  1. I’m reaching out to request assistance regarding a feature enhancement for Xero Practice Manager (XPM). Currently, XPM allows invoices to be pushed seamlessly to Xero Accounting (blue), which is incredibly helpful. However, I’ve noticed that proposals and estimates created in XPM cannot be pushed to Xero Accounting in the same way.

    I would like to request that XPM be enhanced to support the ability to push proposals and estimates directly to Xero Accounting.     Appreciate you attaching a screenshot to demonstrate your flow here, Badi. Just wanted to check as this is a public forum there's nothing sensitive in this that you wouldn't want others to see?

    Can understand why you'd like to enhance the sync of information and save time in adding these manually in Xero blue.

    Not something we have immediate plans of but we'll start collecting community interest for this through your idea and update if there are any plans made.

  2. Option for 'Other allowable expenses' in the tax comp to allow the depreciation on assets purchased as a finance lease as capital allowances are not reclaimable but depreciation can be deducted.

  3. Ability to produce payment schedule that works with 31st July payment on account as DUE not already paid. When producing the return prior to 31st July.
    The attached file was produced prior to 31st July. The POA has been amended to show the correct figure due 31st July.

  4. When you go into a client and enter the jobs tab, there is no job for that client even though they are part of the group that there is a job for and that client is included within that job. The job only shows for the single client where the job is created.

    The jobs tab already includes sections for active jobs and archived jobs. It should also show a section for jobs assigned to other clients within its group.

  5. In many accounting software platforms, the established workflow for onboarding a new individual client and preparing their Income Tax Return leverages ATO pre-fill data efficiently.

    This process typically involves:

    • Adding the new client to the ATO portal.
    • Downloading the pre-fill XML file directly from the ATO portal.
    • Saving the downloaded XML file to a local directory.

    Hi Geena, thanks for this great suggestion for Xero Practice Manager.

    We can definitely see how having both the Client Manager and Job Manager visible on the main recurring jobs screen would make it much easier to see who is responsible for what at a glance. Adding an export option for that screen is also a great point.

    Hi Francisca, thanks so much for submitting this idea — we really appreciate your feedback!

    We understand how much smoother data entry would be with a more user-friendly date picker when entering historical dates in the Relationships tab in Xero HQ. Being able to quickly scroll or jump through years would save you time and make the process much easier.

    Right now, the date picker requires multiple clicks to go back several years, which can slow things down. Your suggestion for an improved, intuitive date selector would make a big difference to your workflow.

    This idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage. If this feature would help you, please consider voting and sharing your thoughts . Your support really helps us prioritise it with the product team.

  9. Extend the information in Xero HQ to include full client data.
    Information that would be good to see on each client information schedule would be;

    a. VAT registration date, this is required for security with HRMC so needs to be in one place when contacting them.
    b. VAT quarters (We do have clients that don’t use xero and this information is important)
    c. PAYE registration details (Not all clients use Xero payroll and equally flicking between various clients bookkeeping systems when on the phone to HMRC is a bit irritating!)
    d. UTR details for companies

  10. Create the ability to update time entries for draft bills.
    We often have a manager draft the bill and between the bill being created and it being approved by a director, there is additional time added to the job. If there was an option to refresh the bill to include all time before approval, rather than having to delete the bill and start again, that would be amazing!

    Hey Sarah, thanks for raising this Idea with us, we appreciate the time you've taken. As you know with the XPM invoices once they are created you are not able to edit or update them to included tasks/time that have been added after. This is to reduce any duplicate billing and other errors that may occur and for auditing purposes. We have reviewed the Idea and have moved this to not in Pipeline as there aren't any plans to make any changes in this process in the current roadmap.

  11. The User access for Workpapers is very poor. I find that I need to give the Staff high access levels in order to allow them to create and complete workpapers. Rather than just having a very basic Standard and Admin level, the names and levels of access should reflect more the sort of work that staff will be involved in. For example, you don't need to be highly qualified to set up a set of working papers for a new year that you can then work on, so staff members should be held up by needing line managers to initial…

    Hi Rebecca, thank you for this valuable feedback on user access in Workpapers.

    We can certainly see your point. The current 'Standard' and 'Admin' levels can be too broad, often requiring you to give staff higher access than necessary just to perform routine tasks like setting up a new workpaper file.

    Your suggestion to introduce more refined user roles that better reflect the actual work your staff are involved in is a great solution to improve both workflow and security.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to enhance it further by showing a total for the client list or a filtered group. We can see how this would provide valuable context, allowing you to easily benchmark how an individual client compares to the rest of the community.

    1. The functionality to format text with bold, italics, and underlining.

    2. The ability to apply multiple highlight colours to text, as well as different font types and colours.

  14. Given Xero's push for 'beautiful accounting' I find it very frustrating that the template report codes can't be re-ordered within their groups in the template reports and always revert to alphabetical at the client level, meaning every single client needs their custom reports formatting unnecessarily. Editing reports at every single client level for what I consider to be pretty basic formatting is really disappointing.

    Hey Gareth, we appreciate you sharing this idea and highlighting the extra time spent manually reordering report codes in clients’ organisations. It’s clear that a better solution would help your practice run more smoothly.

    Right now, the only option is to reorder the codes manually within each client’s report. We know this isn’t the best solution and adds extra steps to your workflow.

    This idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage, so it’s open for votes and comments from the community. The feedback will help us understand how many people this would benefit and how important it is to your practice. We’ll keep you posted here as soon as there’s any news.

  15. We use Fusesign as our e-sign solution and it would be great to have the option to send a document directly into the signing software. We've seen a much higher engagement level with Fusesign than any other e-sign product as it doesn't require another login, it uses SMS/email verification instead.

    A direct link would smooth out the workflow from the tax product > signing (and maybe even into client files in FYIDocs).

    Hi Matthew, it appears that FuseSign is already an integrated app Partner with Xero. As they've designed and built their integration with Xero themselves they'd it'd be best to approach their support to see if this is something they'd consider extending their integration for.

    You can find their support contact details at the bottom of their app store listing.

  16. The productivity dashboard does not have the functionality to automatically account for staff start dates. It calculates capacity for the whole year which does not work for staff commencing mid year. There's no functionality to set a historic capacity level. The workaround is to manually adjust the reporting date for the productivity dashboard to account for each staff's start date or use the Time Productivity Report as an alternative. I'd love to see this feature improvement / functionality in the future.

  17. It would be very handy to be able to create a formula in a custom report that could reference a group/custom row that sits within a closed group as sometimes you need these rows in order to drive the formula but they dont add any helpful information to the final report.

  18. We 'import from xero' the data to preopolute the tax return. However, the P&L and Balance Sheet items appear in the tax return as a worksheet when printed. It would be great if this was excluded, but retained the other worksheets.

  19. It would be good to see the tax rate deducted for RWT/DWT/ICA for interest and dividends when printed on the tax statements worksheet/schedules. Then you can see that the information has been entered correctly (ie 33% for tax on dividends)
    Also be better to have use of money interest adding into the terminal tax date in the tax payment summary showing total payable, rather than a sentence above it!
