Xero Me App (AU) | Approver - View breakdown of hours (start/end) before approving
It would be useful if a Xero Me App - Approver had the ability to view a break down of the hours an employee works across the week (not just the total hours worked) before approving the timesheet. I see there is a lot of support for adding start & finish times and break times in the Xero Me App and this would be an extension of that.
29 votesHello community 😊
Thanks for sharing this idea. I’ve just updated the title to be AU specific as this feature has been delivered in the AU region! For our NZ voters I’ve split this to a new idea and transferred your votes.
We added a timesheet setting in Xero Me (AU) that lets employees record start and end times for work and unpaid breaks. With this, Team Manager / Approver roles have the ability to review and approve start, end and break time entered, as well as any notes added by an employee on timesheets within the Xero Me app 🎉

User Roles: Invoice Only users are able to view paid invoices under contacts tab
Currently it is not possible for a user with the Invoice Only access to view paid invoices under the contacts tab. It doesn't make a lot of sense that they can view all of the invoices however when in contacts can only view invoices that are unpaid.
10 votesSorry for not updating you sooner here, team. We've just released an update for Invoice Only roles in Contacts. What you can see will now be dependent on the level of access the user has.
- Invoice Only Draft will no longer see the I Owe and They Owe columns,
- Invoice Only (Sales) will only see They Owe, and
- Invoice Only (Purchases) will only see You Owe.
This change applies to sorting on the page as well.
Thanks everyone.

User role- Limit invoice only draft only users to their own invoices
User role- Limit invoice access to seeing and working on only user's own invoices. So as to enable different user to work on their own invoices without having access to other user invoices. Only manager should have access to all members of his team .
6 votesHi team, coming back across this idea I wanted to confirm that this is how the Invoice Only - Drafts role currently works - Someone with this role will be able to create and submit bills and invoices they enter to be approved by someone else with the right permissions in the org.
They will only have access to view invoices and bills that they have entered themselves, and will not be able to view bills or invoices raised by others in the organisation.
Danny, it sounds like you're referring to the Invoice Only - Purchase role which will enable a user to raise and approve bills they have entered. The user is not able to access Sales, but they'll be able to view any bills or purchase orders that have been raised by any user in the organisation. We have a somewhat similar idea for a tick box option…

User Permission - Books Closing Date Restriction
The ability to set a closing books date so that no entries in a prior period closed date can be changed without an administrative password or an approval process chain of more than one approver.
3 votesHi community, this is possible via the use of Lock Dates in the organisations Financial Settings.
You have two optional date settings:
- One date that applies to all users except Advisers
- A date that applies to All users, including Advisers
These prevent the relevant users from adding or making changes before these dates.

Year end change
Year-End Change:
If I want to change the year end on Xero say from September to June so that I have a 9 month year from Sept-Jun and then the new 12 month year starts Jul-Jun, is there functionality for this on Xero?
For example: I did change the year end where I know to do it on the settings, but it doesn't create the 9 month reporting period like Pastel always did, it immediately makes the year Jul-Jun without that 9 month interim time and now it throws my year-end journals a bit messed up...
2 votesMay be good for your to raise a case with our specialists for more individual direction on conversion dates, Danielle.
From the sounds you'd like to be able to enter data for date prior to 'starting on Xero'. This is generally facilitated via the comparatives and entering Manual Journals for dates prior to the orgs conversion date - We have some help on picking a conversion date and troubleshooting conversion balance on Xero Central

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) - Enforce for all users
Need the option to be able to force all users to use 2FA.
Security is only as strong as its weakest link.
2 votesHi everyone. Multi-factor authentication has now been rolled out across the globe and this is now a requirement for all Xero users.
We have a hub of resources available to help everyone get set up and accustomed to the change - Please feel free to share these with your clients and employees. (Sept 21) -
Cyber Essentials
As an organisation we want to sign up to cyber essentials. It will reduce our insurance liabilities as well as provide us with greater digital security. Currently Xero does not mandate the use of MFA authentication. I would like it to. Primarily for active users but ultimately for staff accessing payslips only as well.
1 voteHi Gavin, multi factor authentication is now mandated globally for Xero customers. We have a bit of information on this that you can read on our blog post, as well as additional information about using MFA on our website.

User roles - Add invoices, but not view the main dashboard
Staff to be able to create invoices and not see dashboard!
1 voteHi Andrea, it sounds like you'd be able to use the Invoice only user role. With this role, the information shown on the dashboard is limited by the level of additional permissions you provide them with.

User roles - Hide supplier balances from users with 'Invoice Only User Sales (Quoting & Invoicing)' permissions
With in the Invoice Only User - Sales (Quoting & Invoicing) the user can still view all of your suppliers and the amounts you owe them via the contacts tab. If you want to give someone access to raise and sent sales invoices then they shouldn't be able to see all of your suppliers and especially shouldn't be able to see what you owe each of them!
1 voteHi team, we've made the change and this is now live. Now, what's visible for a user with an Invoice Only role will be dependent on their level of access. Invoice Only Draft will no longer see the I Owe and They Owe columns, Invoice Only (Sales) will only see They Owe, and Invoice Only (Purchases) will only see You Owe. This change applies to sorting on the page as well.
