  1. Please update to have the option of removing salary hours on payslips.
    We just need the Gross Salary for that line and not the hours.
    When we have employees working accross different days of the week Xero Payroll round the hours and so in our example someone on 100 hours working 11 days per fortnight, Xero Payroll rounds the Salary Hours to 99.9999 on the payslip which is close but not correct. Currently no workaround for this.

  2. It would be useful to be able to deselect employees form completing time sheets and therefore not appear on the time sheet screen. We have admin staff that don't complete time sheets but I still have to submit nil time sheets to ensure all are up-to-date

  4. Is there any way in employees card that we can set up a field to capture diversity (Aboriginal,Non-Binary) etc, I'm sure this will be need in the future.

  5. When an employee onboards and doesn't have a Tax File Number (TFN) either because they are new to Australia and have just applied for one or they are under 18 and exempt. Xero should have a feature that warns you when they either turn 18 or they have passed the 28 days allowed to work without a TFN and it should automatically change their tax declaration to no TFN provided and change the tax withheld rate, until a TFN is provided.   6. There should be an audit trail in Payroll detailing when changes to an Employee record is made (for example: date an address was updated for an employee and what it was until that date, likewise for other details such as email address, bank account number, tax code etc). As an Employer we should be able to rely on the digitised Payroll system we are using to determine when changes to an Employee's record has been made.   7. Save and Next option for Timesheet approval.

    Rather than having to go back to the beginning for each and every timesheet approval you should be able to save and view next in the same way you can with bills.

  8. I would like to add CIS labourers (none employees) to payroll, so timesheets can be added like a wage slip, rather than an invoice, this would help with the likes of connecteam, with their timesheet integrations

  9. It would be good to beable to add employees Annual bonuses into xero so we don't have to refer to their contracts each time. As well as a report that will show employees details Remuneration, Bonuses etc

    In the meantime, we can suggest a possible workaround so that your employees bonus information is held within Xero would be to add this as a Note in each employees Employment record for easy access.

  10. Average Employee Numbers in the Year

    As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

    It’s been a bit since this idea was first raised, so we wanted to check in. To help you get the info you’re looking for, we’ve added Start and Termination dates to the Employee Contact Details report.

  12. As a Chartered Accountant, I’ve observed an issue in Xero’s handling of sick leave entitlements that I believe warrants improvement. Currently, if an employee is not included in the pay run closest to their sick leave entitlement date, the entitlement does not accrue. This creates a significant gap in compliance with employment obligations and adds unnecessary administrative burden to correct.
    To enhance the functionality and flexibility of Xero's payroll system, I think that sick leave entitlements should automatically accrue when the employee is included in any future pay run following their entitlement date. This adjustment would ensure compliance with employment…

  13. Xero cannot current cope with companies that have more than one pension scheme. The upload I need to send to the pension provider includes payroll number, pensionable earnings for period, start date and date of birth. It would be useful if Xero had the ability to add these and additional fields if required customised in the contribution report.

  14. Please enable the ability to pay staff with a joint bank account in same pay run. We currently have to pay two couples with a joint bank account into separate accounts each run. Xero does not permit two payments into the same bank account in one pay run. I have confirmed with our bank that this is not an error on their end. Xero support have informed me that this is not a function that Xero currently offers.

  16. Fortnightly Pay Runs to have weekly split.
    Allowing admin staff to put hours worked for employees on a weekly basis which also allows for greater visage of hours worked per week rather than an overall of the fortnight for both managing staff and the employee themselves.

  17. When approving timesheets it would be ideal to have separate lines underneath Ordinary Hours with Leave requested, on which days and hour amounts and to be able to approve there instead of having to go to a different screen.

    Can be hard to double check and remember correct days the leave was taken and also to ensure daily and weekly hours are met.

  18. On the Gross to Net report, payments before August 2024 have a "posted date" set to the date the report was generated, which is incorrect. See attached example.
    To reduce confusion, either:
    - The Posted Date feature should be backdated so that payments before August 2024 show the correct "posted date"
    - Payments before August 2024 should not state a "posted date" at all.

  19. SSP EXTENSION; There needs to be a way of extending SSP
    Most people who are off sick are not aware of when they will return, it is often necessary to be able to extend SSP. It is not acceptable to have a process that requires reverting payroll. I am still trying to get almost £5000 back from HMRC because Xero reported the variance in April as an additional payroll & the YTD figures have not corrected the issue. Reverting payroll should be the very last resort & not used for something as standard as stat sick leave.

  20. The new NZ WorkRide scheme works via a pre-tax deduction re salary sacrifice. Xero Support confirmed that right now there’s no functionality in Xero Payroll to process a pre-tax deduction. We have been advised that we need to manually adjust the tax in the draft pay run to reduce the PAYE withheld. Please enable your customers to comply with the NZ WorkRide scheme without the need for manual PAYE adjustments, by creating the ability to process pre-tax deductions.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on pre-tax deductions for salary sacrifice schemes like WorkRide. We appreciate you sharing how you’re currently managing these.

    Currently you can achieve the result of a pre-tax deduction in Xero payroll by using a Discretionary Payment category pay item and entering the deduction amount as a negative figure. Gross earnings are effectively reduced, eliminating the need for PAYE adjustments.

    We recognise that this workaround may not be a perfect fit for all schemes. While this feature is not yet on our immediate roadmap, we have updated its status to Accepted. This ensures it is flagged for formal consideration by our product team during future planning cycles. We'll keep you updated as things progress and value your continued input.
