Fix BAS Amendment Rejections Caused by CMN.ATO.AS.EM058 Validation Error
Hi Xero,
Please resolve or better handle the CMN.ATO.AS.EM058 validation error when lodging BAS amendments through Xero Tax.
We are encountering situations where a BAS amendment is rejected with a PAYG-W related validation error despite:
-No PAYG-W labels being completed in the BAS
-No PAYG withholding amounts being reported
Xero Support has advised that this is caused by an ATO validation check incorrectly triggering for PAYG withholding obligations and that the current workaround is to either:
- Skip pre-lodgement and lodge directly to the ATO, or
- Lodge the BAS amendment through the ATO Portal instead of Xero Tax.
Please fix the error and allow users to bypass the affected validation and able to submit the amendment BAS directly through Xero without requiring a separate ATO portal lodgement.
