Fixed Assets - Ability to print reports from Fixed Assets screen
Be able to print reports from the Fixed Asset screen.
3 votesHi Leasa, if there is a Fixed Assets report that you'd commonly use you may find it useful to Favourite this report so it's readily available from the Reporting menu in the blue banner.
Do want to be open here that we don't have any near term plans for adding report options from within Fixed Assets. Thanks

Report Templates - Ability to edit report codes from Chart of Accounts, not separate area.
Report Codes ability to edit from Chart of Accounts, not separate area. I see that you have marked previous suggestions as completed, because you've added a button. It isn't a button we are seeking, it is the ability to edit directly within COA, rather than having to go elsewhere. The elsewhere is still a useful tool to help identify when clients have added their own codes, but from a click minimisation perspective why not have COA and Report Codes integrated, and provide us with a field to add our nominated report code.
2 votesHi Justine, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how integrating report code editing directly into the Chart of Accounts could streamline your workflow. After reviewing this with our product team, we're updating the status to 'Not in pipeline', which means it isn't on the foreseeable roadmap. The idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to gauge community interest. We value your feedback and encourage you to keep sharing your thoughts with us.

Report Templates - Codes for notes disclosure
Report codes for notes disclosure - I use chart of accounts for notes disclosures, rather than relying on remembing to manually edit numbers within notes. It would be helpful if there could be a category we could choose under Equity which was for Notes Disclosure or Non-Reporting. The entries always contra, so it would be helpful to not have to edit the report layout for each additional new code.
1 voteThanks Justine, for your suggestion and for explaining how you’re using report templates and codes for notes disclosures.
We’ve reviewed this idea with the product team and it’s not something we’re planning to develop right now, so we’ve marked it as Not in pipeline. While this won’t move ahead, we’re continuing work in related areas like Trusted Notes and code‑driven reporting, and we’ll keep monitoring interest in this space for future planning.

Report Templates - Add Tracking summary report
add more reports into report template, for example payroll report and tracking summary. Thank you.
103 votesHi team we appreciate the feedback and interest in adding the Tracking Summary report to Report Templates here. Being upfront this isn't something we have plans for.
However, we've made a recent update to enable you to adding a custom Tracking Summary report to Adviser packs which may meet some of the needs here.
I see there's also been mentions in this thread of users that'd like to add payroll report to report templates and I wanted to highlight this idea that I'd recommend adding your vote for if of interest. Thanks!

Account Transactions Report - Show all categories when grouped by tracking
Reports eg Transaction reports, should be able to be summarised by tracking category. Currently if a bank transaction is spread across a number of tracking categories, the transaction report will report this as 'multiple categories'. This is very unhelpful.
2 votesAppreciate what you're asking here, Simon. However when grouped or summarised by tracking and a bank transaction has multiple lines that are coded to different categories its not possible to show these all on the report.
On the flip side of this, if you run the report on a Grouped by basis you'll be able to see the transactions related to the multiple categories and can drill into the transaction to view the detail.
Alternatively, adding a Related account column to the report you'll be able to see the account the transaction is coded to. Then, running the report for the related accounts e.g Sales would give you the line by line breakdown so you can view each tracking option the transaction has been allocated to.

CIS - Amend CIS returns before submitting
It would be very useful to be able to amend CIS returns on Xero before final submission (as it is possible with VAT returns).
1 voteThank you for raising this idea about the ability to amend CIS returns before submitting them. As per HMRC requirements, the CIS deduction is an event that is legally tied to the cash transaction of a payment being made. Because of this, the final return is based on these completed cash transactions, and any changes must be made through HMRC's official amendment process. Therefore, the ability to edit the return before submission is outside of Xero's control as we must adhere to the strict requirements set by HMRC for the CIS scheme. While we understand this isn't the answer you were hoping for, we want to be transparent about why this is not something we can build. We will continue to explore any potential solutions that may align with HMRC's future requirements, but for now, we must follow their strict compliance rules ✨

Reporting - Consistency in the default naming convention for dates
I know this is not critical for the reporting accuracy of Xero within, but it would be a great help to those who extract many times a report from Xero and have multiple clients handling. I hope Xero Support can find ways to be consistent in their naming convention by default. And not overriding names thru Report layouts. Thanks!
6 votesAppreciate sharing your thoughts on date conventions used across reports in Xero, Danmark. While there's standardisation across the way dates are shown across Xero, there can be slight differences based on region, as well as the period being reflected.
For example all regions excepting US will show date format as Date Month Year, where-as US will be formatted as Month Day, Year.
When Xero reports for a general period like an entire month or year this is abbreviated to the shortest date format that represents that period e.g June 2025 or 2025 respectively, however when running a report for a singular 'as at' date the entire date is shown such as 13 June 2025.
While I appreciate it doesn't mean a change to the formatting that you're requesting here, hopefully this sheds light on where date formatting may differ and gives more assurance that there's a structured approach to how…

power query trial balance
Is there a way to create a sql report for trial balance or some other form of report that can be downloaded by excel power query? Eg a website link that could be accessed privately by sending and excel query? It gets very tedious repeatedly downloading trial balances again and again.
4 votesHi team, I would recommend engaging our Developer community with you idea here where we have experts in the space of exporting and syncing data outside of Xero.

NZ GST - Keep separate Late Claims tab
The New GST layout needs to keep the "Late Claims" separate on the transaction details report. Lumping them all together with income or expense and then the totals don't tie into the numbers on the face of the GST return is frustrating. I can see you can filter by "late claims" but we don't want to have to export and manipulate the data when sending the documents to clients.
It doesn't make sense that the detailed transaction report doesn't match the face of the GST return without manipulating
90 votesThank you for your feedback on the changes for NZ GST returns here, everyone. Late Claims display in the body of the return, to review them. If you click on this the Transaction tab will open and to toggle Late claims on and off, select the 'More' option.
Late claims have been separated into their own section in the Transactions tab, and if needed you can also use the Filter to choose to only view Late Claims. We'll soon be updating the export to PDF to allow late claims to be excluded.
We want to be open that we don't have plans for separating these back into their own tab and will close this idea. We still very much appreciate your feedback and will continue to iterate on this overtime to make filling and filing GST for an organisation simpler and more efficient.

NZ GST - Add Publish Function to new style GST report
Hi
I would like to request that we keep the publish button on the new GST layout. The new GST Return layout does not have the Publish to Reports function (this has been removed). The Publish Function is an important function for clients, bookkeepers and auditors to access all relevant publish reports in one place.188 votesHi team, thanks for continuing to share and support in this idea.
While our team has continued to consider this idea since our last update, being upfront with you all here we want to share that this isn't in our current roadmap and unlikely to be developed in the near term.
For this reason, we'll move this to Not in pipeline however should anything change this we'll certainly share an update with you all here.

Reports - Add quantity column to reports
It isn't possible to add a quantity column to a report, nor is it possible to pull through Qty data entered in Xero or create a cell the Qty can be manually typed into.
You can add a note column but this would be to link to a section of the report pack, not a quantity loaded into Xero or a box we could manually type the quantity into. Further the notes section functionality is unable to be renamed and can only be linked to other reports in the report pack. It does not work to bring through Qty data.

255 votesHi everyone, thanks for your engagement and support for adding a quantity column to reports in Xero. We understand there are differing reasons around wanting to add quantity to a report, like being able to track fuel for tax credits, livestock numbers, or hours worked for carbon reporting.
There's a specific idea for Livestock reporting that we'd recommend anyone interested in this joins.
To highlight, quantity can be added within the following reports within Xero right now;
- Inventory Item Details - will allow you to view quantity on hand of tracked inventory items
- Inventory Item summary - lets you view quantities purchased and sold for all items, as well as opening closing and adjusted quantities for tracked items
- Sales by Item report - will show you quantities sold for inventory items
- Payable Invoice Details report - will give you quantities purchased for all line items
- Receivable Invoice Details report -…

Report's - GST Audit report, option to print PDF version by Account number
When reviewing the GST Audit Report we are able to sort by account number, but when printing in PDF it reverts back to date sort order. Can we have an option to print to PDF in account code order.
107 votesHi everyone, as you may have seen in recent communications - We've rolled out a new and improved New Zealand GST experience.
While we've made many changes, we want to be open that transactions will only print in date order. This isn't something we have plans for changing in the near future and we'll move the idea to not planned. If our position of this changes at any point we'll be sure to update you of this here.

NZ Payroll - Show deductions on Payments Report
Can payroll deductions such as IRD arrears or MOJ deductions etc be included in the Payments Report. This is vital information that is not able to be reported on at this stage and I wonder how many deductions have slipped through the cracks because clients aren't aware that a deduction has been made. In the situation where a third party is managing Xero payrolls for clients these payments need to be communicated manually via email. As you can imagine this places a large burden on the third party to ensure that this is captured each payrun.
11 votesHi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.
Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

Xero Adviser Financials - Farming | have multiple P & L's for different farms/orchards in group
For large farms/orchards or multiple businesses in the group, needing a P & L each for each Farm and Orchard. Then a combined statement P & L bringing all the totals together with the group overhead expenses. Currently have to do separate custom reports in Xero then paste in, would be good to have it all formated in one spot not doing multiple reports and copying and pasting. Currently using another accounting software provider to do the financials and only using Xero to collect the date, would be good to have it all in one spot
1 voteHi Tracey, appreciate it's been sometime since you initially raised your idea here. Not getting any community support this will soon be removed from the forums. However, taking a read through it may be worth looking into Tracking to see if this feature could be useful to track expenses for each orchard/farm. The P&L could then be set up to provide columns of the expenses and revenue for each orchard comparably. Thanks

Budgets - Order by GL account number
The ability to do budgets by GL account number. It's very perplexing this is not available today!
85 votesHi everyone, we’ve been tracking this conversation and appreciate the insights you’ve shared around budgeting. We get how being able to sort budgets by General Ledger account number could streamline your workflow and help reflect the structure of your reports.
Currently, as you may know you can export budgets to a spreadsheet, and sort them outside Xero. But, we understand you'd prefer a solution directly in Xero.
We want to be transparent; this isn't currently in our roadmap. As we continue to monitor this space, we’ll update you here if anything changes.

Fixed Assets - Option to Show Depreciation Expense in Cash Basis Reports
This is an ongoing issue for a lot of accountants, as seen in the forums: https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N00005Ok9naSAB/regarding-depreciation-not-appearing-on-cash-basis-reports
159 votesHi community, we appreciate your insights on this idea. We recognise that having depreciation excluded from the Cash basis P&L can limit how useful the report is for understanding overall business performance.
The distinction you’ve highlighted between a cash basis Profit and Loss report and a Statement of Cash Flows is a helpful one and gives us a better sense of why this feature matters for your reporting and compliance needs.
For now, creating manual journals is the only available option to include depreciation in cash basis reports. While not ideal, it’s a feasible approach if you need to reflect these adjustments.
We want to be upfront here that this isn't something we have roadmapped right now, and not likely to be planned soon.
This may be something we revisit in the future and will make sure to share any updates if the situation changes.

Supplier details report to include e-mail addresses, bank details, terms, e-mail addresses
Additional report: Supplier report to include e-mail addresses, supplier address, bank details, terms,
6 votesHi everyone, not seeing a lot of interest in this idea overtime and with no plans in the roadmap we will update this idea to Not in pipeline.
While we appreciate why users would like a report containing all these details, this isn't something we have plans to develop.
As previously suggested it's possible to export your list of suppliers from contacts that includes email and bank details.
In relation to spend within a period, you could run the Payable Invoice Details report which can be grouped by Contact and run for a period to view the items purchased and the accounts these were coded to.
It may also be worth noting that Email can be included as a column when running the Aged Payables Detail or Summary reports.

General Ledger (detailed) - Quantity column
Hi there, would be awesome to be able to have a column in the detailed general ledger which has the quantities from what you entered in the quantity column when you reconcile the transactions. This is especially important when figured is used with Xero. As it takes a lot of time to go into each transaction and see what the stock quantities are to get the group total.
57 votesHi everyone, we hear your feedback about how viewing quantity within the General Ledger report could help when reviewing transactions. While not specifically within the General Ledger there are a few different reports that can currently be run and may help with this review;
- Inventory Item Details – view quantity on hand of tracked inventory items
- Inventory Item Summary – see quantities purchased and sold for all items, including opening, closing, and adjusted quantities for tracked items
- Sales by Item report – shows quantities sold for inventory items
- Payable Invoice Details report – shows quantities purchased for all line items
- Receivable Invoice Details report – shows quantities sold for all line items
We’ve reviewed this idea but want to be upfront that there aren’t plans in the near term to add quantity as a column to the General Ledger Detailed report.
We’ll keep an eye on the interest this idea…

Account transactions report - Show description of transaction line
Account Transactions Report
It doesn't make sense that you can separately select the 'Contact' column and the 'Description' column, but that the 'Contact' details show in the 'Description' column.
It feels like the 'Description' column in the Account Transactions report is wrongly pointing to the 'Contact' data!
If the 'Description' detail is not available in the Account Transactions report, this column should be withdrawn from the options available for selection.
It would be great to get this issue fixed.
254 votesHi team, we want to acknowledge your feedback and the needs you’ve expressed for being able to view the transaction line description in the account transactions report.
While we appreciate not the news you’re hoping for here - we want to be honest with you all that there are no plans at this stage to change the behaviour of this report.
We appreciate there can be some confusion of what is shown as it does differ based on the account and the line’s origin. We have added detail within our Xero Central article, but I’ve also noted below for ease of reference.
- For accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and tax account, it shows the contact’s name.
- For all other accounts, it shows the contact’s name and the item line description.
- As manual journals don’t have contacts, it shows narration and description.
- For wage payments, Payroll Employee displays in…

Reporting - Ability to create own report code structure
what about the possibility of practices creating their own report code structure? with infinite report codes capable of being added? to accommodate flexible reporting structures?
It is truly difficult to automate reporting where a practice does not control the chart structure. this is because clients often create new chart codes because their particular expense doesnt neatly fit the chart options available...so a new expense/revenue/etc account is added and then the report pack grows in size (with similar account types that really should be grouped for reporting) to the point where it is unusable...unless the practice manually maps into a "group"…
204 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback here. It’s great to see so much engagement on this idea, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
We understand you’re looking for the ability to create your own report code structures within Xero that'd allow for more detailed and flexible reporting, helping to automate processes and provide clearer insights for your clients.
As noted by others in the idea, you can currently leverage the existing report code mapping functionality. While it doesn't allow for entirely new report codes, you can map multiple chart of account codes to the same report codes to group them for reporting.
To do this in bulk, you can also export your chart of accounts, apply the mapping in a CSV, and then re-import it.
We see the value in providing more customisation in reporting. Right now we have some more codes…
