  1. It would be great to have the ability to edit Headings in Business Snapshot in Analytics-Plus as I work for a charity and having commercial terms (such as profit and loss) are not really helpful in a Charity setting.

  2. BETTER WORKFLOW FOR QUOTES/DELIVERIES/INVOICING:
    If we could get the actual flow for how the paperwork per Job can be produced!

    1.I always start with a QUOTATION: this doesn't always need to be sent to a customer at all as it could be raised by way of a telephone conversation, etc,et. This is logged as a Job manually in a Workbook.
    2.If the customer agrees and some do use PO numbers then when we go to accept/confirm, this is when we need the ability to enter Their PO number or some other confirmation that can be proved, this may take the…

  4. When creating/editing an invoice with the new style, you can select fields to show/hide. We would like to be able to change these and set the changes as default - at the moment you have to go in and select the ones you would like to see every time you are editing an invoice. The main one for us is the discount column - we would like to see this on every invoice. Having this functionality to show/hide is good, but just don't want to change this every time.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback on the show/hide fields option. As you may have seen in other updates we're working on a new line item grid that will encompass a few enhancements we know our customers want to see, and will also include an improvement to the behaviour of the show/hide fields so the options you select will be retained. I'll come back to confirm when this is released.

  5. Having the option of when adding a purchase invoice which is for a hire purchase or a loan agreement, then Xero automatically removes the aged payable balance from the listing and posts to a Hire Purchase/Loan nominal code to avoid having HPs/Loans in the payable listings - I know that this is a feature that other accounting systems have, such as FreeAgent.

    I know it's been some time since you first started this idea, Harry. There's been lots of discussions from other users on Xero Central about recording Hire purchase transactions, and if you're using Xero's Fixed Assets you'll find steps on how to do this in our article here.

    There's no logic in Xero to automatically detect where a transactions is for hire purchase or a loan, however if you've set up a liability account that you can record these sort of transactions to, it's a simple process of choosing this account when recording the transaction in Xero.

    Tbh we don't have any immediate plans for changing how this works in Xero for the short term.

  6. To allow default settings for individual invoice templates. For example rather than set a default due date or currency for ALL invoices, allow individual invoice templates to be set there own due date timeframes , ie 7 days or immediate payment terms and also the same for currency.

    The more standardised we can make our templates, the less likelihood of user error.

  7. If you receive a lot of payments on the same day (20th of the months) would be useful to select the paid invoices all at once and send the receipt to all clients at the same time rather than have to open every single transaction and send the receipts individually

    Alternatively could be a feature on invoices were you choose to send receipt automatically upon payment received.

  8. Capture energy usage data such as electricity kwH and gas MJ, or actual CO2 emissions when inputting utility bills. This would be beneficial for SMEs who may need to calculate carbon emissions - increasingly being asked for this by larger clients with net zero targets and/or are calculating their Scope 3 emissions.

  9. I would love to see a newer updated "look" similar to what Freshbooks or Quickbooks Online has. They have a very streamlined look. I like how they have the tabs on the side that say "invoice" and "expenses" without having to go through the dropdown menus.

    Hi team, while not a solve for an updated 'look' of the dashboard we wanted to make sure everyone on this idea was aware of some of the shortcuts that can help you get around and create transactions from many screens. 

    The '+' icon next to Search in the blue banner enables you to create a range of different document types, similarly there are shortcuts that can be entered in Search from the blue navigation bar that will take you to different features such as bank accounts, the files library or reports.   10. 50 characters is often insufficient to identify separate products in (particularly) technical book names or descriptions especially where there are different versions of the same book (hard/soft covers, multiple language versions)

Hi i can't believe you don't have a POS app tablets for use in cafes and shops. a quick google api for databasing while offline and it would be solid as. you only need to support a handful of thermal printers and cash draws. just look what vend is doing. it would be a huge product if deployed correctly

    Hi Douglas, while we don't have a POS app ourselves you'll find Xero integrates with many different POS solutions, including Vend. You can explore the range of these on our App store

    We don't have any immediate plans for expanding into this area atm, but we'll keep tracking the interest of this here and share if there's any plans made. Thanks

  13. The Xero API will let you send an invoice by email - https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices/#emailing-an-invoice

    There is no equivalent functionality for Quotes, each needs to be send manually. This endpoint should be added in as well.

  14. in Recurring invoices, placeholders are essential to accurate and meaningful descriptions. Placeholders seem to currently only offer Week, Month & Year but not ‘Day’ or [DATE] or [TODAY]. (with the usual +/- feature). This would be hugely helpful for recurring daily or weekly invoices or for communicating a relevant billing period on a Monthly invoice (that differs from calendar months or calendar weeks) without having to manually update the date in description of every Repeated invoice. Currently more work is required and ALL repeating invoices need manual intervention before approval whereas if this could be automated Bills could be automatically…

  15. Including the AUTO lookup feature for sales tax in the Mobile App would make the product usability much better in states such as Colorado. To create invoices at "pop-up" events in various tax jurisdictions is crucial so you don't have to remember to continuously load new rates for complex destination /home-room rule situations. The "usability" of the app would be increased rather than being tethered to a computer to manage.

  16. Deposits on Sales and Purchases - will this ever be possible in Xero? The workarounds are fine if you have a few deposits to keep track of. But what if you have many? Like my Art Gallery client where most art is sold on a 'layby' system. The layby isn't recorded as a sale until it is fully paid. The customer makes multiple payments. There is no way to directly link the payments to a pending sale. They all coded on-mass into a prepayment liability account. The only way to keep track of payments is a spreadsheet which is time…

  18. I'd like the ability to remove the "Forwarded Bill" note from the Reference field on the Bills tabs.

    Purpose: to make the data on these tabs easier to view. All of our bills are input via the Email Bill to Xero functionality - this note therefore appears on every single bill and is not only redundant but makes the actual references / invoice numbers harder to read.

  19. To have the Xero Fx rate populate automatically, show up as a suggestion, or be able to be selected via drop-down list within the Payments screen when Fx is involved. Currently you have to open a new tab, go to settings/currency, enter you date and then copy/paste the Fx rate.

  20. Set a particular contact field (e.g. account number) as a mandatory field, so that an invoice cannot be issued without that field having been added to the customer account.
