Apologies Arna, just rounding back across your idea here I wanted to highlight that we actually have a separate forum for API and integration requests, that these sort of suggestions are best raised through. You'll generally find like minded community members there and experts that can keep you updated on these developments.
I found an existing idea for opening the Xero Expenses API here you can join and support. 🙂
