  1. Anywhere we can add Notes (invoices, transactions, etc.) we should be able to tag other users. I'd like to write a note for my bookkeeper and tag her so she knows to go look at it.

    Those tags should then show up as notifications in that users console and/or some sort of "To-do" area.

  2. Please remove the latest update on Xero: when you copy an invoice it automatically opens a new tab on my laptop. I have more than 20 invoices to post everyday, I do not wish to have 20 tabs on my screen in the end. Not every update is a good update. When you don't have a better update, it's better to just maintain it.

  3. Currently Product Idea notifications are either enabled or disabled.

    Which means I get a ridiculous amount of emails for every single product idea I've ever commented or voted on. And given Xero's inability to actually resolve any of these issues, the number of notifications is going up and up.

    Currently, because of the amount of complaints about the new homepage my inbox is full every morning.

    I don't want any more notifications reminding me how bad the new home page is. However, I do want notifications on a lot of the other 'Product Ideas' that I am following.

    Totally get it's still round about to the direct ask you have here, however did you know it's now possible to add a new tracking option as you enter an invoice?

    Maybe this could dave you from having to go to the Tracing Settings before entering your invoice?

    Either way we'll start to track the interest from others in having a quick access link for this, here.

  5. The 3 letters that are by the company name are automatically chosen by Xero, we should be allowed to change this to something relevant, for example, my company is called ACR Fabrications Ltd, common sense would dictate those 3 letters should be ACR yet xero has chosen AFL which is obviously the first letter of each part but that's not relevant to my company

  6. I am looking to restrict staff members from accessing Xero on unauthorised devices. This will ensure that only company issued devices are used to access Xero. Could Xero please consider this as a quick win?

    Thanks for raising this with us Nuha, we can see how restricting Staff access on unauthorised devices might be helpful for businesses. While this is currently not possible, we can open this idea up to the Xero community so other users who would like to see this change can also share their thoughts. We will monitor this space for more traction. Cheers!

  7. The current signup process, while being advertised for bookkeepers actually requires a registration with the TPB as a tax or BAS agent, however pure bookkeepers categorising transactions and doing account reconciliations have no need to lodge BAS' and hence no reason to obtain a BAS agent number.

    This oversight prohibits bookkeepers from signing up to the partner program and growing the platform.

    A simple "do you intend to make lodgements for your clients - yes/no" button before the "BAS agent number" input field would suffice.

    Appreciate you sharing the idea here Hamish. bookkeepers can’t sign up for the Xero partner programme without BAS/TPB registration at the moment. We understand this may not be useful for people who do not want to register for Tax. We'll open this idea up to the community so we can gain some support on it.     Hi Rosemarie, appreciate the ask to minimise clicks when accessing the Files library—those small efficiencies can make a big difference in day-to-day work.

    To be upfront, our Product team doesn’t currently have plans to add Files to the menu bar. That said, we’ve moved this idea into Gaining support so the community can add votes and comments, which helps us better gauge overall interest and impact.

    In the meantime, a quick tip you might find helpful: pressing the slash key (/ or /?) and then F will show a link to the Files Library that you can click straight away.

  10. I love the way the various areas have been split now (Home Sales Purchases Payroll etc)

    I would prefer that reports relating to each of those sections, be stored in their menus. IN the Reporting menu, I have 10 varying reports which make it a long menu path. If they were in their individual menus (e.g. Aged Receivables Summary in Sales menu; Aged Payables Summary in Purchase, all Payroll related reports in Payroll) it would be easier to find and more logical. You could have more reports visible as well in each Menu.

    Great to hear you like the new layout of the navigation, Jason.

    Appreciate how further customisation of reports and possible nesting under the relevant menu drop downs could be useful. We'll get a gauge of the interest in this from others in the community here.

    This isn't something we have plans for atm, but will share if this gets picked up at all.

  11. I’d like to propose a “view-only” feature that would be fully GDPR-compliant and suitable for organisations that manage sensitive financial information—such as block management companies handling residents’ funds.

    The idea is to allow every shareholder or resident to view the accounts and understand where money is being spent, while ensuring that all personal data is hidden. For example, where an individual apartment appears in the ledger, identifying information would be removed. To avoid jigsaw identification, each apartment could be linked to a classification matrix—for instance, showing it as a two-bedroom unit paying $2,000 per year—without revealing the resident’s identity.   12. When exporting P&L or BS Reports into excel can the GL account number & description be separated into 2 separate columns - currently it exports as one field/column and needs a formula to separate the 2. This should be a standard feature ...surely

  13. Amazed to discover that a 'login' from the app on a mobile phone using biometrics for example, does not count as a 'login' at all and is classified by Xero as an 'unlocking' event, but this is not logged or tracked at all (that we users can see). So in effect the 'Login History' in 'Settings' is completely flawed. This is also not recognised in 'History & Notes' unless the user actually makes changes. So if they are just in there viewing stats etc. they are invisible. This is really not ideal.
    I would like to see app logins included…

  15. I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

  16. Create a "widget" with a customizable icon shortcuts to have it where you can click on one button and get you to where you need to go instead of navigation through menus. Have a way to only show which icons appear. For me, it would be "invoices, expenses, refunds, chart of accounts, and inventory". See the attached mock up of what I'm talking about. It would be so nice to have shortcuts right there on the homepage.

    Appreciate your feedback and great visual understanding with your mockup there, Chris. Totally get it's not exactly what you're suggesting here but just as a highlight around shortcuts there are a few that can be used anywhere in Xero to help you quickly navigate to some features such as '/a' to get to the all bank accounts screen, or '/e' to go to all employees 😊

    We'll get a sense of interest building for homepage icons through your idea here.

When will the ability to add a shortcut to the settings like "tracking category" and "Fixed Assets" to the "accounting" dropdown menu be re-activated like you could do with the old task bar, or is this another case of "we don't care about our customers bookkeeper's productivity being lost" as all the other dropdown menus appear to have all the shortcuts?

    Thanks for your feedback on navigation shortcuts. We appreciate you explaining how important quick access to Tracking Categories and Fixed Assets is for your workflow. You should see Fixed Assets within the Accounting menu already. However, you are correct that accessing Tracking Categories requires an additional click and are shown under the Accounting Settings option.

  18. This seems like an absolute no-brainer.

    When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.

    This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

  19. We are encountering a limitation within the current user roles that is hindering our Sales team’s efficiency in managing customer accounts.

    The Issue:

    The existing 'Sales (Invoice Only)' role does not provide the necessary permission for sales staff to amend, edit, or delete payments applied to invoices. This is critical for adjusting client balances quickly during the sales and collection cycle.

    The only alternative role grants full access, including Purchases/Accounts Payable, which we cannot provide to the Sales team due to internal control policies.

  20. When doing the year end processes, an accountant should be able to unlock the period for their log in only ie 'unlock for me only' as if the client or others have the same user access, they can change the accounts while we are working.
