Hi community, We're excited that enhancements to your bank reconciliation experience in Xero are in the process of being rolled out! Some may notice you can now effortlessly search and filter statement lines based on your preferred criteria, giving you ultimate control and efficiency. Plus you’ll be able to view more statement lines on your screen - up to 50 unreconciled statement lines on one page. 🚀
Worth noting here with the interest in getting a narrower view of statement lines that need reconciling on a given or between certain dates - you’ll find with the more option to the right of Search you’ll be able to set a date range and filter down your view 😁

If you don't quite  have the new features yet, I can assure you they are coming soon, as we ramp up the release of this to everyone over the next few weeks. I'll…

Hi everyone, thanks for joining and supporting this idea.

We understand there are a few different use cases for why you'd like to attach a file to an asset within the Fixed Assets register, as well as transactions themselves.

To be upfront our team's current focus, like many areas of Xero, is on upgrading Fixed Asset technology, as we build greater consistency between Xero experiences, making it easier to learn and navigate Xero. Some of these changes may seem minor, but are critical in terms of delivering new and exciting value later on.

That being said, our team is researching what comes next and this is a focus because it is the most supported idea for Fixed Assets right now.

As we continue forming the future of Fixed Assets in Xero, we'll share if there’s any updates.

Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding the ability to split batch payments when reconciling, and understand it currently takes extra steps to reconcile when a single invoice among a batch has been paid, or when there are multiple payments to the same entity for different invoices.
Being transparent, we don’t have direct plans for making this change within the foreseeable future but if anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

Hi community, we understand your needs in this feature and want to assure you were taking on board all your feedback.

As many of you accustom to this idea will know, multiple addresses requires a complex solution. It's been something we’ve been moving towards for some time and we’ve done a lot of back end work that will allow us to bring it to you in the future.

We have 12 different products within Xero that rely on contact data, as well as many of our app partners. This means that contacts need to seamlessly flow across technology, products and all connections on Xero. And that’s exactly what we’ve been working on.

One of the reasons we announced the retirement of classic invoicing is because many of the features being asked for, just can’t be brought into classic invoicing. The old technology has too many technology limitations to enable this.…

Hi community, first off thank you for the continued interest and feedback surrounding this idea. We’re continuing to build on the bank reconciliation experience in Xero and recognise the ways this feature will help improve the efficiency, flexibility and transparency of transactions in your business. Our team have done a lot of exploration into being able to surface and match Credit Notes when reconciling your bank account in Xero, and this is now in development.

We’ll shift the idea here into ‘Working on it’ and continue to update as there’s more detail of this to share.

Thanks for your inputs, everyone. While we appreciate the interest around being able to view MTD VAT without needing to connect to the HMRC, this is not something that our team are looking to change at present. Xero currently requires a connection to HMRC to draw the period of the MTD VAT.

We'll keep a close eye on the appetite for this here, but for now we wanted to highlight options.

Currently, a client could export the MTD return and send it through to their advisor for review.
Alternatively, advisors can use the Non MTD VAT return to help them with the review process - This can be run and exported regardless of MTD credentials.

    • The return should be a mirror image of the MTD VAT return (unless adjustments / imports have been made to the MTD version) that'll also include any late claims for the period.

Hey everyone, appreciate that this idea's intent is to help save user's time in calculating the VAT, but I wanted to share that it is possible to record partial VAT exemptions, for those who aren't aware. We will continue to to track interest in this idea but in the meantime you can:

    1. Calculate your own your partial exemption adjustment amounts
    2. Enter them as VAT box adjustments on your non-MTD or MTD VAT return

Alternatively, if you use a set percentage adjustment you could do one of the following:

    • Add a custom Tax Rate for your % rate.
    • Adjust the VAT on each bill to the amount you can claim. Click the + next to the tax rate to do this. (You'll need to use the 'Amounts are' Tax Exclusive option to see it.)

We recommend you talk to your accounting advisor or HMRC if you need more help with this.
