UK Payroll - Pay employees directly via Open Banking

With the advent of Open Banking, it would be great if when you submit the payroll, it could also utilise OB to physically make the payment to the employee also. This would help automate the whole payroll process.

Hi everyone, I'd like to confirm that making direct wage payments with Crezco is now available to all UK organisations with Xero Payroll.

You can find out more of the details about this through our Xero Central article.

It's worth noting scheduling payments is possible. However, there are some banks that do not support scheduling so it's best to check in with your bank if they do.

    This has now been released, but there is a major flaw. You cannot set payments to be future dated. I have personally never come accross a payroll team who process payroll on pay day. It is a positive step forward to have Crezco for payroll, but the lack of this feature renders the feature pretty useless for what I would guess to be 90% of users.

    It would be great to be able to pay all employees as a batch directly in Xero. Currently you can export a file for the bank, but being able to do it in Xero like we can with bill payments would be really useful and time-efficient.

    To enhance efficiency and save time, it would be highly beneficial to integrate the payroll system in Xero with Crezco Online Banking. This integration would allow wages to be paid directly through Xero, similar to how bills are currently managed. By automating the connection between Xero's payroll system and Crezco, users could avoid the manual process of downloading payroll documents, uploading them to Crezco, and processing payments. This streamlined approach would significantly reduce administrative tasks and improve overall productivity.

    Utilising Crezco for this similar to payables would be a effective solution.

    We can't upload a BACS or CHAPS file with standard business banking (Barclays).

    It would be much easier to pay employees directly using batch payments via Crezco like we have the ability to do with invoices, and avoid input errors that need adjusting on reconciliation.

    It is at least also an opportunity for Xero to generate revenue, which surely should move this up the list!

    I absolutely can't believe this isn't already a feature! Sadly I was told by a Xero agent that this was the case, and was one of the reasons we moved to Xero payroll.

    I raised the question directly in support and apparently there is no planned development on this.
    FFS Xero - surely you can see that this would be the logical next step rather than pretend you never saw this question coming? It's hardly surprising is it?
