  1. Currently for businesses there is a restriction to report 10 categories for landlords. I have landlords with more than 10 properties and who want to report by property but the MTD submission won't allow more than 10.
    Please can this be increased for landlords with a large property portfolio

  2. Project Timer - Please remember the task!
    It would be great if the timer remembered the project and task I chose after starting the timer. I always choose the project and task, but when I come back to the app hours later to stop the timer, the timer is still running but it has forgotten the project and task I chose. So frustrating!
    I used to use Toggl timer which always remembered what it was timing. Can this be changed? Cheers!

  3. Can we have the ability to move task line to a different space...eg if i want to reorder the way job stages come in to the project. Sometimes if they get added in later than how they come across from our other program we want the ability to move that task line up to the top.

    So with Pastel you could insert the minimum quantities into the system and when you book out products when you invoice a client the system would have a automatic pop up informing you that your product qty is below the minimum order qty you have set. Please can you bring in this function. It is very time consuming for us to have to export sheets of data and to review all the products from Xero exported sheet to my excel sheets.

  5. We use location codes to sperate our transactions by site or (cost centre). I tried to create a bank rule to allow the transaction to be dynamically allocated to an individual location, depending on the location appearing in the transaction description.

    I have been told that this does not currently exist.

    Hi Peter, thanks for sharing this idea about having the option for setting tracking categories in bank feed rules. This idea is now in Gaining Support status, which means it's open for the community to show their support through votes and comments.   7. Invoices created by the Projects API show in Xero accounting as "System Generated" therefore the user that created the invoice in projects cannot see the invoice or quote if they have Invoice Only + Draft.

    Xero is missing just a key user level - where account managers can see and manage sales invoices, but can't delete or edit. Projects seems a good way around this limitation, but the inability to see invoices kills that.

  8. Time adjustments or credits within a Project | Time entries in Projects works well and it makes sense that a time entry is locked once it is invoiced. However we regularly need to make adjustments for situations like (a) incorrect entries, e.g. billing time on a public holiday not worked, that we want to credit back against the invoice or (b) moving time between tasks within a project. I understand that Practice Manager has a "Time Credit" feature that may be suitableto this need if it could be made available in Projects. If not we need something like a manual…

  9. When adding estimated tasks onto a project , add a quanitity section when selecting the fixed price items.
    Some tasks for example like quoting for installation of boards per m2, we have the price per m2 set up as a code, so it would be useful to then be able to easily adjust the quanity required to get a revised sell / cost.
    You currently have to calculate what the sell price would be and manually override the fixed charge. This however removes the visbility of how much quantity you want (unless you then edit the text) it also makes…

  11. Day Rate

    It would be great if we can use a day rate when creating an invoice for a project. At the moment, the rate is hourly and when an invoice is created it shows that total hours in quantity and the rate per hour; which is a bit confusing for clients who agreed on a day rate. Therefore, having the day rate and quantity as the number of days would be helpful.

  12. Would love to have the contact list sync with Google tasks.

    None of the CRM softwares out there have a calendar that works as well as Google Tasks.

    My only problem is that I have to type in the address and contact info for every single job, and there is room for input error here.

    I would love to be able to start making a task in Google Tasks, and be able to type in the customer name and have the info populate automatically.

  13. Add chart of account to a project task.

    We have a lot of small task entries which need to appear on the invoice to a customer. The tasks (remote support / h) have a unique account (208 - remote support). When we make the invoice we have to adjust ever line item to the right account. Can this not be automated by assigning the account to the task type?

  14. I would like a solution to be able to import a list of projects. ie project number, client name, project description. It is very time consuming to setup projects individually one by one. Would be much easier if I could create an excel listing, convert to csv and import to xero

    Thanks for raising a request for a bulk project import tool in Xero Projects Kesini. Feedback like this helps our product team understand where bulk tools would save the most time, so thank you for taking the time to share it.   15. On the project tab where expenses are tracked, I have multiple items that have been delivered to a site. Currently, I have to enter every single item as invoiced. My sites have multiple units, each unit can have 20 items and every single one has to be marked as invoiced in order to gain accurate reporting. Surely, there can be a single button to mark all items as invoiced; in exactly the same way as an invoice can be attributed to a project. Please!

  16. Assigning sub-contractor paid bills to tasks in Projects

    Hi , there is currently an option to assign incoming bills to specified projects, which works well for our subcontractors.
    There is also an option(drop tab) once each bill is in the project to assign the bill to specific tasks; but this option does not work (unable to click to tasks).
    Please make this option work, as currently adding bills to our projects places the project over budget, and confuses the invoicing process.
    Being able to apply each paid subcontractor bill to specific tasks will be a game changer for us.

  17. It would be so helpful if when it comes to invoicing, like estimated expenses, you could group Tasks. So that there is just one line item on the invoice.

    Staff have multiple labour charge out rates depending on what type of job they are doing, so record their time to multiple tasks. But we only want to show one total Labour cost on the invoice.

    The current workaround is to bring through up to 15 lines from the Tasks, manually calculate the total, and remove the additional lines - which then loses the tracking on what has been invoiced.

  18. In Xero Projects, when a deposit has been invoiced (eg via the deposit option in the Projects invoicing workflow), the "available credit" shows in the Projects UI.
    However, when raising subsequent progress invoices (eg for tasks/expenses), the "Apply credit deposit" checkbox is all-or-nothing - it applies the full available credit or none. There's no option to manually enter or select a partial amount from the deposit/credit balance to apply to the current invoice.

  19. It would be helpful if you could add a description or comment field to tracking categories. This would allow us to add keep category names concise and then add more information to in the description field so that we can describe things like how it is used, start and end dates for event tracking etc.
