  1. Minimum wage currently only looks at salary/regular earnings but what about guaranteed bonuses that count in minimum wage? For an employee on a very low basic - lower than minimum wage but with a very high percentage of turnover bonus taking salary to 6 figures e.g. a senior or a sales person then clearly they are not on minimum wage but your software would flag or report them as below the minimum.

    Is it not possible to have a guaranteed bonus item in the payroll template so that this is added to the minimum wage calculation every month? Also if…

  3. Xero should deal with back dating a directorship

    As an accountants it is not unusual to only have a touch point around the year end and the client prepares the payroll. And the addition of new directors can be missed by the staff preparing the payroll.
    No HMRC guidance is that you can adjust in the next month if the directorship is in the same payroll year. Xero does not work in this scenario. You need to revert each pay run back to the start if the directorship and re run and submit and if there is a weekly pay…

  4. Dear Xero Team,

    I’d like to submit a request for an enhancement to Xero Payroll to improve the setup and management of default superannuation funds.

    Currently, when adding a default fund in Xero, there is uncertainty around what should be entered in the Member Number field. We typically process super contributions through the ATO Portal, but we would love to have the ability to do this directly within Xero.

    Specifically, we would like the ability to:

    Add a Default Fund chosen by the employer.

    Assign employees who do not have an existing super fund to this default fund.

  5. Has support considered the option to filter the leave balance report by employment status? When generating this report all employees are listed or only an individual employee. Why would we need the current balance of leave for terminated employees? I have some employees who have returned, so both are listed but I don't know which is active until I run the report on each.

  6. It would be great if there was an option (tick the box) to copy last week's wages for the current week for payroll. I have casual staff who sometimes have the same hours as the previous week's so not having to replicate this would be great and the quickest way would be to have a tick the box which can copy it across to the current payroll

  7. In service industries like hospitality salaried employees will work a different set of shifts each week across 7 days. Currently I have to set up a working pattern and if they phone in sick on a Saturday for example if that day isnt set as their working day (i.e we set them up as Mon-Fri for ease) we have to record the sick day on the Monday to ensure it is deducted. But in these industries the working days are different each week and they dont work on a set pattern. Need the ability to set that the employee works…

  8. Add an additional pay frequency of 4-4-5 which is a very common pay frequency in the UK for service based businesses with hourly payrolls. Payroll is process in 4 week, 4 week and 5 week intervals over a year meaning essentially 4 x quarters of 13 weeks.

  9. It would make sense to rename "Mileage Claim" to "Trip KM's" or something like that.
    There are only 3 countries around the world that officially still use the IMPERIAL system (Miles). United States, Liberia, and Myanmar.
    It's a term that doesn't come naturally to the rest of the world.
    In the back of my mind, I feel that I need to do a "KM's to Miles" conversion calculation, for every trip entry. Even though I know that's not necessary.

  11. Ability to draft future payruns - ie more than 1 darft payrun. Especially at Christmas time. I would like to draft up future payruns before Igo on leave, but still have the ability to adjust this week payrun for overtime etc. At the moment I can't move forward until I complete current payrun. or i have to do un unscheduled payrun to fix it. Very time consuming

    Hi team, we want to be upfront that we don't have immediate plans for enabling the ability to create multiple draft pay runs in NZ Payroll.

    If this is something you'd like to see developed for NZ Payroll please add your vote here and we will continue to get a sense of the overall interest from community, and can share if there are any plans made.

  12. Once Payroll is posted we require the relevant reports (journal and activity), I feel a download link (alike the one for payslips) would be beneficial rather than having to view reports and then having to export download for printing or saving purposes, this would save users time.

  13. Hi There, curious to know, does Xero provides report 63 days payroll liability report. This is needed to accrue for the liability at the end of each tax year, since IRD allows this accrual to be accounted, with one condition, if the company has paid the staff with in 63 days from the end of each tax year. I know, this report is availabe by the other payroll software. Can this report be extracted from payroll reports.

  16. When you change an employees address on xero, it changes the address on all previous payslips to the new address it should be the address the employee was living at when the payslip was sent

  17. My EOM reports include PL, BS, Receivables AND payroll. Management report doesn't allow payroll reports to be added. Please allow this to be added to minimise time generating additional reports.

  19. It would be beneficial for clients who pay commissions to be able to customise the description on the pay slip (rather than showing just 'Withholding Income') or having to set up various 'Pay Items'.
