We’ve reviewed your suggestion and moved it to Gaining support, which means it’s now open for votes and comments from the wider community.
In the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds that might help:
- You can set up an auto-forwarding rule in your email so your subscription invoices are automatically sent to your organisation’s email-to-bills address.
- If you’re using a UK, NZ, or AU organisation, you can also choose to receive your subscription invoices as eInvoices directly in the Bills tab.

Navigation - Use Tab key to confirm selection instead of Enter
As Xero started to update existing modules, the "new" modules, took on this idiotic philosophy/logic that users should need to click Enter before clicking Tab.
Previously, I could type an account name (or part of one), use up/down arrows to highlight the account in the list, then click Tab to confirm the selection and move to the next field.
This is (fortunately) still the case in the Create transaction screen.
This functionality was removed from New Invoicing.. but fortunately, it was eventually returned.
This functionality has been removed from Adjustments > Bank Fee function.
It's annoying as ****. Just fix…

Xero HQ - Ability for practice staff to create client groups
Some of our practice staff have permissions to create clients and also were ableto create client groups for the new client to be added to. With the new Xero Centralisation, those staff can no longer create client groups, or add clients to a group. To allow this we would have to increase their permissions to Practice Administrator. This new required level of access is over the top, just to allow someone to create a client group.

Navigation - relevant reports available from other drop downs
I love the way the various areas have been split now (Home Sales Purchases Payroll etc)
I would prefer that reports relating to each of those sections, be stored in their menus. IN the Reporting menu, I have 10 varying reports which make it a long menu path. If they were in their individual menus (e.g. Aged Receivables Summary in Sales menu; Aged Payables Summary in Purchase, all Payroll related reports in Payroll) it would be easier to find and more logical. You could have more reports visible as well in each Menu.
If this is not possible, can we…

User role - Public view ( GDPR SAFE )
I’d like to propose a “view-only” feature that would be fully GDPR-compliant and suitable for organisations that manage sensitive financial information—such as block management companies handling residents’ funds.
The idea is to allow every shareholder or resident to view the accounts and understand where money is being spent, while ensuring that all personal data is hidden. Reports -Ability to separate Account number and Account Name in different columns on Exported Reports
When exporting P&L or BS Reports into excel can the GL account number & description be separated into 2 separate columns - currently it exports as one field/column and needs a formula to separate the 2. This should be a standard feature ...surely

Navigation - Ability to hide recent organisations
When working in Xero during client meetings or on shared screens, the main menu prominently displays a list of recently accessed organisations. This exposes other client names, which is a confidentiality issue. The previous interface allowed this list to be collapsed, preventing accidental disclosure of sensitive client information.
Bring back the ability to minimise or hide the “Recent organisations” section—either as:A collapse/expand toggle (as previously available),
A user profile setting to disable the list entirely, or
A privacy mode that hides client names on demand.

XAA - Log each login when using the App
Amazed to discover that a 'login' from the app on a mobile phone using biometrics for example, does not count as a 'login' at all and is classified by Xero as an 'unlocking' event, but this is not logged or tracked at all (that we users can see). So in effect the 'Login History' in 'Settings' is completely flawed. This is also not recognised in 'History & Notes' unless the user actually makes changes. So if they are just in there viewing stats etc. they are invisible. This is really not ideal.

Compact Dashboard
Seeing more information on the dashboard without scrolling. I do not need to see account graphs. I need to see the actual data on one screen.

Have it so Read Only users can view imported bank statement, I don't know why this isn't already a thing....

Users - Login history only shows 60 days extend to longer period
I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

Homepage - Icons for shortcuts to features
Create a "widget" with a customizable icon shortcuts to have it where you can click on one button and get you to where you need to go instead of navigation through menus. Have a way to only show which icons appear. For me, it would be "invoices, expenses, refunds, chart of accounts, and inventory". See the attached mock up of what I'm talking about. It would be so nice to have shortcuts right there on the homepage.

Totally get it's not exactly what you're suggesting here but just as a highlight around shortcuts there are a few that can be used anywhere in Xero to help you quickly navigate to some features such as '/a' to get to the all bank accounts screen, or '/e' to go to all employees 😊

Navigation - Add shortcut to Tracking in the Accounting dropdown
When will the ability to add a shortcut to the settings like "tracking category" and "Fixed Assets" to the "accounting" dropdown menu be re-activated like you could do with the old task bar, or is this another case of "we don't care about our customers bookkeeper's productivity being lost" as all the other dropdown menus appear to have all the shortcuts?

You should see Fixed Assets within the Accounting menu already. However, you are correct that accessing Tracking Categories requires an additional click and are shown under the Accounting Settings option.

Global search - ability to search for amount including comma for thousand separator
This seems like an absolute no-brainer.
When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.
This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

User Role – Enhancement to Invoice Only (Sales) for Payment Management
We are encountering a limitation within the current user roles that is hindering our Sales team’s efficiency in managing customer accounts.
The Issue:
The existing 'Sales (Invoice Only)' role does not provide the necessary permission for sales staff to amend, edit, or delete payments applied to invoices. This is critical for adjusting client balances quickly during the sales and collection cycle.
The only alternative role grants full access, including Purchases/Accounts Payable, which we cannot provide to the Sales team due to internal control policies.

Navigation - Ability to rename menus
Please allow non-profits to change the terminology from sales to receipts etc on the new navigation pane. Sales is not appropriate for us . Thank you

Navigation - Search Button has been replaced with AI
Please bring back the search button in the top menu when windows are reduced size.
It has been replaced by the AI button, which is frankly not very useful. Search is used constantly.
Changes like this make Xero decreasingly viable for our employees to use on a laptop.

While not exactly the solution you're after, to save you clicks you could instead use your key board to type '/' which'll automatically open search for you 😊

Multicurrency - Option to not assign Tracking Categories to Bank Revaluation
Currently our monthly bank revaluation FX diff is being automatically coded by Xero to be split between tracking categories rather than simply being "unassigned". However, for our purposes, once USD are banked, they no longer "belong" to that tracking category and instead are general company funds. It is impossible to tell Xero to stop coding revaluation amounts to tracking categories but this doesn't make sense for the accounts, especially when a tracking category finished within the business months ago. It would make more sense for the FX funds held to be an unassigned tracking category once they are in the…

Onboarding - Add Xero to the list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business"
When creating a new organisation, there isn't an option to choose Xero from the dropdown list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business". I'm migrating from one org to another because of limitations in your PAYE scheme functionality. Right now, a user can't select Xero from the list, which may help you shed light on users who are either running into org challenges or who are power users of your tools.
