Bank Reconciliation - use the bank feed as a calculator
Use the bank feed as a calculator. Insert tick boxes and select the relevant tick box for money received and/or spent to calculate totals
For example, have a tick function (such as a tick within the Bills section) to add payments into / out of bank account.
The benefit could be to help users reconcile individual payments in the bank account against other ledgers used within the users business whether online or offline
See attached screenshot with example of tick boxes

Banking - Ability to enter and save a "Verified Statement Balance"
Ability to enter actual statement balance and statement date (i.e. from a PDF), compared to what the bank feed assumes it to be. This way we can verify that a user has actually checked the bank balance and the last date it was verified (and for what value). Xero is far to easy to post historic transactions without a clear reconciliation (due to always having items in "unreconciled" at any point in time.
There could be a link from the Bank reconciliation report, or as mentioned above, a box to enter last statement balance and date, for better oversight all…
1 voteHi Mark, appreciate your idea on this! Being able to mark a bank balance as verified would make month-end checks much easier and give you confidence that everything lines up. Right now, reconciling differences can eat up extra time.
At the moment, you can cross-check using the Bank Reconciliation Summary report, but a built-in verification option would streamline this.
This idea is now in Gaining Support so we can see how many of you would find this helpful and share that insight with the product team.

Bank Feeds - Request for bank feeds for ABN AMRO Bank
Please instate bank feeds for ABN AMRO bank (the Netherlands). I joined Xero for its highly automated systems. Now I still have to download and import bank statements manually.
It adds insult to injury for the fact I have to sign up to a premium plan to be able to account in a mere two currencies. For small traders like myself with low turn-overs and no need for the majority of features larger companies need, this feels deeply inappropriate and unfair. (another idea about this topic is already live elsewhere)
14 votesHey everyone, thanks for the support on this idea.
While our Open Banking connections in the EU currently cover only Denmark and Ireland, you can still keep your ABN AMRO transactions up to date in Xero by manually importing your statements.
We'll keep en eye on the support for this here, and let you know of any updates in this area. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Chart of Accounts - Increase "Bank Account Number" Limit
Chart of Accounts - Increase "Bank Account Number" Limit
Currently the account number is limited to 20 characters.
A International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is the standard for bank account numbers in Europe. I can be as much as 34 characters long.
Please extend the length of the Bank Account Number to 34 characters.

Bank Rules - previous/next rule navigation
Previous/next rule navigation buttons added to the Edit Rule page and a check box for loading the next rule on save.
This would speed up bulk editing like when first setting up or when there's been major changes.
Another useful feature would be to tie this to a bulk edit option. Select the rules, click bulk edit and then after saving the first rule, it progresses to the next selected rule and so on.
1 voteThanks for your idea, David. This has been reviewed and we'd like to get a sense of interest in this from others in the community here.

Banking & Transactions - Suggestion for displaying the running difference when detailing transactions
When 'Adding details' or editing a transaction, the running total amount needs to equal the original transaction amount (money receive or spent). Some businesses require entering multiple line item entries in order to balance a deposit or withdraw. XERO states the total amount entered at the bottom, but does not state the 'Mathematical Difference' between the original transaction amount & the running total. In order to determine this, a manual calculator is needed. XERO should state the running total as well as the running difference.

Report - Ability to generate report for latest COA created
Report which lists (chart of) accounts by their creation date. Handy to update an exported excel report based from a Xero report. It would show where updates in the existing excel report are required before updating latest figures
2 votesThanks for sharing this idea about generating a report for the creation date for your Chart of Accounts. We appreciate you explaining how this could help with maintaining your Excel reports.
We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.
In the meantime, the History and Notes report can be filtered to show just changes to the Chart of Accounts for a set period so could be a useful tool.

Bank Reconcile- Allow editing of one line item of a batch deposit
Currently there is the inability to edit one payment in a batch deposit that was created from the Reconcile screen without dismantling the entire batch (with Unreconcile, and then Remove and Redo). If the batch Deposit is created from the Invoice screen and one line item needs adjusting, we have and option to Edit Batch. This allows for removing one line item of the batch but preserves the remainder of the batch (less the removed line item). Please add the Edit Batch function to batch deposits created in the Reconcile screen too! It is a big pain point when you…

Bank Accounts | Account Transaction - show related account codes
It would make a quick check of allocations so much easier if the dashboard for bank accounts allowed you to customise the "account transaction screen" so you could toggle between options like you can under reports - account transactions. By enabling account codes to show in the "cash book side" would help us identify misallocations so much quicker and the data is there ...

Practice Manager - Use the Ask feature to send and receive the Uncoded Statement Lines report
Would love to be able to send the Uncoded Statement Lines report via the Xero ask feature. It would be great if we could attach documents to the Xero Ask questions so it's much easier for the client to download the document, add their responses and re-upload to Xero Ask.
This way it provides easier visibility to firm on which clients have yet to respond to an Uncoded Statement Lines or if a bookkeeper is on vacation it is easier to jump in where needed and we aren't relying on a 3rd part platform.

Bank Reconciliation - Sort statement lines by most recent date
I always want to reconcile my newest transactions first, as they are freshest in my head. It's actually become pretty maddening not having this feature.

Bank Reconciliation - Add a new account code while reconciling
I wish you could add a new GL account to the COA right from the "create" tab of the match transactions page instead of having to click through to "add details" to access that function
9 votesHi, thanks for submitting this idea. As you mentioned, the Create option doesn't currently have a way to add a new account into your Chart of Accounts.
We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you, and your feedback will soon be reviewed by our Community team, and in the meantime this can begin to build support with votes from other community members.

Bank rule - Ability to set custom order when applying a rule in cash coding
When selecting to apply bank rules manually they are automatically shown in alphabetical order. I can see that this will be helpful for many, but it would also be useful to be able to manually set the order.
We have so many, I've had to apply numbers in the rule names e.g '1 - name a' '1 - name b' '2 - name a' '2 - name b'
Instead I'd like to be able to categories / group / manually order them.
1 voteThanks for also touching base with our support team on your idea here, Joanna. And, always welcome to reply to our status update if there is detail we're missing here in Product ideas 🙂
I'll re-open your idea here understanding it's more related to the rule ordering when applying through cash coding.
Lets start to get a sense of the interest from community in this here, I'll share if there are any plans made for enabling this here.

Bank Reconciliation - Search by Tracking category in Find and Match
Add tracking categories to the find and match function on the bank reconciliation screen. this would make matching payments to invoices easier for my clients as they have payments taken via DD per branch

It's now live and ready for the community to review and support. Go ahead and share it with your colleagues so they can vote and comment on how this improvement would help them use Xero.

CIS - Apply CIS to spend money transaction
When preparing monthly CIS returns on xero you need to create a bill for the subcontractor and reconcile/mark the bill as paid. When you have clients that have on average 80 to 120 subcontractors the bill creation even with a bill template can be time consuming.
Something to consider is whether creating a bill could be removed from this process and the CIS return be prepared simply from a spend money to a CIS enable contact.
Also something else that can be time consuming when dealing with this volume of subcontractors is downloading the monthly CIS payment certificates as clients…31 votes -
Bank Feed - BlueVine
Until recently I have been manually importing my monthly BlueVine Statements into Xero. This is a far from ideal approach since from a reporting and receivables standpoint, the data will always be stale and out of date. This leads to events like automated past due reminders going out for receivables that have actually been received and marked as paid.
I just recently learned of the bank feed integration with Yodlee, but the quality of the data provided by this service is heavily flawed by sending over incorrect analysis codes with transactions that cannot be removed or edited. While it does…
1 voteAppreciate you sharing why the Yodlee feed doesn't currently fit your needs, Jeff.
We're always keen to hear the new feed connections our customers would most like to see. We don't have immediate plans for a direct bank feed with BlueVine, however we'll start to get a feel of the this through support in your idea here, and can keep you updated if any plans are made.

Bank Feeds - Bank feeds from Macquarie Bank
Ive moved form Quickbooks to Xero (I guess this is common).
Xero does not accept bank feeds from Macquarie Banks - Offset Accounts.
It's very frustrating to manually have to import bank statements every month and I would love if they could please collaborate so it can occurs. It makes it tedious for my business and I lose hours trying to do it every time.Cheers

PGG Wrightson Bank Feeds
The receiving of PGG Wrightson's bank feeds within 4 working days of end of month (as currently stated in support/help) seems to no longer be the standard time frame.
Can you please review with PGGW whether the time frame provided needs updating so we don't need to keep contacting support for confirmation as to whether there is an issue or just a slow month when feeds aren't through by that 4th working day.
No one wants a repeat of April 2025 when the feeds were not received until 19th May.Feel a bit stupid when clients rings asking about where…
2 votesReally good for us to get a sense of new bank feeds our customers would like to see us develop feeds for. Thanks for sharing your idea here.

Bank Reconciliation - Available balance including Overdraft
In the bank account settings, add an optional data field to enter in the Overdraft limit on a bank account. Then on the dashboard screen, show the net available balance of current bank balance + the undrawn Overdraft limit.
Purpose - to save the user from having to manually calculate how much is available to make supplier/payroll payments or login to internet banking prior to check.
Should also be a simple feature to add.
11 votesHi team, thanks for your contributions here. We appreciate how some business may find it useful to be able to see at a glance the available overdraft limit of a bank account they have connected to Xero.
This is something we'll continue to track the appetite in through the idea, however want to be upfront that we don't have any immediate plans of developing a field for.

Bank Reconciliation - Indicate if a transaction has an attachment when reconciling
We all know that legally we have to have a receipt for each transaction, it would make life (and my brain) so much easier if on the reconcile page when it shows up as green (for an existing matched bill pending) that it would be a different colour if that bill had an attachment on it so I wouldn't have to check before pressing the 'ok' button. A simple one but something that would save so much time and surely the programming to match for the green can be amended to identify an attachment on the bill.
