We would like Xero to allow an option for certain staff members to be restricted from viewing all tax returns by default - except for specific returns on an individual basis (i.e. the returns they are working on). Firms are now using offshore providers to assist with some tax preparation and it would be best if offshore users were provided with access to only those clients/returns they are working on, rather than the entire tax database. Is this something that might be achievable in the short term?

  2. Can job custom fields please be added to recurring jobs? We have set up fields for required information, but becomes pointless if they can't be added to recurring jobs as well. Will also save staff a bunch of time if they can add the info when setting up the recurring job, rather than looking for the information at a later time.

  7. When doing a CTR for a client that has an ARBN. There is no ARBN field to enter this detail for our client.
    Can you please create a ARBN field and for this to pull from the clients details onto the CTR - as per the attached screenshot of the CTR

  8. We want to be able to report on any clients with outstanding balances at any point in time, and be able to action it before the ATO start calling us or the client to chase the debt.
    There is already a report on the ATO Portal – See attached screen shot. The report contains any AS’s that are overdue and also shows any clients debt/credit they may have on the ICA.
    We also want to be able to safely ignore any and all statements of account that the ATO spam us with because often, they issue a statement of account…

  9. To make unaudited financial statements for Community Benefit Society Companies. Although Ltd, it has a unique company registration number, the accounts are submitted via the mutual register. The reporting format is slightly different. It includes, Management Committee Report, Independent Accountant Report and Notes to Financial Statements.

  10. Currently there is only the ability to enter 4 Directors names into the Report fields in 'Advanced accounting › Report fields and schedules'
    So when we run the advisor reports, on the Director Declaration's page we have to manually type in the extra directors.
    Can you increase the fields for more than 4 directors and even more than 4 partners.

    Thanks for engaging and sharing the idea here - Having a deeper read to interpret, there's the ability to add more client report fields that can be included in your report templates yourself (such as Director 5, Director 6 etc) - See detail in our help here.

    A couple of pointers to note, are;

    • ensure you have the Edit report templates permission, then
    • add the new client report fields at Xero HQ level first; this'll make them available to add in your Report templates. Then, add the names of the directors at the client level.

    We hope this helps you overcome the idea here, let us know if this doesn't quite accomplish what you're asking.

  11. Enable a Bank account to be created when the Chart of Accounts we have created in HQ is imported. Currently, this is not possible. All Bank accounts in the COA need to be changed to Current Assets, and then in the newly created Xero Blue organisation file, the "Bank" accounts have to be deleted and created again! Very annoying. The overall process is great, but this is annoying. We have many bank accounts in our various standard chart of accounts. I want to include the bank accounts so that my staff know the account numbers to use when they set…

  12. XeroTax currently cannot produce accounts where the company has a IP registered number. It would appear that the only change needed to do these accounts is to recognise the different registered number format.

  13. Ability to put in manual tax estimate adjustments, such as prior liabilities on tax accounts so clients can see total owed. It can show estimate for return, then show the adjustments.
    Also ability to adjust for amended returns to show the actual amount refunded or owing after amendment calculations.

    Thanks for your engagement with this idea, team. Your feedback on how this feature would improve your efficiency and workflow has been invaluable. We're excited to share that we're actively working on a new Xero Workpapers with the ability to roll over workpaper packs including notes and documents, providing the breakdown of accounts sought after here. Release has begun to Australian partners and we'll be sure to provide more information here as this rolls out further.

  15. The ability to be able to search for client code, email address, TFN and mobile number in the global search.
    you are able to search for a phone number but the search doesn't include the contact phone numbers

    Hi Renea, I notice you added your idea here to Practice Manager, can I just confirm - Are you looking to search Client contacts within Practice Manager, or Contacts within an individual organisation? Thanks 

  16. There is the option of adding Groups as a taxable group, however if the option is not selected client members of that group still pull through as related parties when adding a new return. The ability to use multiple Groups would be a great driver for "advisory" automations in 3rd party software if it didn't have that adverse outcome. Enhancement request - adding a tax return the related clients should only pull through members of the taxable group and exclude members of the "advisory" group.

  17. This is to do with Custom Reports and should be little effort for a good result.

    I note that after discussions with Xero the [Tax Return AU] Not Started Returns field is only available in the Client Returns report. It would be great to have [Tax Return AU] Not Started Returns in the Tax Return report area so you could generate a report on which returns have been started, in addition to the current status of the ones that have been started (ie Draft, Complete, Lodged) at the moment we can only see if a tax return has been created…

  19. We noticed last provisional tax letters that we sent out to clients had the date the amounts were approved.

    We usually approve before and e-mail/post letters closer to time.

    Is there a way the date can be changed on the Provisional tax letter to the day its getting e-mailed to client?

  20. When you have multiple companies using Xero and utilise the function to approve bills in Xero for audit tracking purposes you need a way to view the number of bills "Awaiting approval" in all of the companies in one place.

    It is very time consuming to open each company individually in order to confirm that there are bills that need approval.
