XPM - Allow Practice Staff to Edit Contacts, Groups, and Relationships without Full Edit Access
Have a separation of Client Edit privileges to allow practice staff to edit Contacts, Groups, and Relationships without having full edit access (e.g. will not be able to edit client address, email address, Agent, etc)
Hi team, we appreciate all the feedback and support this idea has received and understand the desire for wanting to be able to enable staff access to add notes without full edit access to a client.
This isn't in the roadmap at this time, but is a feature our product teams will continue to consider as we keep developing client management. I'll be sure to share if there are any updates surrounding this, here. Thanks

With our firm, we have had to lock down these permissions as staff were not updating the correct client details. We only give permissions for changes for specific people in the office.
This also allows admin to update all other areas and softwares that need to be changed that do not get updated if permissions are allowed for all staff.

The staff permissions available in client settings are currently too limiting compared with the more detailed options available in job settings. In Jobs, permissions can be tailored more precisely, such as allowing staff to add and edit job notes without granting wider access. In Clients, however, the only available options are No Access, View, and View and Edit.
This creates a problem where there is no way to allow a staff member to add or edit client notes while restricting them from changing key client details such as the IRD number, address, or phone number. At present, the only way to let a staff member manage client notes is to give them full edit access to the entire client record.
A more granular permission structure for client settings would be very helpful, particularly the ability to separate note access from client detail editing.

Currently if you restrict staff from being able to edit client records, this will also prevent them from being able to edit relationships for the client which is needed to change percentages to complete tax returns. Accountants do not need to be able to edit client's address, email etc but they still need to be able to edit relationships to be able to complete tax returns. Having another level of permissions would be good to allow them to only be able to change this.

Totally agree, coming from a firm that transitioned from Handi 18 months ago, it is less than ideal for all staff to be able to view all these personal details for staff and their families/entities such as:
- Home address
- Dates of birth
- How many and which entities the staff member has -

copy the functionality of access Handisoft to be able to hide details of partners and their own entities from staff in XPM. They can see TFN for example. In Handisoft they can'r even see an address much less who in in the partners private group.

Great idea, would love to see more granularity in staff access. Would like this to extend to restriction of editing client bank account details as well if staff have edit access.

This would be a great feature without allowing the staff to have full edit access to the client's details.

In order to do tax returns you need to edit relationships so this enhancement would benefit us greatly as well to allow efficient preparation of tax returns.
