Select/Highlight Xero web page details without automatically following link
Most web links allow for text and links to be selected/highlighted by clicking, holding and dragging for additional options when the selection is right clicked (copy, print etc.)
It seems unintuitive when attempting to select/highlight (clicking and dragging over text) items in Xero, such as invoice numbers, that the page immediately follows the link as though clicked.
It is often useful to select text for simple copying, or highlight specific sections for printing on web pages, but this behavior prevents that basic utility.3 votes -
Multi Currency - Exchange Rate Import and Export
Please look into the idea for Importing and Exporting exchange rate from Xero for the ease of update if default XE Rate is not used by the organisation and the export function to generate exchange rates used for the period.

Financial Settings - Custom accounting periods/calendars
It would be great if it were to be possible to apply accounting periods Period 1 , Period 2 etc even if these fall into the calendar months or fall into 4/4/5 week pattern . It would make looking at transaction reports in a pivot far easier , it would avoid having to save data , fix it with additional columns and then review constantly . This would be a game changer . All companies work to months calendar or something else yet Xero doesn't have this functionality which is crucial to analysing data and preparing month end .

User roles - Limit user from seeing historic data
User role - Limit access to user based on year of transactions. I.e. can only view transactions from 2023 onwards.

Organisation Settings - Pull 'Organisation type' from Companies House API
When setting up a new Xero organisation, in Organisation Settings we are being asked for organisation type and registration number. it should be possible, especially for Limited Companies, to pull their details which are stored on statutory register via the API by reference to registration number.

User Roles - Limit access to view transactions for specific tracking categories
It would be really useful to be able to give users (dept. managers) access to Xero, but purely for their department, so they can view real time reports (profit & loss etc) of only their department, without having access to the company as a whole, or other people's departments.

Organisation Settings - Set default date format to DDMMYYYY for South African orgs
The date format for South Africa is incorrect. We use a day month year format, not the American month day year format. Surely Xero can change this so its adaptable for each country and preference? Its not asking a lot of work to have that additional option. But can cause a huge issue when its not what we work with.

User logins - Client to see a login by the practice, rather than individual users
As a firm of around 25 accountants, we all may need access to a particular client at any point in time. Currently however, the client is aware of each individual user (i.e. 25 users) rather than an as a practice.
It would be therefore be good if Xero operated like Sage or QBs whereby the client only sees the practice as having access to their data.

My Xero - Show company logo in drop down
You can upload your logo and it appears on your invoices. Great. But here is an easy win, replace the initials on the Menu drop down with the company logo too? It would just be a nice touch.

User role - Permission to create Spend or Receive monies
The Receive Money function should be made available to users who do nothing else except literally receive money - ie sales people. This is especially relevant in small countries where cash is king and non electronic transactions are still in majority. I have one user who only needs to receive cash but I can't give them that function without making them an Adviser.

Xero Interface - Dismiss / hide the setup guide
Please add the ability to dismiss/hide the setup guide without the need to have clicked through and used all options in the guide. Some do not apply to my organization and so there is no way to get the blue setup guide button to disappear and it gets in the way of other things on the screen.

Xero - Reduce white space
There seems to be a lot of white space on each page. An accounting system really needs to show concise, compact, neat lines so it is easy to compare figures without having to scroll up and down all the time. I feel that Xero is more interested in the look of the screen, when really the information is the most important part of an accounting system.
The important information seems to start half way down the screen!

Dashboard | Tax & Reporting - controlled by Subscriber/Partner
Having a Tax Reporting widget available where a Xero Partner is the subscriber rather than the file being set up on the website. This would allow accountants and bookkeepers who set up and share files with clients the ability to highlight 'important' reports we want our clients to look at on the dashboard and is also a useful shortcut for us as well

Dashboard - Business Overview Graphs
It would be nice to have a business overview dashboard similar to QuickBooks. The existing Xero dashboard is designed for bookkeepers and doesn’t have any valuable insights for business owners. Perhaps it would be better to have two different tabs on the dashboard, one for bookkeepers, and another one for business owners.

Xero log in - Choose default organisation
Set the demo company as the first company seen on log-in, or be able to set which one you want to see.
I often use my laptop when speaking with clients and for a split second after logging-in I am on another clients business dashboard until I can grab the mouse and change it to their business. I don't think this is good business practice.

User Roles - Purchase order only access
We wish to let some of our users have access to purchase orders, raising & viewing etc.
Currently if we give them access to purchase orders it also lets them see supplier balances and also click into the supplier and therefore into the accounts i.e invoices etc.
We would like our staff to just see the purchase orders and raise purchase orders but not have access to anything else.

Xero Dashboard - Sticky headings across other Xero pages
Hi there! Really loving the "sticky headers" in the new reporting - just so much easier to use and navigate. I wondered whether it would also be beneficial to implement something similar on the other Xero functions. Namely for employee details. Often, I would find that I would click a tab, scroll down and not find the information I was looking for (because it was actually in another tab facepalm), then I would have to scroll back up to the top of the page to select the right tab. Xero Accounting app - Ability to view watchlist from mobile dashboard
I would love for the Watched Accounts box from the website dashboard to show up on my phone app dashboard. Sometimes I just need to see a bank balance or expense balance while traveling. Currently have to go to online website to see those watched accounts on my dashboard. Would be super cool to have them on phone app dashboard as well.

User role - Read Only access to reports only
To be able to add restrictions to the Read Only permission for users so that bank account details are not available but allow users to only have access to reporting, income/expenditure transactions etc.
