Navigation | Reporting and Accounting tabs together
As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.

Multicurrency - Support cryptocurrency directly, or have cheaper crypto apps
Please investigate cheaper crypto aggregation services than the ones available currently in your apps section. Currently (Aug 2025) all the ones there are for enterprise, or businesses that trade a LOT in crypto. And the prices are ludicrous for those of us with small amounts of crypto assets.
Maybe get the IRD to fund your research and development of this kind of thing, because it will make proper tax reconciliation possible, and their investment will pay dividends.
As an example, ZenLedger (https://zenledger.io/) lets us integrate all this information. It still costs a yearly fee (per tax year) but…

Navigation - Add Urgent or Priority to Projects menu
Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones. Upcoming changes are very useful. However, a small suggestion re. the home page menu: As an Accountant in practice would like the following order.Home

Navigation - Sub menus on Purchases drop down for different statuses
On the Sales menu, I would like a sub-menu/fly-out to the right of Invoices with links to the Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment, Paid, and Repeating tabs on the Invoices page. This would enable me to go directly to the tab I want, saving a click or two, and reduce page load time instead of always landing on the default tab then having to click the one I actually want. Clicking Invoices should still go to the All tab. Same could be done on the Purchases menu for Bills.
Alternatively, instead of a sub-menu/fly-out, add Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment,…

Understanding that sub menus or more levelled drop downs could be helpful in some places, this is an idea our product team have a close eye on.

Navigation - Move Tax within the Reporting or Accounting menu
I'd prefer to see the Tax Menu consolidated into either the Reporting or Accounting menu. Having more options just adds clutter and unnecessarily overwhelms users.

Adding 'statements' to the Sales drop down navigation. Simple addition, rather than having to go through the full Invoice page to send statements at EOM.

Organisation settings - Setting to remove data 7+ years old
In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.
I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that…
11 votesAppreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.
Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;
- You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
- Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date

Navigation | Tab headings - Remove the word Xero, leave title of tab
Is there a way that we could see the names of opened Tabs so that we could see the name of what we are working on such as Balance Sheet instead of seeing Xero | Balance Sheet. When we open HST/HST returns, it shows GST/HST Returns which is great.
We know we are with in Xero. If Xero has to show up, it could be added to the end of the Tab heading. This way, opened Tabs would be a breeze to drag in alphabetical order. Xero accounting app - Fully functional same as website.
It would be nice if the Xero app was fully functional like the website. I have clients that only use tablets and rarely use the website. Making the app identical to the website in feature would make it easier for them to do things

Permissions - Ability to set level of Approvals for different transactions

55 votesWe appreciate the feedback and interest in being able to set different levels of approval across different transaction types in Xero atm. Currently the draft permission will enable a user to create draft transactions in an org with out the ability to approve, while the Sales Invoice Only role will enable a user to create and approve invoices or quotes without access to purchases, and similarly the Invoice Only Purchases role will allow a user to create and approve Purchase transactions without access to Sales.
To better understand the ask in this idea can you share exactly the type of set up you would be looking to achieve to help with entering information in your organisation.

Xero Accounting app | Reconciliation - Show tax for suggestions
Hi, on the mobile app, it would be really helpful, if when reconciling bank entries, when xero comes uip with its "suggestion", that is also displays the VAT line. Saves having to go into the suggeestion edit and check VAT is applied correclty
1 voteHi Ray, we understand how helpful it'd be to see the VAT/tax line directly on the automated reconciliation suggestion in the Xero Accounting mobile app. Currently, the mobile reconciliation suggestion card doesn’t show the tax line, which means extra taps and added steps.
This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. Your votes and comments help us understand how important this feature is to the wider Xero community and guide our product team’s priorities.

Xero Login - Authenticate with Face ID on desktop
Hi Xero. I can log into Xero on my phone using facial recognition, but it's not available on my desktop, why is that? Should be easy to do, right? Current MFA whilst necessary is cumbersome, facial ID is simple and safe.

Dashboard - Show current exchange rates on dashboard
It would be useful to be able to see today's exchange rates on the dashboard - I use information on the dashboard to prepare a weekly report and it's annoying to have to go to another screen to display exchange rates which also form part of my Excel report.

We've reviewed your idea to be able to see today's exchange rates directly on the dashboard. We can see how having this information readily available would streamline your weekly reporting process.
Your idea is now open to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others who work with multiple currencies can now comment to share how this feature would improve their own workflows.🙂

Online/Offline synching, to enter data when no internet connection.
Offline/Online Syncing Xero Accounting Desktop Program which allows for Backup?
When you dont have internet connection and you need to keep the staff working, obviously the file is not distributed to the cloud, but when the computer gets internet access it Syncs all of its data with the cloud. Xero, when internet connection is lost, you could still use all the same functionality, then once it gets online then it Syncs all the information with the cloud.

If we were to work on a change like this, we'd have to consider the implications this could have if multiple people worked on the same items while they were offline, and how this data would sync when they reconnected to the internet.
