    Allow changes to employees' regular earnings details even when a draft pay run is in progress. If an employee's rate needs to be changed, they should be unticked or deselected in the draft pay run.

    Currently, the entire pay run needs to be deleted, even if only one out of fifty employees needs a rate change, doubling the time spent on preparing the pay run. All calculations for overtime, leave, reimbursements, and deductions will need to be redone.

    Hopefully, this can be considered.

    Hi there, we're aware it's been a while since you've raised this case, so wanted to update you. We've reviewed this idea and whilst showing the number of employees allowed directly in the pay run isn't in the pipeline, we can suggest a workaround.

    To confirm the number of employees included in a posted pay run within the current calendar month, you can run the Payroll Employee Summary report and filter it by posted date

    The pay run’s posted date determines which month it falls under.

    It's important to note that the plan limits for employees per month isn't set by the number of active employees, but by the total number of employees paid during the calendar month.

    This includes any terminated employees paid during the calendar month and employees that have been included in a pay run with a blank payslip.

    Hi everyone, we'd like to return with an update for all who've supported the idea for attaching files within Payroll.

    As we develop foundations of payroll to enable us to consider new features like this, we're beginning discovery of how we might build this capability and when this could be planned in our roadmap.

    This is just the initial stages of diving deeper into this work, but steering in the right direction.

    I'll be sure to share any progression around attachments within payroll with you all, here.

  4. We are after a report which shows the leave accrual rates for each individual employee in bulk report. I know we can view each individual employee by clicking on their leave balance and looking at the "Hours of leave accrued annually by a full-time employee. However for businesses with a large number of employees, this is very time consuming, therefore we would like a bulk report we can run to view all employees accrual rates in the one report.

  5. To minimise additional payroll payment processing it would be great to have the ability to pay employees from more than one Company bank account using the Payroll Batch payment functionality i.e Employee 1,2,3,4 gets paid from Bank Account A and Employee 5,6,7,8 gets paid from Bank Account B.

  6. Recently did the super and needed to add the TFN of each and every individual employee manually into the file.

    If it's a required field for the clearing house file then it should be included in the super accruals report - obviously.

Currently, for monthly employees, Xero does not take into consideration the fact that they have been set up to be paid the same amount each month, therefore the days in the month are meaningless from a pay perspective. Unfortunately, this means that the basis leave accrues on to work out how many hours a public holiday/personal/annual leave day should be when leave is entered is also meaningless. Instead of defaulting to 7.6 (or 8) hours/day leave taken, it does a calculation based on the number of working days in a month. So if someone is being paid on the basis…

    Hi everyone, we’ve been following the conversation around how Xero calculates leave request hours for salaried employees. As you’ve mentioned, the current calculation based on the working days in a month isn't hitting the mark for everyone.

    We understand some of you would prefer an alternative calculation method and are manually adjusting leave requests so they reflect the exact amount of hours in a day.

    While this feature isn't currently on our roadmap, we see the logic in your request. We've shared this idea with the product team and moved it to Accepted. We’ll keep you posted right here if anything evolves.

  9. i would like to that when you have made a superannuation payment through Xero, that it creates a bill, with a screen shot or a list of employees that has been paid. will make it easier for when you have an audit.

If Reimbursements are meant to be used for certain allowances then we need to be able to set up units and unit rates in the same way as we do for allowances, otherwise the calculation becomes a manual one and leaves room for human error. It also means reporting is not clear on how the amount was calculated as even though you can enter a description on the payslip i dont beleive there is a report that summarises this.
    ie for overtime meal allowances you should be able to show how many you have paid and at what rate so…

  11. Could Xero please introduce the ability to report child support deductions and garnishees via STP reporting to the ATO.

    Xero currently does not support reporting of child support deductions through STP Phase 2 with Xero Payroll.

    Hi everyone, and thank you for your feedback on reporting child support via Single Touch Payroll (STP).

    Xero doesn’t currently support child support reporting through STP. While this isn't in active development at this exact moment, we are reviewing it for potential inclusion in our longer-term roadmap.

    For now, we suggest you continue to process child support using an 'Other/None' deduction category and submit the required monthly report to the Child Support registrar manually.

    We appreciate your patience and will update you if the status changes.

  12. When you view a payrun, the breakdown at the top shows: Earnings, Taxes, Superannuation, Net Pay, Status & Payment Date.
    When you view the details for any of the employees there is an additional field for Reimbursements at the top of the screen.
    It would be great if the reimbursements total was also shown on the pay runs summary screen to quickly review and identify the total.
    Especially when the clients run their own payroll and we are just reconciling.

    Thanks for your patience, it’s been a little while since you raised this idea, so we wanted to check in. We can see this idea has been steadily gaining support. Our product team are keeping an eye on this idea and we will continue to share updates as things evolve.

  13. When a leave request comes in for approval and the employee can take leave in advance (the box is ticked), it should show you how many hours the employee has available. This amount should be the number available minus the leave balance that has already been approved in the system. The leave balance report is only useful when employees can't take leave in advance in their first year. It's a challenge each time (especially leading up to Christmas) to calculate leave that is available before approving the request because you have to review how much leave has been approved in…

    Hi everyone, thanks for voting and your detailed comments on this idea.

    We understand the challenge of having to navigate away from the approval screen to find an employee's leave balance. Providing this information directly within the approval screen could streamline the process and reduce the risk of approving leave that results in a negative balance.

    The good news is that our product team's reviewed this idea and recognise the value it would deliver. It's something they’d like to work on in the long term. It's not on the roadmap just yet but we'll update you when we're able to bring more focus to this idea.

  14. Please give us the option to make Tracking Groups a mandatory selection on the Employee tab before Xero users can save a new employee. This will stop users from setting up new employees & forgetting to assign the Employee Group tracking group which results in misreporting

    Hi team, while we appreciate your feedback and why you'd like to make this field mandatory not all businesses use tracking for payroll. We want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for making the employee groups field mandatory.

  15. Ability to draft future payruns - ie more than 1 darft payrun. Especially at Christmas time. I would like to draft up future payruns before Igo on leave, but still have the ability to adjust this week payrun for overtime etc. At the moment I can't move forward until I complete current payrun. or i have to do un unscheduled payrun to fix it. Very time consuming

    We've reviewed your comments and can see the that this idea has been steadily gaining support.

    Whilst this idea isn't currently on our product team's roadmap, we're monitoring the activity and will continue to keep you updated along the way.

  16. Where payslips are emailed to an email address that is invalid and returns a kick back message.
    Xero to forward kick back message or advise Payroll ID that sent emails out of a problem for an employee's email so that invalid email can be investigated and amended.

    We also use Xero Me for employees however not everyone sets this up on receipt of invite and just prefer to receive email advices.

  17. A report that shows current annual leave hours, plus leave available to take in advance hours for each employee. It's very time consuming to have to calculate leave if you want to give an employee leave in advance. Using the "show leave available to take in advance" option in the employee set up tends to give the wrong balances on the employee payslip which leads to confusion.

  18. Unpaid Intern. I have an Uni student doing an internship. We offered to pay $500 per month as a transport allowance. The unpaid intern is not an employee. When I wanted to set this person up in Payroll, I found limitations: the only available contracts are full time, part time and casual. I tried to set her up as casual, which is wrong, and link the transport allowance. An error pop up asking to calculate Superannuation. I give up.

When viewing historic employees, being able to view the next historic employee would be great, rather than having to come back out of history employees, which only shows the historic employee you have selected, with a drop down list of current employees only, then you have to go back in again to employees/history again to look up the next historic employee

  20. An automatic monthly payroll tax report would be fantastic. I've noticed Xero cannot do an automatic calculation of Payroll Tax like MYOB can. MYOB allows you to select pay categories (pay items) to exclude and run a monthly payroll tax report.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts on having a payroll report that calculates payroll state tax. We understand some of you are required to calculate tax across multiple states.

    While we don't currently have a report which calculates earnings based on state, some of you have mentioned workarounds such as using the Payroll Activity Summary report. This report includes earnings totals and can be filtered by a date range and employee groups.

    We recognise the value a report of this nature could have for our customers and it’s been added to the wider pool of ideas for our product team to consider for future development.

    While it’s not on our immediate roadmap, we’ll be sure to keep you looped in if there’s any progress.
