Currently updating the Contact details in the new window as provided does not actually bring the updated details back to the Invoice window, so extra clicks still required. This worked just fine in classic invoicing

Please adjust the new invoicing to bring in the actual contact email addresses from the Contact dynamically as they are at the time the Email button is clicked.

Currently with "new" invoicing even if they have been updated in a 2nd window while the invoice was created/approved it only brings in whatever details were saved in the contact at the time the invoice was created. This behaviour should be associated to the Email button, not creation of the invoice.

We often have to send a client invoice to multiple email addresses, however we can only add 1 email address to the Contact in the Invoice module. In Classic invoicing you can open the Contact in a new window, add the extra email addresses and when emailing the invoice it brings in the email addresses from the Contact.

New invoicing has lost this function.

Currently we either have to manually creating the Contact first before creating the invoice OR have to refresh the invoice window before emailing so the current contact emails are usable in the invoice module

It would also be of benefit if this was a widget on the Dashboard too reminding us of the due dates for Super payments and BAS/PAYG due dates too

There is a notification already but it's not in your face enough and you have to remember to check the notifications - most of them are useless notifications anyway.

Hi community, appreciate the want for more of an update from us on this highly voted idea. Since Kelly’s last message I am pleased to let you know that our product team has done some discovery work in this space. More specifically, exploring the different ways in which the problem could be solved in Xero, alongside understanding the technical challenges. The feedback you’ve shared has been really useful for our product team’s research 🙏

We recognise the importance of needing to know which bills are flagged, so people making payment can review whether a bill should be paid or not, to avoid inadvertent payment. Being able to improve this workflow is important to us and once we have solution concepts, we will be sure to reach out to this community for feedback.

Right now there are no specific time frames available as to when this might be worked on, but…

Hi community, we've released our first update to history and notes of new invoicing, where you can now view more detail of changes such as where an issue or due date has been altered or the amount of your invoice is changed. There's more improvements for this space coming soon and I'll keep you up to date with these, here.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your input on being able to add new tracking options while invoicing and our team are looking into improvements that could be made to this flow in new invoicing. I'll keep you looped in on any change for this here.

Currently can add a tracking code from the invoice module, but once this is has been created the new tracking code can't be selected, it only becomes available once the invoice window has been refreshed - making it moot. Have notified Xero Support with no positive outcome even though I provided a video of the exact issue. Just received a standard cut and paste reply / offer for a support call - neither of which will resolve their poor coding as the video clearly explains the issue.

Having to refresh or switch windows to accomplish basic tasks like adding a tracking code or client's email address is poor software design.

Thanks for all your feedback here, everyone. The way you add description only lines in new invoicing is a little different to classic and we wanted to explain in hopes it'll help with how you're using new invoicing.
When entering a description only line, you can enter text in the description field of the line. If you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you will need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
When an inventory item is added this uses the item code field and the line is treated as 'financial', so it's not possible to use inventory items as description only lines in new invoicing atm.
We appreciate this is how many of you here have been making use of inventory and our product team are closely monitoring the feedback we're getting on this. Though we don't…

Hi all, thanks for feeding back on the ways you work with invoicing and what you'd like to see with new invoicing in Xero.

Our team are reviewing the flow when copying an invoice and having the contact name automatically populate.

In the way this currently works, once you add a contact to the new(copied) invoice any defaults you've applied to a contacts record will then be applied to the invoice. This flow of default application is something the team will consider as part of their review and what works best for majority of users.

Not copying across the customer details is infuriating. Why did you decide to push forward with a broken system "new invoicing" when classic works just fine.

Agree regarding the unnecessary annoyingness of having to scroll to the bottom of the window and open up a small drop area rather than just being able to drop the file straight out of the Chrome downloads and in to the window area. The Chrome downloads recently got moved to the top bar instead of the bottom too.

Making basic tasks take an excessive amount of steps and time is bad business

Hi everyone, we assure you that our leadership and those that can make a difference to the new invoicing experience are aware of your comments and all the feedback of how we can improve this space for all our customers.
Product ideas here have been specifically designed so we can ensure we have a channel and are getting our customers feedback to the teams and people to consider, plan and prioritise change to impact and make a positive difference to our users experience in all our products. For example - every week all the feedback (every one of the comments) goes to the new invoicing team and has been read by leadership including our CPTO.

Individual personal details have been removed from commentary in this thread as it goes against part of our Community Guidelines.

There are really important reasons why we must go forward with sunsetting classic invoicing…
