  1. Feature: I'd like to be able to format the [Due Date] field when it's included in email templates.

    Use Case: My standard emails include a line which reads "This invoice will be due for payment by 09 Oct 2023". I have to reformat the date to a more readable style every time.

    Basic Outcome: Using standard date formatting you should be able to express the date as "Monday 9 October, 2023" - note that the leading "0" on the date number has been omitted, and also the inclusion of a comma after the month.

    Hi team, appreciate the interest and clarification that we've received through this idea fro customers.

    Right now adding additional placeholders to email templates isn't in our short term plans but we're continuing to follow the interest of this here.

    For the time being I know not the 'set and forget' solution you're after here - you can edit the default email to add the Contact Account Number before sending the invoice.

  3. It would be good to have the ability to add a customer watchlist to the dashboard so that businesses can see when customers have overdue invoices or reached their credit limits so credit credit control can be improved. I personally don't like the email reminders as that doesn't work for our business model so I feel like a watchlist on the dashboard would be good.

  4. On the taskbar, it would be useful to have a dropdown option to link through to the last few pages that you have accessed. Maybe the last 10 pages accessed would be good, a mixture of recent searches and recent transactions. I know QBO has this and I use it a lot for navigating.

    For example, when I run a P&L and drill down to a specific bill, sometimes I would make an amendment to said bill. When I save and go back it spits me out at the CoA when I want to return to the P&L. So instead…

    Hi team, appreciate the thoughtful feedback in your idea here and while not a complete solve for what's being asked I did want to highlight for this specific scenario you may find favouriting reports useful. This will make that report easily navigable from the Reporting menu in our new navigation 🙂

    Also, just another tool that might help to find items that have recently been edited - the History & Notes could be used and filtered to quickly see what transactions have been edited.

    While we don't have immediate plans for enabling these sort of breadcrumbs our teams are continuously thinking about the logic and flows as they keep developing Xero features.

  5. It would be great if there was some flag/notification visible on the Dashboard, to inform clients that you have raised a Discussion point on a transaction, that they need to address.

  6. Export in CSV UTF-8 or excel file as opposed to CSV comma delimited. Or have the option to choose what format the file is downloaded in as opposed to it having to be csv comma delimited.

    Reasoning: We utilise characters in our Xero that currently doesnt export out correctly e.g. "青龍 香米". This problem would be eliminated if we could export the file format as either excel or CSV UTF-8. Xero as a system supports the upload of these characters and displays them absolutely fine on the webpage, which is why we have decided to move to your system, but…

  7. There is a significant risk to accuracy allowing the ability to edit an approved invoice without further approval from a higher access tier to what is already provided.

    We have experienced a number of clients sending out the invoices to their clients and then editing the invoices, resulting in differences between the original invoice and that on the system. There is no real audit detail either.

    Therefore, the request is to consider introducing an additional access level restricting the editing / amending of documentation after approval.

  9. It would be really helpful if there was a way of adding a description/note to conversion balances. For example, if a creditor balance relates to a specific loan, it would be useful to be able to note this somewhere. Currently, reports only show 'conversion balance' as the description for the transaction and it isn't possible to add a description to the conversion journal. It makes it difficult to keep track of historic debtors and creditors and this information needs to be kept elsewhere, duplicating work.

  10. Xero currently fails the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This means that people with accessibility needs are locked out of being able to use Xero effectively.

    A quick scroll through shows that Xero fails a number of criteria, such as:
    - 2.1 Keyboard Accessible (for example, on the new bills page, tabbing through the page includes tabbing through the search bar, and when you tab through the date fields this causes today's date to be included as a filter, which cannot be immediately undone using the keyboard without tabbing through to another field)

  11. At a quick count there at least three different date selectors used in Xero. This makes it clunky for users and some date selectors are functionally outdated. Examples, the date selector used in Invoices (best) vs the one used in Reports (worst) vs the one used in Leave.

    Use the same date selector(s) across the entire product. One that allows for:
    - Keyboard entry of date(s), multiple formats eg 23/08/23 as well as 23 Aug 2023 (Invoices does this)
    - Shortcuts like 'This financial year' etc - where applicable
    - Quick year jumps (unlike the date selector in Reports -…

  12. Hi - it would be great if there was an indication on the Demo company when the data will be reset. We know it is every 28 days but when is the 28 days up. I've lost demo testing in preparation to show a client how Xero can help them.

  13. Email allocation to different tasks for Xero-I think it would be beneficial to be able to allocate a different email address for a number of tasks, ie Invoices / statements have one, another for quotes and suppliers ie bills. I have a client that doesn't wish to receive every email for every aspect of the business as its not part of her role. Do you think this would be possible?

    Thanks for sharing your interest in single sign on across Xero's products. This is available currently across many areas or Xero. For example if you are logged in and working in Xero, then move across to Xero Central(our support hub) you may need to click the login button in the top right of the screen but if you're session hasn't ended you should find the page should refresh and automatically log you in.

    We appreciate wanting a smoother login experience that's recognised across all Xero products and will share if there are any improvements planned around this with you all, here.

  15. "Business and accounting" role needs ability to more narrowly define. I want an employee to access invoices (receivables) but that then gives them access to ALL financial reporting, e.g. P&L, which I don't want them to see.

    Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.

    As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.

    Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.

    I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

  16. Allow tracking options to be entered against all account codes for conversion balances. For existing businesses that use tracking and wish to migrate to Xero with opening balances, this is an important feature.

  17. Have the option to change the Avatar/ coloured circle with initial in email inbox, to a business logo when emails are sent from Xero on behalf of the business. I.e when sending out invoices and quotes through the Xero app.
