  2. I have noticed that automatic numbering of accounts is different that what is general used in Canada. There should be a very clear option when starting a new Xero account to select Canadian numbering and an option to change the numbering to Canadian. For Example, in Canada, Assets start with 1, Liabilities start with 2, Equity start with 3, Revenue start with 4, Cost of Sales start with 5, Expenses start with 6,etc... I have a client who went ahead and started using Xero and it set up the accounts wrong and some accounts you cannot change the numbering to…

  3. Our clients would like the option to show reconciled and uncoded options on the same uncoded items report. Moving from MYOB/Banklink they are used to reviewing all transactions and having the ability to add notes for us to then code and add in the accounting software. We have many clients who fill in this form for us to then enter into the software and at present then only way to show this is running a bank reconciliation report.

Appreciate familiarity to the way your clients may have worked with another system.

As noted in the initial idea while there's specifically a report for uncoded statement lines, the Bank Reconciliation report will provide a list of all statement lines (coded and uncoded) - Is there something missing within this report that you're looking for in this?

@Wayne, livestock trading is quite different to what's being asked for in this thread - you can join the idea for this across here

  4. Find and match on bank rec to still go green when there is an entry on the discuss tab.

Currently the right hand side of the bank rec will only turn green if there is a possible match and nothing in the discuss tab. If there is something in the discuss tab it will not turn green even if there is a match.

It would be great if the border of the box still turned green whilst displaying the comment to indicate that there is a possible match to allow the user to review and ok the transaction.

  5. On the find and match screen, can we have the ability to expand the size of the window showing the list of transactions, so we spend less time on scrolling. The find and match shows 50 invoices at a time, but you have to scroll to see them.

  6. Since the change to the updated Bank Rules page, it now defaults to 'Any Conditions Match'.

I have to change this to 'All Conditions Match' literally every. single. time. I create a bank rule, otherwise it defaults to matching almost all transactions.

This is a disaster waiting to happen.

Thanks for sharing back on the change, Alan. It's difficult to make changes to suit everyone's needs, and changing the default from 'All' to 'Any' was carefully considered as part of the recent updates to Bank Rules.

This was something users told us would be helpful as many more users create 'loose' rules to capture more statement lines.

Currently there aren't any plans to change this back. What would be more useful would be the ability to set your own default, but for now we'll begin to track the interest of this here.

Hi Brittany, not getting a lot of traction in community overtime, and not something we have planned we'll soon remove your idea for the forum here.

Right now, depending on your needs you may find that you could use one of Xero's reports to search and find the accounts and details of what you're after here such as the General Ledger Detail or Summary reports.

  8. Some xero reports can be run by last month, last quarter, last financial year etc. The above report can only be run by entering specific dates. Could this report have the same pre set date options added? This would be useful for client query lists for monthly/ quarterly BAS Returns, annual accounts/ tax returns etc

Hi Greg, while there's no way to set your own defaults for Bank Rules in Xero.

The existing default will differ depending on where you start the Create rule flow.

    • If you're in the process of reconciling your account (via the Reconcile screen or Cash coding) the default for '5. Add rule details > Run this rule on' is the bank account you were reconciling
    • On the other-hand if you Create rule from the Bank rules screen, this'll default to 'All bank accounts'

While this isn't something we have plans for at present. Appreciate how you'd like to set up a default regardless of where you start this and have adjust the title of your idea, here and we'll keep an eye on the support for this.

  10. Banks Rules - Add Billable Expense

This will save the company a lot of time having to manually set a billable expense when we need to on-charge a certain % of a recurring transaction

  11. Xero allows invoices to be created in a foreign currency (with the premium subscription plan) but when clients make these payments (which get converted to the base currency) they are not able to be reconciled in the Xero app as both the currency and amount are different so they don’t match.

On the web, there is an option that can be unchecked to show foreign currency items, which then allows the payment to be reconciled. In my case it is ‘show NZD items only’.

A similar item would ideally be added to the Xero app so those paid in a…

  12. Cash coding currently has a keyboard shortcut to copy the nominal above, which is great..... Please can we have a keyboard shortcut made for the "Payee" that works in the same way as I often alphabetically sort these so it would be a huge time saver.

  13. the discussion tab in bank reconciliation is a wonderful tool to communicate issues encountered in doing bank reconciliations. What would make it better would be if there is an option to notify specific users when a new entry or response has been entered in the tab. This would increase productivity for service providers and allow their clients to respond quicker to queries from their service provider

  14. As a retail company with many hundreds of transactions each day it is a massive task to properly account for VAT. All our products are VATable inside the UK but we receive many orders from outside the UK which are non-VATable, or from other EU countries where we must charge a different VAT rate for our IOSS return.

PayPal holds details of the VAT that was collected as part of the transaction, but as Xero imports all these hundreds of transactions from PayPal it currently does not import those VAT details. That means we have to look at our other…

Hi everyone, it's helpful to know that having bank feeds available for banks based in Switzerland is important to you.

You can view a full list of direct bank feeds available in your region here. As some of you have noted, if your bank does not currently have a feed available, the best option for now is to manually import your bank statements into Xero. This will help you keep your accounts up-to-date. You can find instructions on how to do this in our Xero Central article here: Import a bank statement.

Another way you can help is by letting your specific banks know that you’d like to see them integrate with Xero. We've found that banks are more likely to prioritise building a feed when they hear directly from their own customers. They can get in touch with our team to start the process here: Register your

  16. There are a lot of businesses in The Philippines that would benefit from bank feeds. Even if you cover BPI, BDO and Union Bank I’m sure they would fund the development costs.

This combined with BIR accreditation would see XERO as the leading accounting product in a country of over 110 million people.

Are there specific banks you're connected to and would like to see a feed developed for? It'd be good to get this detail that we can share with our product teams.

Also to help community members understand exactly what they're supporting, as well as share these back internally with our teams it's best to keep one idea per thread - I've updated the idea here for Bank Feeds for Philippines and we can make this even clearer if you confirm which banks.

For reporting and BIR compliance I see another user has started an idea across here you can also support.🙂

  17. Currently a new supplier is created in your contact list every time a transaction is made which results in too many contacts considering there could be very small items of spend at multiple stores on card etc. I only want to see key repeating suppliers in my contact list.

  19. Bank feeds from Bendigo Bank, and I presume all other OSKO payments.is being fed into the reference field. It concatenates the description, payee and reference field.
The problem is the field is now too short with new OSKO payment descriptions, so the reference field is often dropped off making some transactions difficult to match. A simple solution is to make this field longer.

Hi everyone, thank you for your votes and comments on this idea, and our apologies for the delay in providing an update.

For context, the issue is with how data is supplied to us from the bank. For direct feeds, the information you see in Xero, including the format of the reference field, is provided directly by the financial institution. We are not able to control how this information is formatted and sent to Xero.

For those of you experiencing this with Bendigo Bank, we recommend contacting the bank directly to request that they make changes to the way this OSKO payment data is provided on their feed.

In the meantime, we will leave this idea open to continue tracking support on this.

  20. This feature was included in the old user interface for Bank Rules, and with the new interface that was rolled out, this feature is no longer available. Instead, I'm forced to go to the COA screen to add a new COA code, then refresh my Bank Rules screen to then be able to choose that account. The time this adds, on top of the already manual process to add bank rules, really adds up. I'd love to see this ability again.
