  2. The new MANUAL JOURNAL feature does not show the tracking categories after being posted. You need to click edit first before seeing the tracking categories. Can this be improved? I have attached the screenshot of the actual posted journal although the tracking categories are complete before posting. Thanks

  3. Allow typing/searching for tracking categories instead of just scrolling the dropdown list
    Please add the ability to type into the tracking category fields to auto-suggest or filter options, rather than forcing users to scroll through a long dropdown menu.

    Currently, if a business has numerous tracking categories or options, users have to manually scroll through a massive list every time they enter a line item on an invoice or bill. This is incredibly time-consuming and slows down data entry significantly.

  4. In Projects the Tasks and Expenses are listed individually with a total for all of these costs. It would be very useful to be able to generate a report with total costs for each supplier for a project where multiple suppliers have many individual invoices. This would appear to be a simple bit of programming to do this.

  6. When a quote has been accepted, instead of then having to go to Projects to make a new project would be more efficient to then have so you can turn the project into a project from the quote.

  7. We would like the possibility to assign a validity period to each new "Tracking Category" entry.

    This would mean that you don't have to see all options every time the Tracking Category drop down list is selected e.g. when entering an invoice.

    It would also help to limit the Tracking Category options available to employees, for example, when they enter their expenses.

    Hi Amanda, Tracking was originally designed to be used as a way to track and monitor parts of the business that did not have a lifespan like departments. Appreciate there are many different ways our customers have grown to use tracking, and we'll start to track the interest in this through your idea. But do want to be open that we don't have any plans for this at present.

  8. We have a large project with countless numbers of invoices assigned to the project. I would like an option to be able to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced" so that we can see what has already been invoiced to the client and so that we can work out more accurate profitability figures. At present, each individual invoice needs to be marked off separately and this can take hours to mark them all off, particularly if the project is large.
    Xero currently provides an option to "Mark all times as invoiced", so having the option of "Mark all expenses as…

  10. I use Projects as timesheets for my staff in my contracting business, and it has worked well for the past two years. I do not use Xero process staff wages, I use ACE Payroll.

    After a staff member leaves, I delete them from Projects, as it costs me $7.50 per month per person, and when you have between 20-25 staff, it can get quite expensive.

    Once I delete a staff member from Xero, I cannot change any of their time entries. The reason I need to do this is usually because they have allocated his/her time against the wrong project.

    Appreciate the detail in your idea here, Lynette. While we don't have immediate work planned for this , it'll be good to get a sense of the interest from others in the community and if there's any change planned we'll let you know through the idea here.

  11. Job Car Creation with Check list for empployees

    Having the Ability to do all things in one app without intergration would be ideal and more cost effective and productive.

    Simple

    1.Creating Jobs
    2.Add Customer
    3.Add Vehcile/Vessel
    Port & Starboard - Model Numbers, Serial Numbers
    Generaor Model Number, Serial Numbers
    4.Add Fault Description
    5. Engine Hours
    6.Trailer Brand
    7. Trailer Details - VIN, Model Number, GTM, ATM, Overall Length, Overall Width, Materail

    Everything needs to revolve around job Numbers

  12. On projects under "quotes & invoices" it would be great if it showed the remaining balance of the invoice. I send 4-5 invoices per project and sometimes clients pay a random lump sum and i write it off against the invoices but that can lead to an invoice being part paid and being able to see which invoices have been paid or have a remaining balance under that view would be beneficial instead of having to get out of projects and searching the invoice under the invoice tab.

  14. It would be great to have the ability to assign New staff to all existing Projects without having to open each Project individually. Perhaps a multi select drop down. Currently I am having to open 40 projects and add the new staff member in one at a time.

  15. Ability to change the default work week for entering and viewing time entries in Projects.

    Purpose: Allows us to easily view employees time in the work week that we use for an outside Payroll.

  17. When creating an invoice from a project-keep items in the same order as they appear in the project. It is very confusing when all the items are in different places than they were in the project and I have to reorder everything.

  18. Just brought on a new client on Xero that runs large number of projects. At the moment, Xero does not provide a facility whereby we can bring forward opening blalances for ongoing projects.

  19. Limited Projects Users should be able to print a timesheet. Those who are subcontractors require their own records, and this saves duplication. Clients often require timesheets to be signed, and the person who entered the time is usually the best person to arrange this, however they cannot do so unless they can print their own timesheet.

  20. It is possible to see a list of bills not assigned to a project.

    However, I would like to be able to see a list of all transactions not assigned to a project including spend money and receive money.
