Manual Journal - Allow standard users access to Manual journal screen
For some reason "standard users" cannot see Manual Journals in the accounting menu.
Please allow standard users to access Manual Journals from the Accounting menu rather than having to go to reports. Its just a time waster.

User permissions - Ability to bulk delete users
completing a cert IV in accounting and bookkeeping you have to become a user for approximately 10 different companies. Therefore once you have finished your course they sit in your My Xero, the only way to remove yourself as a user it to do each one, can you have an option to remove yourself as a user for multiple companies in one step.

Import Accounting Data
Given there is an option to 'Export Accounting Data' in 'General Ledger format', why is there no corresponding facility to Import in 'General Ledger Format '? I have a client with many problem transactions locked by accountants. The solution is to start again with a copy of the accounts, which involves splitting the exported data into several different import templates.
6 votesAppreciate wanting to make the process of setting up a new Xero org, especially in the scenario you've mentioned as simple as possible, Kevan.
While this may be something we look at longer term I want to be open that we don't have any plans for a single import across all areas of Xero right now.
There are third party app partners available through our Xero app store that you may like to engage if you'd like help in this migration and set up process.
We'll keep getting a sense of community interest from your idea here and share if there are any updates planned.

User Settings - Option to update name without changing historical data in org
Allow to change user name for a specific email, without changing the name on 'ALL" historical notes on profiles.
Currently, if i have a new user/employee doing the same roll and a previous user/employee, with the same email/log in; if i change this user name, ALL of the notes for that email account log in get changed to the current user name, so it is difficult to make out who actually made that/those notes without looking at the dates to work out when that person/started or left the role!3 votes -
MFA - Move cursor to code field automatically
When I login to Xero, I enter my email address and password and am taken to the second page (MFA).
I'm then asked for the authenticator code, but I have to click into the field to enter the code.
Xero knows that there is an almost 100% likelihood that the first (and only) thing I am going to do on that page is enter the MFA code.
Xero should automatically have the cursor in that field so that I can type the code without clicking into the field.

Our product team have reviewed this and it's something they'd like to take a closer look into longer term, however isn't roadmapped just yet.

Option to turn off error messages and pop up notifications for the entire organisation.

Demo Company - Clear ALL, don't reset, optional data reload and cloning
This idea has been raised again and again but XERO isn't listening!!!
The demo company is a great idea, but it makes no sense to automatically reload all the "duff" data every 30 days.
It's VERY simple to achieve a very useful and flexible feature, by....
1) Be able to clear all the data in the Demo Company
2) Make the 30 day reload of useless data optional

Xero Accounting app | Tablet users - Screen Rotate
I have the a tablet and use a cover with a keyboard, it would be so much easier to use the app if the screen didn't default to portrait mode and activating the screen keyboard. Please allow the Xero app to rotate to landscape so that I can use the cover keyboard.

MFA | Role that can enable another user to reset multi factor authentication
Have a designated advisor / subscriber have the ability to remove multi factor authentication from a user so that a new method can be set up by the user.
Purpose: For those businesses that have operators which are not tech savy, having either the subscriber or the advisor who holds a professional membership / qualification, who have passed ID verification processes, let the designated person have the ability to toggle off multi factor authentication so that the user and re set up their authentication process so that when their phone is lost or stolen and their alternative entry points don't…

Xero Login - Enable Passkeys as a replacement to passwords
Passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/passkeys/) are rapidly taking over passwords and are infinitely more secure than passwords.

83 votesHi team, we've just launched passkeys to our first group of users. From this week, Xero Me app users who haven't set up MFA yet will be able to use passkeys to log into Xero. Next, we'll be progressively rolling this out to more users over the coming months. We look forward to and welcome your feedback here. Investing in AI
I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account.

History & Notes - Login - Timestamps for login history
Audit trail of logins to Xero - there seems to be a series of different visual aids and short screen reports showing when a user last logged in, however from an audit perspective, it would be ideal to have a report that can be run for set periods showing when users have logged in. The information to run this type of report is there from the History and Notes report and the Assurance Dashboard. However a report that shows a time/date stamp would be ideal as evidence in cases of fraud/performance management
28 votesHi team, we appreciate the feedback and why you'd like to be able to look at history of logins for an organisation.
Right now, while not a full audit trail like you're after here there is the Assurance Dashboard where you can view User Activity to see what actions users within an org have been taking.
As many will know the History & notes report will also give you deeper insight into some of the actions made by users across your org.
Being open this isn't something we have immediate plans for developing but will continue to keep a close pulse on this idea here and support it continues to receive. If there are any updates we will share.

Navigation - Freeze bar at the top of the page to save scrolling
Can the main pull down bar (Dashboard, Business, Accounting, Projects, Contacts) be fixed at the top of the page? When viewing a screen that has 100 or more lines, it would be a lot more convenient to have immediate access to this than having to scroll all the way back up.

With our reimagined navigation this is something our product teams considered closely, however there is a bit of work involved to achieve what's being asked and we want to be open it's not in the roadmap right now. Cash In/Out Graph - Ability to remove
Can you please add functionality to permanently turn off cash in/out graph for those of us who find it irritating
5 votesHi Luise, while not at a user level you can Edit the Dashboard in an organisation to remove the Cash In and Out graph. You can also move the placement of the widget on your Dashboard so it's not in primary view.

Email templates - Remove the organisation name
As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to only show the organisations logo or to remove the organisation name from the email. This would help in customizing what is shown to recipients/clients.

12 votesHi team, the organisation name and logo shown on the invoice email is taken from the organisations details page. You can add your organisations logo on this page which will appear on emails sent from your organisation.

Xero - Resize in conjunction with browser window
When resizing my browser window, many of the Xero screens (including Bills, Timesheets, Invoices) do not resize. Instead they chop off on the right hand side. There is not even the option of a slider to get over to the right.
I have tested this across two browsers IE and Chrome. Frequently I am working on a laptop with a small screen and this is really annoying. I would rather they scale up or down when I make my browser larger or smaller.

Search bar navigation
Many of my clients complain that they 'can't find what they are looking for' when using the top search bar facility. I too often struggle to find things unless I am specific and know the exact detail of a posting. A search return of more options would be very beneficial listing all transactions in relation to any word or value typed into the search bar.

I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for changing the logic of search results in the near term. However, I felt it might help to explain how this is working at present to understand results you may be seeing - Global search considers several factors in deciding which results to display, and in what order. These factors include, but aren't limited to:
- Document type – Document types searched most often get priority in the order of the search results. Contacts and invoices appear at the top of the results, as they’re the most popular search.
- Term frequency – The frequency the term you search for appears in the document.

Account Watchlist - Display a custom budget on accounts watchlist
On the Account Watchlist in the Dashboard, I would like to display a custom budget that I created for 2024 in lieu of the default 'overall budget' that it shows. Please make this feature possible as it will provide a good, quick snapshot on how we're trending to budget w/out having to pull up reports. An alternative would be to tag a custom budget as the 'default' that would appear in the accounts watchlist. Regardless, let's make this happen! Thanks for considering.

Xero Accounting app - Ability to switch between organisations when using different email address
Ability to switch between organisations on the Xero phone app. I presently work for several businesses and upload receipts/invoices as go. I presently would need to login and out to be able to do this as I have different email accounts for some of the businesses I work for. I am told that I can only do this if I use the same email account across all clients, this is not possible with in house email accounts.

Dashboard - Add custom shortcuts as required
It would be helpful to be able to add shortcut icons on the dashboard for all of the things you use every day instead of having to go through the dropdown menus. (similar to the way the old quickbooks used).
For example, have a way to put an "invoice" icon on the dashboard. Or add "spend money" on the dashboard. Basically have a way to add whatever shortcut icons you want as every business is different.

The '+' icon next to Search in the blue banner enables you to create a range of different document types, similarly there are shortcuts that can be entered in Search from the blue navigation bar that will take you to different features for example entering 'r' you can quickly select and be taken to 'All reports'
