MTD for ITSA - Facility to export a PDF of quarterly returns
It's currently not possible to export the Income Tax Self Assessment figures for the MTD for Income Tax quarterly submissions as a PDF to include them in a documents pack for client's approval via e-signature in Xero.
This would be helpful from April 2026, so accountants can gain client's approval prior to submission with HMRC.

I'm trying to reconcile my P&L to the draft report for MTD for ITSA. Unfortunately, MTD only allows export of headlines into PDF (which isn't helpful as PDF isn't useable and the level of detail is insufficient), while for the P&L exports can be comprehensive, detailed and into Excel.
Excel is and has been the main tool for reconciliations and checking so both sides (P&L/GL and MTD reports) need to be exportable to Excel. Its absolutely essential to allow users to audit submissions. Anything and everything should be download-able into Excel. Its a basic necessity and urgent as MTD for ITSA is imminent.
