We appreciate everyone that’s contributed here. Needs in more incremental permissions for bank accounts, have been clearly highlighted in your feedback – from protecting the confidentiality of payroll information to securely delegating reconciliation tasks for specific accounts.

Leaning in from our last update, our product teams have conducted lots of research of existing user roles, to highlight the most critical areas work is needed to power up our customers use of Xero.

Reporting and inventory are our first areas of priority, and you may have seen recent updates across ideas for these areas.

Permissions to bank accounts is another area that stood out in our research, but has more dependencies and will take longer to develop.

We’ll keep you updated as our journey with roles and permissions evolve and there’s more in the space of banking to share with you all.

With many varying ideas for roles and permissions in different areas of our products, user roles impact all areas of the product. There are many factors we must consider when addressing how to solve for majority of our customers needs.

We’re in the process of conducting research on the current landscape and how we might approach some of the most predominant needs in roles for our customers. This being one of our highest voted ideas surrounding roles is a specific focus for the team. too.

Discovery of this work is its first stages and will be long running. There will be multiple phases of research and forms of engagement with users that’ll help shape the path ahead in this space.

We value our customers input and would like to invite you, our community to be part of this research and discovery. This may involve interviews and sharing further feedback through direct surveys or questionnaires.

Hi community, thanks for your interest in this idea. Like you’ll see through other ideas on the site – We know there are many segmented permissions that our Xero customers would like us to provide.

Currently Bank accounts access is provided on a blanket basis across all bank accounts, but we appreciate why you’d like to provide access by individual bank account.

To be upfront most of our teams resource at present is focused on our ‘ Building on beautiful ( https://central.xero.com/s/article/Building-on-beautiful ) ’ work, and at this stage there’s no work planned to allow more specific permissions to bank accounts in Xero. It’ll take some time to work through but once the bulk of this work is complete, we’ll be able to bring more attention to roles and will update of any progress around permissions to banks, here.
