  1. I would like a link to the Xero portal where tax documents are sent for e-signing. Rather than having to find an email with the link to the Xero portal to e-sign tax documents, it would be helpful for clients to be able to simply click a link within Xero to go back to the Xero portal and see past signed documents or anything that is waiting to be signed.

  3. Not everyone has access too or wants to use an authenticator app. I would like to have a code send to my mobile or email as the authentication method. When we setup Xero asks for a backup email address which codes can be sent too. So if codes can easily be sent to a backup email address, then why cant they just go to the users email address ? Please consider allowing code to be emailed to the user as multi-factor authentication method, instead of only allowing an email to a backup email address.

  4. I am going through a bad divorce and I have to give my ex wife read only access to my company file however i am going against court orders and not giving her access as i know she will take invoices, purchase orders and product sell and buy prices to my competitors once our settlement is complete.

    I need xero to create a read only service that does not show invoices, purchase orders, bills, inventory and also removes the report tab. pretty much just allow her to see bank accounts and where money is getting allocated.

    Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. Xero’s current roles (including Read only) are intentionally broad, but we know they’re often too ‘all or nothing’. We can’t give a timeline for specific changes to Read only yet, but the direction is definitely toward more configurable roles and tighter control over what view-only users can see.

  5. Standard user to be able to run and publish reports. Standard user to be able to prepare BAS but not submit (current set up), able to lock period but not modify locked period.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having a quicker way to return to recent searches could help when moving between clients, transactions, and reports.

    The suggestion is to add a recent search history dropdown in the global search bar, making it easier to revisit previous searches without re-entering the same details.

    For now, opening commonly used items in separate browser tabs can help you move between workflows without losing your place. We’ll continue tracking this idea here so the community can share feedback and use cases to help shape future improvements.

  7. I am a Xero user (not Practice Hub/XeroHQ) with user access to 33 Xero files. Each day I need to go into each individual Xero file if I want to check what Bills are coming due or outstanding sales invoices. Would it be possible to improve the My Xero screen which shows all the Xero files I have access to to be more like a dashboard showing what is outstanding/due and what tasks are needed across all Xero files. Thanks :)

  9. New Inventory Permissions - Standard user automatically gets full control of inventory. Is it possible to customise this like you have in Invoice only to View,Edit etc?

    Could we please request further customisation of inventory permissions?

    Under the current permission structure (NEW), a standard user has the ability to edit and manage inventory. However, if reduced to Invoice only, they can view inventory items (which is helpful) but they lose the ability to view all invoices for a contact. This makes it difficult for them to properly review customer purchasing history.

    Thanks for the additional feedback! Understand how having these permissions for the Standard role would be beneficial, and this is something we do want to support but don't have a clear timeframe for just yet.

  10. It would be helpful to us if we could enter a bill into Xero, submit it, and then have the option to copy all the line details of that bill to an invoice, using the Sell Price in Products and Services (if they exist as items in the catalogue).

    Some of our customer transactions are literal 'we buy in, add mark-up, and sell on' and we currently have to enter both a bill and a separate invoice to achieve this. Being able to take a bill and copy it to a draft invoice, ready for adjustments, would be very useful…

  11. Users who only have access to expenses should still be able to ask to have their permissions removed. It is ridiculous that I have access to a company expenses dashboard that I shouldn't because I don't know the subscriber and can't remove myself.

  12. I recently noticed that all Standard Users in Xero are able to edit the settings on a client subscription. Is it possible to make this permission optional, so that the subscriber can decide whether or not to grant staff access to these settings?

  13. The Organisation settings page should have collapsible headings, similar to the Reports page, for clear, concise, and faster access to settings.

    Currently, the new look of the organisation settings page is a large step backwards. It is difficult to quickly find and select a setting area that is not part of the shortcut menu options in the new look homepage/menu rollout.

    The current organisation settings page is an exercise in excessive scrolling abilities to find the setting you need to access quickly.

  14. I have read the Xero feedback that multiple approval levels in XeroMe expenses is not on the roadmap (disspointing) but I would like to make a case for a specific situation. I have team managers that can approve other expenses, but they should not be able to approve their own expenses.

    Can we please have a check box, or option, that if someone is granted approver status, that they should or should not be able to approve their own expenses? Everyone needs a reviewer, but as it stands, if someone is granted approval rights, that individual can approve their own…

    Hi Brian, thanks for sharing your feedback. We understand the point in having an option to prevent users from approving their own expense claims, particularly for larger teams or businesses with more structured approval workflows.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and help our product teams better understand the demand for this type of approval permission setting.

  16. Proposed Feature: Quote Only User Role with Restricted Inventory Access

    Introduce a Quote Only user role in Xero that allows a user to create, edit, send and approve quotes while restricting access to all other parts of the system. The user should only see the quotes they created themselves and nothing else.

    The Quote Only user should be able to create quotes, edit their own quotes, send quotes to customers, and view inventory items with read only access.   17. Where you have a group of companies, it would be great if you could have a HomePage which consilidated the position across all Group companies. Forinstance if you had 3 subsidiaries under 1 topco, it would be great to see the cash balances, creditors and debtors of all 4 companies in one place.

  18. XERO is the only system I know which does not automatically add the hyphen between the numbers. e.g. 00-00-00 Instead XERO goes 000000 and you have to add 2 hyphens. This would just be nice!

  19. Anywhere we can add Notes (invoices, transactions, etc.) we should be able to tag other users. I'd like to write a note for my bookkeeper and tag her so she knows to go look at it.

    Those tags should then show up as notifications in that users console and/or some sort of "To-do" area.

  20. Please remove the latest update on Xero: when you copy an invoice it automatically opens a new tab on my laptop. I have more than 20 invoices to post everyday, I do not wish to have 20 tabs on my screen in the end. Not every update is a good update. When you don't have a better update, it's better to just maintain it.
