  1. We would like to see more custom report options that reflect the returns so we can interrogate and pull information out of Xero tax in relation to clients

    In particular, get a list of every client that has a number in the Tax Return Labels – Interest Expense or Interest Expense overseas or Royalty Expenses Overseas - See attach screenshots

  2. jobs -- can u make all row more compact - can u make columns more compact or allow user to narrow or widen column size - can u also allow job number column select Yes/No at column selection option - can u allow job report to export to excel/pdf - there are many external application having much better jobs management features - can u take some info from there ???

  3. Every year we have to manually create tax returns for each client - would be great if the client is listed as an existing client on both XPM and ATO that XPM can bulk create the tax returns for that relevant year run. This would cut down a lot of admin time.

  4. It would be great if there was some automatic notification to the client/job manager that a draft invoice has been raised and is awaiting approval.

    Probably just one email per day so they are not being spammed!

  5. It would be great to see the budgets easily when we open the Jobs tab in XPM. This will help us have a quick glance at the budget for each job rather than opening each job in a new browser tab or generate a report.

    Hi Emily, thanks for sharing this fantastic suggestion for improving the invoicing workflow in XPM. We can see how having more direct visibility of costs would make billing decisions much easier.

    We've reviewed your idea to add a calculated 'Cost' column on the screen when reviewing task postings to be invoiced. We understand this would help you better judge what to invoice and how much for at a glance.

  7. When running reports, posting timesheets etc, it would be good for the client search function to search the entire name, rather than requiring exact input. Similarly, the ability to type a date in any format (e.g. DD/MM/YY), rather than being exact or using the calendar icon.

    Hi Emily, thanks for sharing this feedback on how we can make everyday tasks in XPM more user-friendly. We know that improvements to common fields like search and date entry can make a big difference to overall efficiency.

    We've reviewed your suggestions for making the client search function more flexible so it searches the entire name, and for allowing dates to be typed in various formats. We can see how these changes would streamline tasks like running reports and posting timesheets.

  8. Would it be possible to close sections of the job that you don't use and these stay as default. (Information Tax - job details, custom fields etc.) This would make it easier to see the sections you do use. It would also be useful if you would put them in the order you prefer.

    For example to me the most important section is tasks and these are quite low down the list. I would like this to be a default setting.

  9. Rename "other name" field to "middle name/s", need another field for casual name (say for example people that go by their middle name) and also put first name or casual name on contact details screen that is shown on front screen, currently showing other name for some reason...

  10. It will be great if Xero has its own separated spreadsheet to keep the record or, ideally, import into the CTR's franking account.

    Currently we have to use third party software to keep track of the franking account, and I have seen some of the tools can import from ATO Portal too via csv / pdf.

  11. It would be great to be able to set a cost to automatically repeat within XPM. For example a subscription cost to be applied against an annual job on a monthly basis.

  12. We use multiple tax agent numbers across our business yet when we lodge STP reports via the client's organisation, we can only use one tax agent number for all clients as Xero only allows for one tax agent number to be set in Xero HQ.

    This is causing many issues, including staff and clients inadvertently updating tax agent details in the STP lodgment area on their own file, which is then updating the tax agent in HQ for all STP lodgements.

  15. With the movement towards Digital ID (MyID, Auspost Digital ID, Connect ID).

    It would be convenient if we could onboard clients using these systems. Would ensure that details were correct and identify the clients at the same time.

  16. When preparing an invoice, it would be great if you could replace the radio buttons with check boxes within tasks and also be able to bulk update the Billable status on timesheet entries within a task to Yes, No or Future.
    If you have a task with a lot of timesheet entries, and you only want to bill a few of them, it's very time consuming to have to select one by one to change the Billable status to Future.

  17. I feel like a dedicated feedback board would be useful. As I don't feel there is currently an appropriate place to give feedback and notify support of things that are not working properly.
    For example, I have the new GST returns to trial and there was an actual feedback box in Xero. Where i gave the feedback that i liked the new features but not the look. Now the feedback box is gone and I have just noticed that it tells you that there are unreconciled lines to code. But, they are for the next GST period. Plus the old…

    Hi Christopher, we appreciate you sharing this idea. We understand the value of being able to set a custom password for Outcome of Assessment (OoA) documents in Xero Tax. Having more control over how these documents are secured can help you align with your firm’s processes and better meet client needs.

    At the moment, Xero Tax automatically applies the client’s date of birth as the password for OoA documents in dd-Mmm-yyyy format. While this works in many cases, we acknowledge the interest in having more flexibility — whether that’s for consistency across documents, improved client experience, or added security.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. The community votes and comments help us understand how important this is to the wider Xero community and guide future product discussions. We’ll continue to monitor the feedback here and share any updates as they become available.

  19. individual tax return shouldn't validate if tax claim code A used in Medicare section but a spouse is reported , or should at least be a warning ...?

  20. At the moment, we can only add one IR833 per client when doing tax returns. It would be great to have the ability to add more IR833 forms, as otherwise, if the client sells more than one property, we need to file the forms directly through the IRD, which can be time-consuming.
