
I'm pleased to share an update that this is a feature our product teams are currently taking a look into. As soon as there is further news on this to share I'll be back with another update for you on this.

Quotes - View Inventory Item Cost
See Inventory Item Cost when doing a Quote. I would find it helpful, when doing a quote to a customer, to see the cost of the inventory item I am quoting on. Of course, it should not appear in the final quote going to the client, but seeing it, would give me more confidence in doing my quote and make it a lot quicker. Thanks
20 votesHi Mark, as cost price of items can change over time, if you often associate specific items you're selling to sales you make to your customers perhaps Billable expenses?
When you add the expenses to your customers invoice this will bring across the cost price of the items you've assigned.

Quotes - Packing slip template
When invoicing, there is a drop down arrow/menu next to the "Print PDF" button, where you can select 'Invoice' or 'Packing Slip'.
We need this feature to be available in the quote for printing a picking slip / delivery docket.
Is it possible to add this functionality?
30 votesThanks for raising and supporting the idea here, community. Being open this isn't something we're looking to develop into Quotes for the time being. However, if needed you could have two branding themes, with a different Quote template: one for the quote itself, and one for a packing slip.
You could then edit the quote, and switch the branding theme to the one you want to send out.

Be great to search by account in addition to current fields. Be able to use CIS nominal codes on quotes so CIS is displayed
62 votesHi community, there was a brief window in which users were able to unintentionally code line items to CIS codes. However, there is more complexity in calculations for CIS and work that's needed to reflect this appropriately.

Quotes - Don't highlight all text when selecting a field
There is a weird issue when entering in text in the 'Descripton' box in a Quote.
Once the text is entered if you then leave the description box and then click back into it, all the text in that field is highlighted.
This is a little problem when you want to delete one character as it deletes the whole text.
If you Control V the text back....it hasn't copied the text to put it back in.
So, you lose all the text entered.I understand you can click a few times to stop it highlighting the whole text.

Quotes: Include Stripe PayNow button on quotes
With PayNow, we want the customer to use our stripe and pay on the quote. The idea behind this is that customer pays and then we send the product and issue the invoice. If we issue the invoice and then customer changes mind and doesn't pay, it will be a problem and we need to delete the invoice. So, adding Pay Now to the quote will solve this problem.

Right now, accepting deposits with Stripe (that’s in the process of being rolled out) is limited to approved invoices rather than quotes, so paying directly from a quote isn’t supported in the current release.
We do see the value in enabling payment earlier in the sales flow, and future plans for deposits include exploring earlier stages such as quote-based workflows. We’ll return with more news here if, and when that becomes more concrete.

They'd like to solve for the needs in this idea, and as part of their discovery would love to engage some users here for early access - You'll get to try it out, share feedback directly with product, and help shape this new quotes feature.

Contacts | Quotes - View declined quotes for a contact from their record
Declined quotes to appear in the activity list of a contact - At the moment they do not and the only way to determine if a quote was raised previously is through a search through quotes.
Since it is an activity linked to a contact, fruitful or not, this should be linked to activity list of the contact.

Create a accept quote button/link within the quote email template so clients can hit the button within their email client to accept quotes instead of having to view it online or missing it within the attached PDF quote.

New Quote - Create blank lines in Quote
Since the new quote format was launched, we are no longer to insert a blank line in our quotes at the beginning of a new item. Previously, this allowed us to space out the quote a little so it didn
t look too jumbled and allowed us to space the quote neatly over two pages instead of just having a line of a quote on the second page if it didnt all quite fit on the first. Please put it back to how it was and allow us to insert blank lines at the beggining of an item.30 votesHi team, coming back over this idea I want to be upfront that enabling the ability to add blank lines within a quote is not on our roadmap.
Thoroughly appreciate the suggestion from Richard here who's shared links where you can copy spacer characters that can be added to the description field of a quote row that will ensure once saved the quote holds these lines.

Quotes - Applying Mark up
Applying Mark up in Quote - Ability to hit 'apply mark up' and select specific costs / folders that the mark up is applied for. Ie labour costs are not based off markup but the products are. If you hit 'apply mark up' the markup gets applied to every single cost.
26 votesRounding back on the idea here it sounds like using non tracked inventory could be a solution.
In Products and services you can add items and enter a Purchase price and a Sales price for the same item.
This means you can add the marked up price for Sales and when you select the item in Quotes or Invoices this price will be reflected for the line item.
Alternatively, you could add a discount to lines of your invoice if there is a general amount or % by which you would mark up items.
Keen to hear your feedback for these options.

Quotes - Reduce number of steps to create and send
New quote screen has created a lot of extra steps in creating quotes
i.e.
- moved buttons out of intuitive workflow space
- save button now hidden at top right instead of at bottom of quote
- quote numbers less visible once saved
- sending a saved quote takes a lot more stepsUnderstand the need for new framework but the workflow changes have made creating quotes longer and more complicated. Thanks.

Quote - Ability to create template in Quote section
Please consider adding templates in your quoting section , this is a simple but extremely helpful and time saving tool to have when quoting , saves huge time and at the end time is money.
The inventory items in the templates need to automatically update with latest prices when utilized.
Really hope you consider this …

Over the past year we've released our new invoice template editor in most regions. This enables users to easily and simply customise the branding of their invoices on the fly.
This is something we'll look to extend across other document types overtime but don't have any timeframes of as yet.
For now, we're continuing to watch the interest for this grow here and will update if there's any news.

Quotes - Make the Title Field searchable
Why can't we search quotes by title? It would be so useful and its so overlooked by the design team. I have loads of jobs for one client and I have to sift until I find it rather than search my the job name. Please Zero!

Quotes - Attach file from library
The upgraded Quotes layout does not allow me to attach pdf's from the Files Section.
The only way to do this now is to download pdf from Files. Open Quote and Save it. Upload pdf.This has significantly slowed down the workflow - please can Xero Quotes be able to add attachemnts from Files and before Saving.
