Hi everyone, understand the confusion in some of the recent comments here. To explain how this works at present - A report will automatically default to portrait or landscape mode based on the width of the report. The more columns you add, Xero will automatically switch the layout from portrait to landscape mode.
The same report should not change from user to user, if you're finding this it may be worth checking your printer fit settings and if these differ.
We don't have plans for developing an option of whether a report prints in landscape or portrait mode atm, but our teams are across the interest of this, so if there's any change we'll share an update on this with you, here.

Hi everyone, thanks for the engagement and support on this idea. We recognise that having the option to display accounts in GL account number order when editing a reports layout would reduce the need to manually adjust the order of accounts.
We've reviewed your feedback, including the specific issues with grouping, and are moving this idea to Accepted. This reflects that the idea has not been included in our current roadmap but that this is an idea that we will continue to monitor.

Hi
Just minutes after voting for this and speaking with a xero agent, the functionality became available. thank you!But I would be grateful if you could make it so that when you group codes by account range, that they stay in nominal code order within that range

I couldn't agree more. I don't think I know of any accountant (or business owner) that would want their profit and loss items grouped alphabetically!
Kelly Munro - in answer to your question - all the profit and loss, budget variance, balance sheet and cash reports should have this option.
Sort by account code (meaning nominal code, general ledger code).

Current financial year by month – actual and budget
Use this report but able to select which period the actuals stop and the budget starts, so you can run the report on a back dated range, or before the latest period was completed.I.e. Financial year is Jan-Dec. If I run the report in April, it shows Jan-March actuals and April-Dec budget. It would be good to be able to select the date where the actuals stop and budget starts, so you can run a report in April (for example) and select Jan and Feb actuals, and March-Dec Budget.

Hi community, we acknowledge the strong feelings in this idea and why you need a feature to flag bills directly within Xero. We really appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this would help streamline your accounts payable.
We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills.
In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here:
- Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
- Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.
- Adjust the due date: Temporarily extending the due date can prevent accidental payment while the dispute is…

There are occasions when an approved bill to pay needs to be stopped for payment - there could be any number of scenarios this may occur.
Not having a function when you can hold or suspend a bill to pay or mark as disputed, or even hold a supplier contact is an issue in Xero

Hi everyone, we’ve been tracking this conversation and appreciate the insights you’ve shared around budgeting. We get how being able to sort budgets by General Ledger account number could streamline your workflow and help reflect the structure of your reports.
Currently, as you may know you can export budgets to a spreadsheet, and sort them outside Xero. But, we understand you'd prefer a solution directly in Xero.
We want to be transparent; this isn't currently in our roadmap. As we continue to monitor this space, we’ll update you here if anything changes.

I couldn't agree more. Same with designing the reports - it is unhelpful

Thanks for your passion and the detailed feedback on this idea, community. We can see how much time is spent manually consolidating tracking category budgets, and why having this roll-up automatically would make a big difference.
As noted by others in the thread, one option for now is to use a third-party app from the Xero App Store. Some in the community have mentioned tools like Spotlight Reporting or Budget Consolidator are great for this, and it’s a good way to get the insights you’re after.
While we understand the value this feature would add, it isn't on our immediate roadmap to build right now. We know that's not the news you're hoping for, but we want to be transparent about what's in our current focus - You can get a view of some of the changes coming in the next quarter through our website, The Long and Short of…

Hey everyone, we've been following the conversation closely and we want to acknowledge how important this is for many of you.
Atm, we’re on a long journey to provide more controls within Xero features that our customers need. Being such a broad idea that touches many areas of our platform, we’d like to encourage adding your votes to specific user permissions that matter most to you, such as:
- Bank Accounts: For more control over who can see bank account balances and access specific accounts, please see the idea here: User Role - Restrict access to individual bank accounts
- Sales and Invoicing: If you’d like to see changes to permissions around sales reporting and editing invoice templates, you can follow that conversation here: User roles: Restrict access to Invoice Settings
- Reports: To have your say on restricting access to specific reports, the relevant idea is here: User permissions - Assign user…

I would like to be able to stop some of the adviser users to be able to change COA, tax codes and Tracking categories. But I still want them to be able to close the period

Heya team, we're now actively testing how reports could be grouped and accessed, and we'd love your input in this, so we can design a better report grouping structure that supports role-based access in reporting.
Get involved! Complete a quick 15-min online activity to test how reports are grouped and accessed:
- Part 1: answer questions about the current report grouping
- Part 2: explores a new grouping and role-based report access
👉 If you're interested, please go through the link here.
Thanks again for your support and contributions to developing a solution that works best for majority of our customers!
(Just to note - If you’ve already gone through this activity, there's no need to do it again — our researchers may have contacted you earlier 😊)

Hi everyone, appreciate this idea has been in a state of Under review fro some time. While it was something our teams we're looking into, this work has had to be put down with other priorities that have transcended.
For now, we'll shift back to 'submitted' where we can continue to track appetite. We'll be sure to let you know if there's any change in this space. Thanks

The current Xero solution is to suggest users edit the system created BACS file and replace the Xero reference with the correct supplier reference.
For software that appears to be cutting edge, this Fraud risk is laughable. Very disappointed to see that this request is so old and it appears no action has been taken

It would be good if all reports where nominal codes and names were present had the default as starting in number order rather than alphabetical.
And it would be good if the budget manager had the number at the front like the USA version, and if they could also be in number order and not alphabetical.
thanks
