VAT return - Improved navigation or contents pages
VAT Return - transactions by VAT Box
Hi our company VAT return is currently over 400 pages long. Reviewing it is not easy when you have the box 1 figure on page one. I then scroll to about page 65 to get to the box 4 numbers after scrolling past it 2 or 3 times.
It would be amazing if there was a navigation panel to one side that I could click and it would take me to the page of the vat return relevant to the box number I want to review.
Thanks for your feedback on navigating the VAT return report. We appreciate you explaining how important improved navigation is, especially when reviewing lengthy returns or working with clients

As an accountant I have to forward the reports to clients to request their confirmation that they are satisfied that the return can be submitted. The amount of data can appear overwhelming to the client. In addition to the original suggestion can I also suggest two additional improvements:
1 Include a page break in the Transactions by VAT report at each VAT box number change so it is clear where the section starts
2 (I appreciate this is more) include a report of the larger transactions so those items can be viewed in isolation as a final check. -

Would be great to have a 'drop down' arrow for box items to hide when finished checking one of the boxes under 'Transactions by VAT box' while checking the VAT return. Or add 'jump to... ' another box so we do not have to scroll up or down.
'Go to top' button would be great as well. -

Agree, we have hundreds of pages on some customers and the only way to search or to jump to another box is to export it to excel but that's not always practical

Yes, I agree - navigation of the VAT Return is currently timeconsuming and difficult (not up to Xero's standard of workability)

I agree. Also, on the "Transactions by Tax rate" tab it would be really helpful to be able to collapse and expand each tax rate. I almost never want to check the 20% rates but they completely dominate the report and it takes a lot of scrolling up and down to get to the less used rates that I want to check.
