UK Payroll - Set time and day when scheduling payslips
I love that you can now schedule payslips but it would be much better if you could choose date and time rather than 1 day/2 days/3 days etc this is fussy, a calendar and time would be fanastic !!!!
Thanks for the great discussions here, just wanted to touch base to let you know we’re listening. The idea is still open and currently gathering support on Xero Product Ideas, so we don’t have a public timeframe to share right now. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on support here and update if anything changes.

Agree with all that selecting when they payslips are sent is crucial to us. We are moving from Quickbooks where this was standard.

Totally agree this update is a complete waste of time. I pay my staff on the 5th of every month why can't the pay slips be automated to go on a specific date?

This to me would be a game chager as I have many payrolls to do and all require differing paydates. Some are the same each time so can be done early to save time but we need a choice of date not days in advance.

Yup! Payslips on pay day please. Not when we do a pay run (which can vary with weekend overtime etc.). Every job I've ever had I've got my payslip on the day I get paid!

UK Payroll - Automated payslips on a specific date.
Following up on the recent update to the new automated payslip feature which is still quite impractical.
Please can you add a feature to actually allow us to select a specific date the payslips go out, rather than the option to only be sent 1-5 days after posting date.

Whilst the payslip automation feature has its uses - surely select a fixed date would be sensible? I run payrolls on different dates ahead of payday, if I am on leave for example I may run payroll more than a week before pay day - being able to schedule the payslip to go on payday makes most sense to me!

Who came up with this! Who wants payslips to be sent based on the day we do the work? It's the date they're going to be paid that matters! The day we process pay runs may vary month to month, so to pick a standard amount of days after that to apply to all future payslips being made available is so random.

Totally agree. Its useful that you have added this feature but people process payroll on a different time each month and it depends on the day of the week as to when this should be sent to employees. Most organisations pay on the same day each month ie 28th and it would be so useful to have the payslips set for that same day rather than having to jump in and change the parameters each month. This is like half a solution to the problem

I totally agree.
I normally doa payrun 4-5 days in advance of payday & post it, but would like to email the payslips on the day before payment to emplyees, or on the payment date itself NOT when I post the payrun & then repeat it with a delay.
The current update really does nothing to help as I still have to log in again on payday to email the payslips as I have been doing for years.
I'm sorry to say your developers have either misunderstood how most people do payroll, or have simply done a 'cheap job' by scheduling what is effectively a duplicate payslip send IMHO.

I would have to agree with Scott on this.
The original suggestion thread was to be able to schedule sending the payslips on a specifyable date by the user NOT the way this system update appears to have been done.
'Emailing on posting payrun' & then again 'On payment date' (or set number of days afterwards) the pay-run makes no sense at all. This simply duplicates sending them & still doesn't give the user business the flexibility to send them even just on the 'Payment date ONLY' or let's say more importantly, the day before payment??!!
Basically the way the update has currently been implemented is inflexible & illogical IMHO

Agree, this makes no sense whatsoever. Default should be for payslips to be automatically emailed to employees on payday, but we definitely need the ability to choose a specific calendar date.

Absolutely agree to emailing the payslips on the actual payment date rather than on or after posting the pay run.
Most of the comments on the feature request thread asked for a PAYMENT DATE AUTOMATION not pay run posting.
What if we posted on the 10th of the month but the payment date wasn't until the 30th - why would you send the payslip so early???!! Plus there is a chance that it may get changed between then and the pay date. Please make it make sense!

The new update to email payslips to employees doesn't really make any sense.
The original suggested idea was to allow flexibility to payroll processors so they don't have to log in to Xero for each payroll client and release the payslips manually. The new update for scheduled automation just really moves the responsibility to the posting date so we now need to remember to log in to Xero to post the payroll with the automation either being automatic on the day, or within a 5 day window after posting!
Having a 1 to 5 day delay does nothing to really assist with the original query/request. Most payroll pay dates change month by month, dependent on whether the date of the pay day lands on a working day, a weekend or a bank holiday. We need the ability to post the payroll on whatever day we have the time availability to process and then be able to set a specific DATE that the payslips are released to employees.
The current update doesn't really improve the situation or make things any easier. I am a bit confused by the update to be honest and why it was released and I think others who requested this will agree!!
