Reporting - Include column headers on every page of multi-page report exports
As I inquired on how to modify a report to allow for printing the column headings on multiple pages, Xero Support told me that I should "export the report and add the headings on page breaks".
Come on, Xero. That response was like a QuickBooks response! Surely someone at Xero must realize that when a report spans multiple pages, the user frequently may need to refer back to page one to be sure they understand what the numbers they are viewing are related to. Multiple page reports SHOULD have the column headings repeat on every page the report prints on in order to be more user friendly and save the reader's time by avoiding the need to frequently flip back and forth to verify what the columns identify.
Please update your system to automatically allow for column headings to appear on each page of a multi-page report. Have some consideration for report viewers!
Thanks for raising this idea, Alan. We can understand how including column headings across every page of a printed or exported report could make longer reports much easier to read and review.
We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your reporting workflow, add your vote and share which reports you use most often where repeated headings would be most valuable.

With the new Tier 3 (NFP) reporting requirements, our Reviewer has requested that every page of the Performance Report include a header showing the entity name, financial year, and a statement that the figures have been rounded to the nearest dollar.
This becomes particularly important where the Notes span several pages. At present, there does not appear to be any way in Xero to include this information on each page. The only workaround is to export the report and manually add the required headings afterwards, which is inefficient, impractical and increases the risk of errors or inconsistencies being introduced into the final report. It would be very useful if Xero allowed users to create a customised report header, with the option to display that header on every page of the Performance Report.
I can also make it a little **stronger/more persuasive** if you want it to read more like a case for why Xero should prioritise the change.
