NZ Payroll - Alternate Holiday accrual
Change the Alternate Holiday accrual to days not hours. Legally when someone works on a statutory holiday they get to accrue 1 days alternate holiday, which is the hours that they would normally work when they take the day off, not the hours they worked on the stat day. It's misleading putting in hours instead of days, especially if every day if not an 8 hour day. Reports need to be run every time an Alternate Holiday is taken to ensure they still have that day available.
Hi all, thanks for your patience. We've recently rolled out a change for all NZ payroll organisations, which will allow payroll admins to convert employees' leave balances from Hours to Days.
Going forward leave will accrue and be visible as days.
Thanks for supporting this idea and being the voice of change.

Alternative holidays leave type is set to Hours, but it is not showing up in the list of leave accruals for the employee when pay is processed, even though the leave type has been assigned to them. Therefore it is not possible to add the alternate leave to their payslip.
