  1. I am advocating for a graph showing cumulative revenue for each month of the year compared with past years.

    It is actually a simple graph to produce.

    It is quite a useful graph as it provides an early warning of what needs to be done now so that whatever needs to be done can be done within the time frame. An easier way to say this is that it provides early information in order for us to act on time.

  2. It is crucial to be able to print or email statements to multiple or all contacts with received money transactions at once showing each received money transaction for the contact in a time period on individual/separate pages by contact. This is really needed functionality because any nonprofit entity needs to send giving/donation statements at year end. I have tried multiple reports and statements. I can create an Account Transactions report showing all the clients and the received money entries, but it doesn't allow me to separate contact on their own page.   3. More flexibility for cash flow forecasting - categorisation by account code, manual upload to edit upcoming items rather than one by one, customising summaries (like month end balances).

  4. Trial balance with a column for Tracking Category. Currently I need to download each TB individually if I want it by tracking category, which is very time consuming and inefficient.

  5. Ability to be able to override and enter manual figures in a partnership tax return. This is currently causing me a lot of issues as i now have to upload via other software.

  6. Entities often need to view business reports in calendar year, as opposed to Financial year.
    Increasingly, revenue, expense and profit performance and targets at management and operational level are considered by calendar year.

  7. The reports pick up transactions only up to the current date, regardless of the date range specified in the report.

    For example, I use the income statement (profit and loss) as a useful report for my fiscal year close out, where I'm trying to minimize the income from the business by purchasing products and services I need in the coming year or paying myself to convert to personal income. When running depreciation on fixed assets, the depreciation expense is posted for the end of the month, and as a result is not included on the income report.

  8. Provide reports (for both draft pay runs and posted pay runs) in a matrix format like other Xero reports, rather than listed under each employee. The current format makes it impossible to carry out checks or to create further reports for management.

    Given the latest update that improving payroll reports is not a priority for Xero, we are very close to leaving Xero and moving to another payroll provider for the next financial year, as all other softwares we have used during our careers have provided far more useful reporting than what Xero offers.

  9. When presenting the Profit & Loss in a different currency from the file currency the exchange rate is as the last date of the Profit & Loss Statement (P&L). While this is appropriate for the Balance Sheet it is not so for the P&L. I would like to be able to extract a P&L report knowing the figures are based on an average exchange rate for the period as opposed to a single date rate.

    In the way Xero works at present the exchange rate is based on the end date of a report or the set exchange rate that was used.

  10. We need to be able to select "All Dates" on a report. ex. I want to see a report for a certain account from the start of my business to the current date. now I need to select beginning date and then todays date and the update.

    Thanks for sharing this great idea for improving efficiency in reports.

    For anyone looking to achieve this now, you can view transactions across all time by selecting a custom date range in your reports. By setting the start date to your organisation's first transaction date and the end date to today, you can get a full historical view of your data.

    We see the value in your suggestion to add a preset 'All Time' or 'All Dates' option, which would make this process a faster, one-click action.

  11. Have the ability to include the Report Code on the General Ledger Summary or Trial Balance report. At present, can only report on what Report Code an account has by printing the Chart of Accounts.
    With the new workpapers working on the Report Code, would be good to be able to see which Report Code an item has when working with the General Ledger Summary or Trial Balance.

  12. For NZ tax calc we reconcile to the figure after Dividends and tax expense. I see that there has been an update done (I am assuming for Australia) which is not suitable for NZ. Can you have an option for the tax amount to be either pre or post?

  13. Please allow the option to show the Income and Expense by Client Report in CASH BASIS, so that we can see this report by the amounts PAID by the client this month, not just INVOICED to the client this month.

  15. Trial Balance new report: Be able to run a report by tracking category. At the moment there is only an option to filter but if you have many tracking units you end up running a multiple reports and need to combine them all. Really time consuming.

    My proposal attached - with such report you could do any analysis you want!
    Option to run it by month "compare with" option a dream!

  16. An invoice report that also incorporates the Billing and Delivery addresses. This is essential if you do consignments such as in freight forwarding and you want to report on a group of customers per the consignment or you want to create a delivery list. The work arround at the moment is to export all invoices and clean the spreadsheet out to exclude what you dont want

  17. It would be helpful if loan payments and bank account transfers were added automatically.

  18. Can a total be added under the amount on this report.
    If a total was available, I wouldn't need to export to excel simply to add a total before sharing the report.

    Ideally, the total would also apply to groups on the report, ie, total by employee and total for all employees.

    Thanks for letting us know you'd like the Transaction Listing Details Report to have a total per Employee and or Group when you filter the report by Group.

    As you've found, the report will only show itemised values. One work around would be to export the report to Excel or Google sheets and add a summary total manually. We'd also suggest taking a look at the Transaction Listing Summary Report.

  19. On the Profit and Loss report there is no ability to show percentages, if tracking categories are used as a filter. We want to see COGS as a percentage of trading income, and Net Profit as a percentage of trading income.

    Hi Karen, thanks for submitting this idea. Showing percentages in the Profit & Loss report when using Tracking Categories would make it easier to see how different projects, departments, or locations are performing at a glance.

    This feature would give you clearer insights and save time by reducing the need to export data and crunch numbers in spreadsheets.
