Chart of Accounts Watchlist - option for YTD transactions without code opening balances
In the Chart of Account Watchlist we are wanting to track in year categories that have opening balances. We're changing the Chart of Accounts to make this fit but a toggle to include or exclude opening balances would be really handy so you can choose to see only true in year transactions

Offline working
We need a way of allowing off-line working during any disruptions to the internet or other downtimes. So we can load Xero and continue working, with all edits during that time uploading when Xero gets back on-line?

User Permissions - Update for current options
Currently bookkeeper has to be set in Advisor similar to the senior accountant due to inability to publish reports. Often transactions went through to the locked period when advisor had to open the locked period during business hours.

Advisor role should be higher authority than standard, ie to be able to override locked period transaction without opening the period. Able to build new/custom report, submit BAS.

Product adjustments in App or with barcode scanner
Hi all, Currently, there is no built-in functionality in Xero to barcode products and update stock levels (log stock in and out). This would be really helpful - there are "inventory" apps available, but these are way over complex for most small business needs and very expensive, so not at all viable.
Failing that, the ability to access products and services via the mobile app and quickly and easily make adjustments (i.e. increase or decrease product values) either by scanning or by a simple click of a button would be an excellent substitute.
I imagine the second option (in-app adjustments)…

Standard User Permissions
I would like the ability to deselect Bank Accounts & Balances from the Standard user settings. This currently is defaulted to reconcile & edit statement lines, which means some users who need standard user access for other sections are able to see the bank feeds on their home page. If I down grade them to Invoice Only, they then cannot access the full functions needed for their role. Would also like Edit Settings to be optional on Standard User.

set date
I would love to be able to set a particular month when entering data. All the purchase invoices arrive at the beginning of the next month and I have to keep changing the day and month. Just being able to change the day would save time. Also when copying an invoice why not keep the date the same as the date on the invoice you are copying, in that way I could use that facility to enter all of one particular month's invoices.

For the love of sanity!!!
Please please please stop making Zero pretty and fix real problems that we know you know about ie user levels. Our WHOLE team does not need to know every dollar that is spent by the company, they do not need to know how much each other is paid, makes it so hard for HR. Causes office problems. I know you dont get it, but would you please at least try??? Also could you please please please fix moving a line in invoicing. Have you ever actually tried to do so?? I guess not!!!

Annual Billing
Annual Subscription billing to XERO. Why are we paying monthly for a service that we have committed our company accounts to? One bill, annually, with autorenew. Cut down the amount of Xero invoices by 91.66%! Win-win surely?

Granular Purchasing Permissions Without Financial Visibility
would like to request more granular user permissions for purchasing functions.
Specifically, I need to allow a user to:
Create and manage purchase orders
Access supplier/contact records for operational purposesBut restrict them from:
Viewing bills
Seeing any financial values (amounts, totals, pricing)
Accessing financial data within contact recordsThis would be particularly useful for operational or procurement staff who need to manage purchasing workflows without access to sensitive financial information.
Currently, permission levels require granting broader financial visibility than is appropriate for these roles.
A solution could include:
A “Purchasing Only (No Financials)” role, or

Contacts - Limited user role that prevents users from creating new contacts.
Contacts are all over the place. Anyone can create a contact, there are no proper restrictions in place, and user permissions are extremely limited and basic.

Ability for advisors to merge live Xero subscriptions with expired free trial accounts where client has created duplicates.
A recurring problem we have is when clients sign up following a free trial but then end up creating a new/duplicate subscription. This may essentially be an issue with the UI that the client sees, but it would be useful to have the option for advisors to merge live Xero subscriptions with expired free trial accounts in these situations - or at least send a request through to Xero to carry out the task.

Statement ageing periods
I've just moved from a different program. Most things are much better, except for customer statements. No ageing periods on the statement. My suggestion - remove the remittance advice and put in an ageing period table.

Customer Statement Layout
Ability to edit customer statement layout. I've just converted to Xero and find it a lot better than the previous program I was using, except in one respect. The customer statement is SO old-fashioned. It has the remittance advice cut-off slip, which was very helpful back in the early 2000s, when people still used cheques. Now, with online payments, it is not necessary and it makes the whole statement seem very old-fashioned.

Find and Recode - Warning that highlights impact when recoding tax type
Find and Recode should not be able to change tax type without fair warnings in Sales Invoices.
This is a risky feature to be used without warning. I have noticed that it doesn't change the sales invoice, which it shouldn't. But surprise was it could change any invoices selected no matter if those were already issued/ paid/ closed etc.

Since its introduction, the Xero app has had a significantly positive impact on my clients, enhancing their overall accounting experience and improving efficiency in managing their finances. I greatly appreciate the value the platform continues to provide.
However, I would like to raise a concern regarding the absence of the demo company feature on the Xero mobile application. Currently, the demo company is only accessible via the web-based platform, which presents a challenge when demonstrating the app’s capabilities to prospective clients using mobile devices.

not automatically add clients to a firm user upon inviting them into the practice
General overhaul of user permissions. Including: When a new user is added to the practice at the admin level, they are automatically added to all clients in the practice. For large firms this is problematic and would be better if all users were only given access to the demo account upon invitation.
