    Hi Martin, thanks for your feedback. As you may have seen we're in the process of releasing a new Homepage which will be rolling out to all customers over the next few months.

    Just to check with your idea here do you happen to have this new Homepage yet or are you referring to the existing Dashboard?

  2. Read Only - Allow viewing imported bank statement

    Have it so Read Only users can view imported bank statement, I don't know why this isn't already a thing....

  3. I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

    Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. Currently the History and notes Assurance dashboard shows the date and time for the year. We can appreciate that the Users - login history should show a period longer than 60 days, We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.   4. Create a "widget" with a customizable icon shortcuts to have it where you can click on one button and get you to where you need to go instead of navigation through menus. Have a way to only show which icons appear. For me, it would be "invoices, expenses, refunds, chart of accounts, and inventory". See the attached mock up of what I'm talking about. It would be so nice to have shortcuts right there on the homepage.

    Appreciate your feedback and great visual understanding with your mockup there, Chris. Totally get it's not exactly what you're suggesting here but just as a highlight around shortcuts there are a few that can be used anywhere in Xero to help you quickly navigate to some features such as '/a' to get to the all bank accounts screen, or '/e' to go to all employees 😊

    We'll get a sense of interest building for homepage icons through your idea here.

  5. When will the ability to add a shortcut to the settings like "tracking category" and "Fixed Assets" to the "accounting" dropdown menu be re-activated like you could do with the old task bar, or is this another case of "we don't care about our customers bookkeeper's productivity being lost" as all the other dropdown menus appear to have all the shortcuts?

    Thanks for your feedback on navigation shortcuts. We appreciate you explaining how important quick access to Tracking Categories and Fixed Assets is for your workflow. You should see Fixed Assets within the Accounting menu already. However, you are correct that accessing Tracking Categories requires an additional click and are shown under the Accounting Settings option.

  6. This seems like an absolute no-brainer.

    When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.

    This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

  7. We are encountering a limitation within the current user roles that is hindering our Sales team’s efficiency in managing customer accounts.

    The Issue:

    The existing 'Sales (Invoice Only)' role does not provide the necessary permission for sales staff to amend, edit, or delete payments applied to invoices. This is critical for adjusting client balances quickly during the sales and collection cycle.

    The only alternative role grants full access, including Purchases/Accounts Payable, which we cannot provide to the Sales team due to internal control policies.

    Thanks for raising this idea about user role permissions for payment management. It’s a great starting point, and we can see how more granular sales role controls could help with managing access and maintaining internal checks.

  8. When doing the year end processes, an accountant should be able to unlock the period for their log in only ie 'unlock for me only' as if the client or others have the same user access, they can change the accounts while we are working.

    Appreciate your sharing on lock date controls. Being able to remove lock dates for specific users can help maintain accounting information .

  9. I’d love to see a feature added that helps prevent accidental data loss when entering conversion balances. Currently, if you leave the page without saving, there’s no warning and it’s easy to lose your work. I’d really appreciate a dialogue window that pops up when you try to navigate away with unsaved changes.

    Good to understand the rationale for your idea here, thanks Hilary. Being open we don't have any plans for enabling users to change the naming of menu's, however we'd like to get a sense of the interest in this sort of capability and understanding more of the terminology that most resonates for our customers here.

  11. Please bring back the search button in the top menu when windows are reduced size.

    It has been replaced by the AI button, which is frankly not very useful. Search is used constantly.

    Changes like this make Xero decreasingly viable for our employees to use on a laptop.

    Hi team, appreciate your feedback on the new navigation and though we don't have any immediate plans around changing the placement of global search we'll continue to track the interest for this here.

    While not exactly the solution you're after, to save you clicks you could instead use your key board to type '/' which'll automatically open search for you 😊

  12. Currently our monthly bank revaluation FX diff is being automatically coded by Xero to be split between tracking categories rather than simply being "unassigned". However, for our purposes, once USD are banked, they no longer "belong" to that tracking category and instead are general company funds. It is impossible to tell Xero to stop coding revaluation amounts to tracking categories but this doesn't make sense for the accounts, especially when a tracking category finished within the business months ago.     Hi Imogen, thanks for sharing your thoughts on multicurrency bank revaluations. We understand how having FX differences automatically assigned to tracking categories doesn’t always fit your workflow.

  13. When creating a new organisation, there isn't an option to choose Xero from the dropdown list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business". I'm migrating from one org to another because of limitations in your PAYE scheme functionality. Right now, a user can't select Xero from the list, which may help you shed light on users who are either running into org challenges or who are power users of your tools.

  14. In search since I've used Xero, when searching for an Invoice Number - results would appear and a coloured box with the status - red for Awaiting Payment, and green for Paid. A handy visual meaning I didn't have to actually read the status.
    Now in the new Search - these colours have disappeared. Why? I now have to scan up and down and actually read what it says without my visual guide.     Thanks for raising your feedback with us here. It's really good to understand what's important to help our customers working in Xero.

    If possible it'd be great to get more detail as to why you're often needing to access the Tracking Settings? In many places you'll find that you can add new tracking options for a category while on the go and entering transactions in your org, so would appreciate deeper understandings of your business flows here.

  16. I have seen the new Xero update, and the search bar has changed (only looks and complaints)
    1. The search bar stays open, so you manually have to close it, which is slightly annoying.
    2. Your search stays in the bar when it is closed. So when you open the bar again to search for something else, you have to delete the original search. If it has been a while since you last searched, you forget, and it can be so frustrating.

  17. I think the new menu bar is great as its closer to the original layout from about 9-10 years ago.

    But super annoying that I can only access Products & Services via Sales.

    All our purchasing is run through Xero, all our sales is run via external POS that we import summary csv, not detail, so no products or services.

    Seeing as the new navigation bar is already quite full and having a separate productions option is not visually viable, would it not make sense to have the Products and Services link feature in both Sales & Purchases?

  18. Before the update, we were able to add settings like Report Codes to favourites, so it would appear automatically on the drop down list. Can you please reinstate the ability to add specific settings to favourites

  19. New Xero ribbon - can it be amended?
    Too much! There are things I don't use or need day to day. "Dashboard" became "home". Ok not great, but okay.
    The the "+" icon on the ribbon gives me the shortcut to anything.
    Xero has just gone and cluttered it up with stuff I don't need day to day. Like "Payroll" and "Reporting". Anyone else agree/disagree? How can it be amended from the users pov?

    Appreciate your feedback, and it's good to understand our different users needs when moving across Xero. Its good to hear that the '+' icon helps you get to most places you need.

    I want to assure you we did a lot of user research and testing of the new navigation to ensure it would suit the needs of majority of businesses.

    We'd like to continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea but want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans of enabling any time in the near future.
