Xero Projects - have the ability to add a Customer Sales Order to the Project, and this defaults on the Invoice Reference field when we invoice the project at the end of each month.

Just brought on a new client on Xero that runs large number of projects. At the moment, Xero does not provide a facility whereby we can bring forward opening blalances for ongoing projects.

Xero Projects - Allow Users to print their own timesheet
Limited Projects Users should be able to print a timesheet. Those who are subcontractors require their own records, and this saves duplication. Clients often require timesheets to be signed, and the person who entered the time is usually the best person to arrange this, however they cannot do so unless they can print their own timesheet.

Xero Projects - Show Supplier Name for un allocated expenses
Currently Unallocated Expenses in Xero projects just show the item line description Which can make assigning to an estimated expense difficult especially when you have "Delivery Charges" I propose a change so that once an expense is allocated to a project and falls into the unassigned it shows the name of the supplier

Tracking - Ability to bulk Archive categories
We use tracking categories of building jobs. It would be great to archive the tracking category once the job it complete. Allowing a P&L by tracking category report to only show active jobs.

Project Reporting - Sort by invoice/bill date, rather than assigned date
Currently when you filter all project reports by a date range it pulls the report based on when you assigned the invoice/expense to a project. Please update the report to pull by the invoice/bill date similarly to all other reports in Xero. This is crucial so you can compare your project reports to all other financial statements to confirm accuracy.

Projects - Add "Invoiced" to Categories.
The 3 Project categories at present are Draft/In Progress/Closed. I would like another category called "Invoiced" so I could see which projects have been invoiced and are waiting for payment before we close them.

We are a booking agent and collect revenue less costs from venues , I currently use sales invoice to record sales(settlement) and enter costs as a negative amount that are an expense in my project, Project treats the deductions as a reduction in income not an expense, can this be fixed?
2 votesHi Tara, it sounds like you're using invoices as a single source to record all this information? However, I'd recommend looking into Xero Projects where you'll be able to enter bills for your venue expenses and invoices for the income you'll receive from the project.

Projects - Increase maximum amount of digits allowed for Estimated Expense fields
Restricted to entering 9 digits before the decimal place in estimated expense unit price/total fields.

Projects - Ability to assign to estimated expense category from the bills screen
When assigning a bill line to a project, it would be good to also be able to select the Estimated Expense category from this same screen rather than having to manually add from within the Project. Or at least be able to bulk assign from the Projects screen.

Projects - Option to default bills & expenses to non-chargeable
Within Xero Projects, we would like the functionality to be able to amend the project setting so that we can set the default to non-chargeable for bills and expenses rather then the current automatic % markup.
The current approach means that the project reporting shows bills outstanding when they aren't particularly relevant when you have contractors delivering the work for an agreed price. at the moment we have to go into each category and amend each line item

How to make Xero projects report in Zoho Analytics
I have Integrated the Zoho Analytics with Xero through the Import Service in Zoho Analytics. But I am unable to fetch the Xero project module data, rest other modules data I received in Zoho Analytics.
Please let me know how i can get the projects module data also. Tracking - "Add another option" at top of page
When you have a large number of Tracking category options and you wish to add another, you have to scroll heavily to get to the bottom of the list each time you wish to add another.
This is not time efficient. The option to add another tracking category option should be at the top of the page for simplicity and time management of the XERO user3 votes -
Projects | Task Description to be used on Tasks & Expenses Invoice
In Projects - the tasks we add 'time entries' to and then invoice are set up in "Products and Services" screen. We would like the description entered in the "Products and Services" screen to flow through to the invoice when a "Tasks and expenses" invoice is raised. Currently only the Task Name goes into the Description box on the invoice but this is not adequate to send to the client. Typing over the top of the description is a waste of time and we do not want the time entry description to flow through as this is often too brief…

Xero Projects - Add separate field for Project Number
Is there a way that within Xero Projects, we could have a field for "Project Number" and a seperate field for "Project Name".
Unfortunately we have found that some duplication of project numbers can happen within Xero as the project name and project number are within the same field.95 votes -
Tracking - Functionality for Rental Property Management
Have two codes - one for rental income & one for rental expenses.
When reconciling bank transactions to these codes, have the ability to allocate them to a property.
Have a feature where you can view the outstanding transactions for each property and select the transactions to go on the statement to the client for that month.
Auto generate the management fee for the month based on pre-selected criteria for that property - either % or fixed amount.
Auto generate a bill from this statement for the money that needs to be paid to the landlord.5 votesThanks for sharing and your interest in the idea here. Being open this isn't a feature we have any plans of implementing in the near term.
However, some of what's been described here can be achieved using Tracking. For example, you could create accounts in your Chart of Accounts for Rental Income and Rental Expenses. You'd then use a Tracking category for your Properties, listing each property as a separate option within that category.
Alternatively, if you're after more specific tools for managing properties we'd recommend looking into apps that can integrate with Xero and offer more services that could suit your business.

Projects - Ability to set a default tracking category
Number of fields for projects is really poor, I need a tracking category added to projects so for example we can have four different types of projects which I want to categorise in the initial project set up. When costs and revenue are then allocated to this project it's also automatically allocated to the tracking category associated. At the moment I'm having to manually allocate to every transaction. Would be made easier if like sage they had a copy above function but we don't even have that either, so clicky!

Xero Projects - Select the date when closing the Project
Our financials include a report on the profitability of projects closed during the month. Because the system writes the date of closure from the actual live date that the user marks the project as closed, the user needs to make sure that each project is marked as closed immediately on the date of completion. E.g. If a project is completed in the last week of the month the user must ensure that the closure field is ticked during that week and not wait until the following week.
Can you allow the user to enter or amend the closure date ?
