AU Payroll - Support Superstream Alternative File Format (SAFF)
AU Payroll - Support for Superstream Alternative File Format
We need the ability to create a SAFF file.
Hi team, we appreciate this idea being re-raised and while this isn't something we have any plans for in the near terms will get a renewed sense of interest in from the idea here.
Make sure to share the idea with any colleagues that you feel could benefit from the idea so they can add their vote, too. Thanks

I support this change.
Xero's current super clearing house Super Choice is owned by multinational interests and their business strategy appears to be to hold funds for up to 5 days so as to make money on the interest.
The intent of pay day super was not for multinationals to make money off the super contributions of the average aussie worker.
By providing choice this would break the nexus. A lot of super clearing houses transfer the money the next day. -

I had a meeting with our Xero account manger few days ago, who advised that the Xero export of superannuation payment batch was removed because of the closing of the SBSCH. She was surprised to hear that people were choosing not to use Xero Auto Super.
I explained all the reasons why I use a non-Xero super clearing house, and that having an export of super batch is equally as important as export of ABA payment files.
I use Xero as an accounting software, it should be bank / payment service agnostic. I shouldn't be forced to use the Xero super clearing house just because Xero hasn't provided the data exports that will work well with other clearing houses. -

Just adding in my support for having a SAFF File format readily available in XERO, given payday super requirements and the ease of not having to do too much manual data entry/combine multiple reports to get the format required by our super clearing house to pay superannuation to our employees.

This is critically important as Xero also does not allow users to process payroll where they do not have an Australian bank account to setup bank feeds (or do not wish to).

Allow export of full employee, superannuation fund and amount details for import into superannuation clearing house.
Once Xero has calculated the super payable, it should be possible to import these details direct to the employer's chosen super clearing house rather than having to manually enter, which risks data entry errors.
Users should not be forced to use Xero's super clearing house, however the lack of suitable data export from Xero makes it difficult to efficiently use other clearing houses. -

I agree this is important in order to streamline processes and reduce human error with payday super approaching quickly.

Yes, completely agree. With payday super imminent, we really need the ability to export required information from Xero and import straight into super clearing houses. This will also greatly reduce room for human error and reduce time required to lodge super. We really need a custom report where we can select required information as each clearing house may have some differences.

We really want to be able to easily upload to a clearing house of our choice instead of having to use multiple reports, given payday super is on the way this is more critical than ever for us
