  1. We use reports every day, far more often than analytics. I would prefer Favourite Reports to be above both of the Analytics sections in the Reports menu.

Hi team, we really value your input and sharing back on the new navigation. We'd like to confirm as those in the beta may have already noticed - we have released a change to the order of the Reports menu!

As raised here we have moved your Favourite reports up and shifted Analytics beneath. Thanks again for your feedback and keep letting us know what else you think good improve things through Product Ideas 😊

  2. The “Favourite” feature in the Reporting section is excellent, please consider expanding this to other dropdowns or sections across the platform.

This could help address the long-standing need for sub-menu shortcuts or easier navigation, especially for commonly used tools like Repeating Invoices or the Chart of Accounts.

Note: historically, I’ve used browser bookmarks as a workaround for this. However, recent updates seem to have made these bookmarks unreliable, some now fail to link correctly, and this issue appears to be getting worse. I fear with this update It may no longer be viable to rely on bookmarks as quick links.

Hi community, thanks for your feedback here! Chart of accounts page is now available within the Accounting menu 😊

In terms of bookmarks you may have saved, there's a chance with the change some bookmarks may have stopped working - In this scenario you should be able to bookmark the page again and it'll work in the new experience.

  3. With the new Navigation menu, the Search for an Organisation will only appear once you have gone into more than four Organisations on the one day - per response from Xero Support:
"Currently, the Search option to swap between organisation only appear if you've recently accessed four or more organisation from your Xero HQ.
So, it may happen that at the start of the day you won't have the search option, but once you have accessed four or more organisation from Xero HQ you will get the Search option."

Need to have the Search option available when first login -…

Hi everyone, I wanted to share that our team have resolved the issue that was raised with this idea. All users should find they can view and use the Search option from the blue navigation when wanting to change organisations 😁Again, thanks for sharing with us here!

  4. Please make it so that the user can begin typing immediately upon pressing the Search Magnifying Glass Icon. The new Search Magnifying Glass Icon button for this prototype needs to be manually clicked on twice before anything can be typed in via keyboard due to the cursor not automatically placing itself inside the search box that pops up. This is bad.

Hi team, as you may have noticed we've made an update within the new navigation, and you'll now find that your cursor will automatically default to the Search field when you click on the magnifying glass icon from the blue navigation menu. 😊

Thank you for sharing with us on this idea.

  5. I would prefer Projects to remain with its own Menu dropdown on the Homepage, not included under the Sales menu. I like the introduction of the "Expenses to review" and "Recent Invoice payments", but I would prefer to see them as a sub-menu from the Homepage dropdowns, not on the homepage.

We appreciate receiving feedback on how adding Projects to the main navigation would be useful to you.

As you may have noticed this is something our Product team paid close attention to and you'll find if you use Projects it is now its own menu on the new navigation experience.

Thanks again for sharing, and keep letting us know what other enhancements could make a difference for you on Xero Product Ideas!

  6. Unlimited favourite reports on dropdown menu as previously existed.
The new dashboard only allows for 20. It's disappointing that we have less functionality in this area.

Hi team, pleased to share that we've had a quick turn around here. We appreciate there are some organisation's that customise and favourite multiple reports and would like these easily accessible from the Reporting menu. We have added the ability to favourite >20 reports and make these available from the Reporting menu.

While there's no limit now to the # of reports you can favourite - for ease of access we'd recommend regularly reviewing and limiting the number of reports you favourite in your organisation.

  7. Would love to see the Accounting menu split so that there are new menus for Reporting & Bank Accounts. Show under the Accounting menu all the actions (journals, fixed assets, chart of accounts, advanced accounting, plus favourites). Then a separate menu for Reporting - listing the different reporting sections Adviser, Custom, Drafts, Archived etc. plus favourites). And a separate menu for Bank Accounts (reconciliation report, bank accounts, bank rules, etc).

Thanks again for your feedback through the idea here. We appreciate there are many different ways our customers feel menus and ways to navigate Xero features and products would best serve their needs.

There was lots of research behind the top level menus that you now have with Xero's new navigation experience - As requested here you'll find Reporting is now it's own menu. And, while Bank Accounts are within the Accounting menu, you'll find we've added quick options for Bank Rules, through the new Homepage which is coming soon you can quickly access reconciliation reports, manage the account, or enter transactions.

  8. Hi, there is a critical bug while doing reconciliation that make the app unusable. When trying to link a transfer made in a currency with an invoice made in another currency. The reconciliation doesn't show an error even though the recieved money is incorrect and doesn't match the invoice amount.

Hi Aym, I understand you've also recently connected with our specialists at Xero Support on this.

To share for others on the idea here, in this scenario if the statement line is a partial payment you can use the 'Split' option in bank reconciliation to enter the currency value the amount equates to.

At the bottom of the page you'll see a message highlighting where the calculated exchange rate is significantly different to the defined currency rate for the day.

  9. For those of us that have multiple entities in Xero - Somewhere along the way an extra step (click) has been added when changing from one entity to another, you can no longer just choose your required entity from the drop-down menu (in the top left-hand corner), but now have to click on the drop-down menu and then click 'Change organisation' to show and select your entity.

Are we able to remove this unneccessary extra step (click) and have it back how it was originally?

Sorry we've not rounded back to the idea here sooner, team. Testing this within our new navigation this is now working as requested here. From the organisation name you can drop down to select a recent organisation and simply click to navigate to it. If the organisation you need to hop into isn't on the immediate list you'll just want to do a quick search to look it up and click through. 🙂

  10. Most Small business owners like myself are not accountants. Getting Xero working and using the integrations with hubdoc has been lots of trial and error and frustration. It would be so much easier if as part of starting an account I had someone for the first month to get online with me who can see my screen and walk me through how to do all of the basics such as: 1. How do I correctly bring a receipt into xero through hubdoc so it matches to transactions I can reconcile? 2. How do I setup the quote system to work…

Hi Joshua, I see you've also been in touch with our Xero Support team for help with some of your questions and advice on setting up.

Our Support team are able to offer some of this sort of guidance, and can answer specific questions. We also have some great getting started resources available on Xero Central with guidance, courses and content that can be a good starting point.

For one-to-one help for the best setup for your particular business, or questions on meeting reporting and regulatory needs we'd recommend using the Advisor Directory, to find a Xero-certified adviser in your area.

  11. When importing a bank statement, it would be great if just before completing the import, Xero could show the end bank statement balance based on the existing bank balance and the transactions that are about to be imported. This could then be checked with the actual bank statement to make sure it matches.

  12. As an organisation we want to sign up to cyber essentials. It will reduce our insurance liabilities as well as provide us with greater digital security. Currently Xero does not mandate the use of MFA authentication. I would like it to. Primarily for active users but ultimately for staff accessing payslips only as well.

  13. Not a major one but I feel the whole online site needs a facelift.
Information is not given in an easy to process way and this can make navigating the program more complicated than it seems to be.

I recently transferred over from MYOB and where I feel the general program of Xero is better for ease of reconciling etc. some tasks can feel super overcomplicated and difficult to carry out due to poor layout and outdated visuals. This is something MYOB seem to have done well, Xero seems clunky and outdated in comparison, whilst having all the programming and…

Sorry we haven't returned to update you here sooner, Rebecca. As you may have noticed we have recently given our Navigation a bit of a facelift 🙂

There was a lot of research that wen into the new experience and we hope you'll find moving across different areas of Xero smoother.

You can find out more about the new navigation and what's to come soon with our new homepage experience.

We appreciate your feedback here and hope you like the changes.

  14. User role- Limit invoice access to seeing and working on only user's own invoices. So as to enable different user to work on their own invoices without having access to other user invoices. Only manager should have access to all members of his team .

Hi team, coming back across this idea I wanted to confirm that this is how the Invoice Only - Drafts role currently works - Someone with this role will be able to create and submit bills and invoices they enter to be approved by someone else with the right permissions in the org.

They will only have access to view invoices and bills that they have entered themselves, and will not be able to view bills or invoices raised by others in the organisation.

Danny, it sounds like you're referring to the Invoice Only - Purchase role which will enable a user to raise and approve bills they have entered. The user is not able to access Sales, but they'll be able to view any bills or purchase orders that have been raised by any user in the organisation. We have a somewhat similar idea for a tick box option…

  16. Please can we have the product enhancement for the LOCKED DATES, whereby the Advisor role can LOCK THE DATES to stop other employees/departments posting entries, but the Advisor can OVERIDE the lock dates to post month end/year end journals.
    This is critical !!

    Hi there

There are two Lock Date settings in the Financial Settings screen; one for all users except advisers, and one for all users.

To do this, you could leave the 'all users' date blank, and set a relevant lock date for 'all users except advisers'.

This would allow Adviser users to bypass the Lock Date, while still leaving this restriction in place for other users.

Alternatively, you might leave the 'all users' setting in place to prevent Advisers unknowingly making an change prior to the Lock Date.

If the Adviser does need to override this, they could temporarily delete this date, or move it forwards.

  17. It would be useful if a Xero Me App - Approver had the ability to view a break down of the hours an employee works across the week (not just the total hours worked) before approving the timesheet. I see there is a lot of support for adding start & finish times and break times in the Xero Me App and this would be an extension of that.

    Hello community 😊

Thanks for sharing this idea. I’ve just updated the title to be AU specific as this feature has been delivered in the AU region! For our NZ voters I’ve split this to a new idea and transferred your votes.

We added a timesheet setting in Xero Me (AU) that lets employees record start and end times for work and unpaid breaks. With this, Team Manager / Approver roles have the ability to review and approve start, end and break time entered, as well as any notes added by an employee on timesheets within the Xero Me app 🎉

  18. HMRC's guidance on invoices in currencies other than GBP, found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/foreign-currency-transactions-vat-and-tour-operators lists specific requirements that need to be met when creating an invoice in a currency other than GBP, namely:
    1. "the total net value of goods and services at each VAT rate" needs to be shown in GBP (as well as in the foreign currency)"
    2. "the amount of VAT, if any, at each rate" needs to be shown in GBP (as well as in the foreign currency)"
    3. the currency conversion for VAT purposes needs to be calculated in one of the following two ways:
    - "UK…

Hi all, apologies we've not responded here before now. Checking in with our team on this our current invoice templates do accommodate what's needed here.

With the standard invoice template you can select to 'Show currency conversion as' 'Net amounts with tax totals', which display a currency conversion table with the net amounts and tax grouped by tax rates or tax components. A base currency equivalent is also included. You can see more information on displaying currency conversion on Xero Central.

We also provide a highly customisable DOCX invoice template that can be used to provide more detail if you choose.

  19. For manual reconciling, the bank statement file can be generated using a CSV template and requires inputting details like the Date, Description, and Reference. However, users, especially those with high monthly transactions, may want to change/edit the descriptions after the file has been uploaded and reconciled.
Currently, to do so, the bank statement needs to be deleted and re-uploaded, which means unreconciling previously reconciled items and repeating the entire process. If there are many to be amended, this process may need to be repeated multiple times. It would be beneficial if we could directly edit the contents of the bank…

Hi team, with the new Bank Reconciliation report you can now enter a Bank statement ending balance.

This means, if you don't have an imported statement balance or this doesn't match your actual bank statement balance you can enter the balance yourself, update the report and Xero will show the Calculated balance out by amount.

  20. Have a ribbon/menu across the top of the screen with the ability to pin a “button” that links to your most frequently used windows - eg bills to pay drafts window , or the reconcile window of the most used bank feed, or a report you run daily
