Thanks for sharing this idea with us 🙂 We understand why being able to download attachments directly from an expense claim would be useful, especially where customers need to keep a copy of supporting documents or work with multi-page files.
We’re continuing to see interest in this idea, and recent feedback suggests support for this capability is growing. That helps build a clearer picture of the demand and the value this change could bring for customers using Expenses.
While we don’t have any plans or timeframe to share right now, the idea is gaining more visibility through feedback and engagement. We appreciate you taking the time to add your support and we’ll continue to share updates if there’s any progress in future.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and support regarding automated payslip emails. We appreciate you sharing how this feature would improve your workflows.
The product team has reviewed this idea and confirmed that this is something they’d like to work toward in the future. Although it isn't on the roadmap yet, we've moved the status to Accepted. We'll keep you updated as things progress.
In the meantime, payslips can be emailed manually after processing each pay run. This means if you post pay runs in advance, you may still need to log back into Xero on payday to email them.

Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback. We recognise that a timesheet summary report would be a valuable addition to NZ Payroll.
This idea has been moved to our Accepted for future consideration.
While it isn’t currently on our roadmap, we’ll check back in here if that status changes.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your patience & would like to thank everyone who’s shared their thoughts and supported this idea.
Xero's payroll reports do currently offer some options to adjust columns, filters & layout. However we hear & understand the need for having additional information & more flexibility with payroll reporting, including the ability to customise & save reports for future use.
Being open here, these improvements are not in our current pipeline. However we'll use this feedback to shape how we plan future improvements in Xero Payroll reports.

Hey team, me again. Apologies, getting a little ahead of ourselves with the status of this idea.
I can confirm that self onboarding of new employees is live for Xero Payroll in AU, however this feature does not extend to NZ organisations right now.
This will be something we continue to consider as we keep developing Payroll for NZ and I'll share any further updates with you all here. Thanks

Hey team 😊 happy to come back to share that this work is now underway with our product team as they begin development for managing files within Xero Payroll.
We really value the feedback we've received from you all in this idea, which has helped inform our teams approach to developing a solution that will fit majority of needs.
I'll return to share as we get nearer to release with more information on what this looks like including where and how you'll be able to attach files in Payroll.

Hi Sophie ✨, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We're well aware how the generic descriptions in pay run journals can be confusing when they don't align with your specific payroll settings. We understand that you've been using workarounds like exporting reports to Excel and manually editing them to get the detail you need. While this can help in the short term, we recognize it is a time-consuming process that shouldn't be necessary.We've shared your valuable feedback with our product team. As with all new features, we have to balance this against other development priorities. We can't promise a specific timeline, but the more support an idea gets, the higher it climbs on our list. Thank you for your engagement and sharing through product ideas, everyone. While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.

Thanks for your strong feedback on logging start and end times in NZ Payroll timesheets. We understand some of you are currently using workarounds or additional softwares to track start and end times.
I'm pleased to let you know we're moving this idea to In discovery, which means the product team is now reviewing the viability of this feature. This is an important step as we explore what it would take to bring this functionality to NZ Payroll and how it could best serve your needs.

Hi community, we appreciate the on-going interest this idea is receiving and the growing needs in the ability to customise documents that you send from Xero.
Right now, our position for this idea remains the same - we do have future plans to improve the branding experience across Xero, starting with invoicing which you can read more about.
As this experience continues to build out we'll make sure to share any updates for customising Remittance for everyone here.

This would be so good to have. We can customise just about everything else, why not remittance advices? We have customers wanting more info on their remittance advice, but just can't give it to them.
