  2. Report Codes ability to edit from Chart of Accounts, not separate area. I see that you have marked previous suggestions as completed, because you've added a button. It isn't a button we are seeking, it is the ability to edit directly within COA, rather than having to go elsewhere. The elsewhere is still a useful tool to help identify when clients have added their own codes, but from a click minimisation perspective why not have COA and Report Codes integrated, and provide us with a field to add our nominated report code.

Hi Justine, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how integrating report code editing directly into the Chart of Accounts could streamline your workflow. After reviewing this with our product team, we're updating the status to 'Not in pipeline', which means it isn't on the foreseeable roadmap. The idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to gauge community interest. We value your feedback and encourage you to keep sharing your thoughts with us.

  3. Report codes for notes disclosure - I use chart of accounts for notes disclosures, rather than relying on remembing to manually edit numbers within notes. It would be helpful if there could be a category we could choose under Equity which was for Notes Disclosure or Non-Reporting. The entries always contra, so it would be helpful to not have to edit the report layout for each additional new code.

Thanks Justine, for your suggestion and for explaining how you’re using report templates and codes for notes disclosures.

We’ve reviewed this idea with the product team and it’s not something we’re planning to develop right now, so we’ve marked it as Not in pipeline. While this won’t move ahead, we’re continuing work in related areas like Trusted Notes and code‑driven reporting, and we’ll keep monitoring interest in this space for future planning.

  4. add more reports into report template, for example payroll report and tracking summary. Thank you.

Hi team we appreciate the feedback and interest in adding the Tracking Summary report to Report Templates here. Being upfront this isn't something we have plans for.

However, we've made a recent update to enable you to adding a custom Tracking Summary report to Adviser packs which may meet some of the needs here.

I see there's also been mentions in this thread of users that'd like to add payroll report to report templates and I wanted to highlight this idea that I'd recommend adding your vote for if of interest. Thanks!

  5. Reports eg Transaction reports, should be able to be summarised by tracking category. Currently if a bank transaction is spread across a number of tracking categories, the transaction report will report this as 'multiple categories'. This is very unhelpful.

Appreciate what you're asking here, Simon. However when grouped or summarised by tracking and a bank transaction has multiple lines that are coded to different categories its not possible to show these all on the report.

On the flip side of this, if you run the report on a Grouped by basis you'll be able to see the transactions related to the multiple categories and can drill into the transaction to view the detail.

Alternatively, adding a Related account column to the report you'll be able to see the account the transaction is coded to. Then, running the report for the related accounts e.g Sales would give you the line by line breakdown so you can view each tracking option the transaction has been allocated to.

  6. It would be very useful to be able to amend CIS returns on Xero before final submission (as it is possible with VAT returns).

Thank you for raising this idea about the ability to amend CIS returns before submitting them. As per HMRC requirements, the CIS deduction is an event that is legally tied to the cash transaction of a payment being made. Because of this, the final return is based on these completed cash transactions, and any changes must be made through HMRC's official amendment process. Therefore, the ability to edit the return before submission is outside of Xero's control as we must adhere to the strict requirements set by HMRC for the CIS scheme. While we understand this isn't the answer you were hoping for, we want to be transparent about why this is not something we can build. We will continue to explore any potential solutions that may align with HMRC's future requirements, but for now, we must follow their strict compliance rules ✨

  7. I know this is not critical for the reporting accuracy of Xero within, but it would be a great help to those who extract many times a report from Xero and have multiple clients handling. I hope Xero Support can find ways to be consistent in their naming convention by default. And not overriding names thru Report layouts. Thanks!

Appreciate sharing your thoughts on date conventions used across reports in Xero, Danmark. While there's standardisation across the way dates are shown across Xero, there can be slight differences based on region, as well as the period being reflected.

For example all regions excepting US will show date format as Date Month Year, where-as US will be formatted as Month Day, Year.

When Xero reports for a general period like an entire month or year this is abbreviated to the shortest date format that represents that period e.g June 2025 or 2025 respectively, however when running a report for a singular 'as at' date the entire date is shown such as 13 June 2025.

While I appreciate it doesn't mean a change to the formatting that you're requesting here, hopefully this sheds light on where date formatting may differ and gives more assurance that there's a structured approach to how…

  8. Is there a way to create a sql report for trial balance or some other form of report that can be downloaded by excel power query? Eg a website link that could be accessed privately by sending and excel query? It gets very tedious repeatedly downloading trial balances again and again.

  9. The New GST layout needs to keep the "Late Claims" separate on the transaction details report. Lumping them all together with income or expense and then the totals don't tie into the numbers on the face of the GST return is frustrating. I can see you can filter by "late claims" but we don't want to have to export and manipulate the data when sending the documents to clients.

It doesn't make sense that the detailed transaction report doesn't match the face of the GST return without manipulating

Thank you for your feedback on the changes for NZ GST returns here, everyone. Late Claims display in the body of the return, to review them. If you click on this the Transaction tab will open and to toggle Late claims on and off, select the 'More' option.

Late claims have been separated into their own section in the Transactions tab, and if needed you can also use the Filter to choose to only view Late Claims. We'll soon be updating the export to PDF to allow late claims to be excluded.

We want to be open that we don't have plans for separating these back into their own tab and will close this idea. We still very much appreciate your feedback and will continue to iterate on this overtime to make filling and filing GST for an organisation simpler and more efficient.

  10. Hi
I would like to request that we keep the publish button on the new GST layout. The new GST Return layout does not have the Publish to Reports function (this has been removed). The Publish Function is an important function for clients, bookkeepers and auditors to access all relevant publish reports in one place.

Hi team, thanks for continuing to share and support in this idea.

While our team has continued to consider this idea since our last update, being upfront with you all here we want to share that this isn't in our current roadmap and unlikely to be developed in the near term.

For this reason, we'll move this to Not in pipeline however should anything change this we'll certainly share an update with you all here.

  11. We have to regularly edit invoices from specifics suppliers to correct pennies in the VAT boxes to ensure these match. Using up valuable and unnecessary time.

We use another software with another company that gets this spot on every time, but considering we pay for Xero we felt it would be helpful to get the VAT extraction down to 100% accuracy.

  12. It isn't possible to add a quantity column to a report, nor is it possible to pull through Qty data entered in Xero or create a cell the Qty can be manually typed into.

You can add a note column but this would be to link to a section of the report pack, not a quantity loaded into Xero or a box we could manually type the quantity into. Further the notes section functionality is unable to be renamed and can only be linked to other reports in the report pack. It does not work to bring through Qty data.

Hi everyone, thanks for your engagement and support for adding a quantity column to reports in Xero. We understand there are differing reasons around wanting to add quantity to a report, like being able to track fuel for tax credits, livestock numbers, or hours worked for carbon reporting.

There's a specific idea for Livestock reporting that we'd recommend anyone interested in this joins.

    To highlight, quantity can be added within the following reports within Xero right now;

  13. In Australia, users need to be able to manually edit the amount of GST paid on a transaction. This is required because certain transactions (particularly grocery and pharmacy transactions) have a mixture of items, some of which have GST applied, and some that do not. Unfortunately, the receipts for these types of transactions do not indicate which specific items have incurred GST - they just have a total amount of GST paid on that receipt. As such, it would be great if users could just override the total amount of GST paid for those receipts. See attached for an example…

Hiya team, we appreciate the interest this idea has built up, and do want you to know this has been a topic of discussion for our teams.

While manual tax adjustments is available in some regions, considering local best practice we have no plans of expanding manual tax adjustments on transactions to AU based organisations.

We appreciate there can be circumstances where a transaction differs by a few cents due to rounding and would recommend using manual journals to post and make corrections where required.

We get this isn't the outcome you'd most like to receive, but want to be upfront with you all on this here. Thanks

  14. When reviewing the GST Audit Report we are able to sort by account number, but when printing in PDF it reverts back to date sort order. Can we have an option to print to PDF in account code order.

Hi everyone, as you may have seen in recent communications - We've rolled out a new and improved New Zealand GST experience.

While we've made many changes, we want to be open that transactions will only print in date order. This isn't something we have plans for changing in the near future and we'll move the idea to not planned. If our position of this changes at any point we'll be sure to update you of this here.

  15. We need to be able to create a report that lists inventory item sales and includes the customer name AND other customer contact information such as email address or phone number.

There have been occasions where I've needed to contact a large group of customers that have purchased a product from me due to a misprint in a book or an update to a title. At present, the only way I can do this is to export my inventory report and add the contacts manually. Xero Support Specialist - Daniel has confirmed this.

Hi team, rounding back to the idea here we want to be open that this isn't a report that we have any plans for developing at this time.

That said, there is a feature in Xero today that may help you achieve what you're in need of - Smart Lists

With smart lists you can set criteria for items that customers have or haven't purchased from you within a period of time. You can either have this compare across all items or run smart lists for specific items. Search results can then be exported from Xero if you'd like to do more with them. Thanks

  16. Can payroll deductions such as IRD arrears or MOJ deductions etc be included in the Payments Report. This is vital information that is not able to be reported on at this stage and I wonder how many deductions have slipped through the cracks because clients aren't aware that a deduction has been made. In the situation where a third party is managing Xero payrolls for clients these payments need to be communicated manually via email. As you can imagine this places a large burden on the third party to ensure that this is captured each payrun.

Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.

Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

  17. Xero Analytics Plus cashflow to show a year not just 90 days.
The current cashflow upgrade from Xero only shows up to 90 day which is weird as in reality you need to forecast for the year. Is this going to be extended to a year like all the other cashflow apps ?

Hi team, thanks so much for your engagement and for sharing your needs on this idea over time.

While we don’t plan to build this into the Short-term Cashflow feature, we did want to highlight that similar functionality is available through Cash Flow Manager in the new Xero Analytics.

With Cash Flow Manager, you can extend your forecast out to 180 days.

We understand the original request was for a full 12-month forecast and the ability to set a custom date range. We've focused on a short-term forecasting tool in Xero that projects up to 180 days, and whilst we do not have plans to have extended projections longer term that now, there are other solutions - such as Syft that offer advanced forecasting tools as well for long-term projections.

  18. For large farms/orchards or multiple businesses in the group, needing a P & L each for each Farm and Orchard. Then a combined statement P & L bringing all the totals together with the group overhead expenses. Currently have to do separate custom reports in Xero then paste in, would be good to have it all formated in one spot not doing multiple reports and copying and pasting. Currently using another accounting software provider to do the financials and only using Xero to collect the date, would be good to have it all in one spot

Hi Tracey, appreciate it's been sometime since you initially raised your idea here. Not getting any community support this will soon be removed from the forums. However, taking a read through it may be worth looking into Tracking to see if this feature could be useful to track expenses for each orchard/farm. The P&L could then be set up to provide columns of the expenses and revenue for each orchard comparably. Thanks

Hi everyone, we’ve been tracking this conversation and appreciate the insights you’ve shared around budgeting. We get how being able to sort budgets by General Ledger account number could streamline your workflow and help reflect the structure of your reports.

Currently, as you may know you can export budgets to a spreadsheet, and sort them outside Xero. But, we understand you'd prefer a solution directly in Xero.

We want to be transparent; this isn't currently in our roadmap. As we continue to monitor this space, we’ll update you here if anything changes.

Hi community, we appreciate your insights on this idea. We recognise that having depreciation excluded from the Cash basis P&L can limit how useful the report is for understanding overall business performance.

The distinction you’ve highlighted between a cash basis Profit and Loss report and a Statement of Cash Flows is a helpful one and gives us a better sense of why this feature matters for your reporting and compliance needs.

For now, creating manual journals is the only available option to include depreciation in cash basis reports. While not ideal, it’s a feasible approach if you need to reflect these adjustments.

We want to be upfront here that this isn't something we have roadmapped right now, and not likely to be planned soon.

This may be something we revisit in the future and will make sure to share any updates if the situation changes.
