  1. In Xero Payroll, it would greatly improve efficiency if the "Save & Next" button appeared at the top of the employee pay details screen, not just at the bottom.

    For businesses with detailed pay setups (multiple earnings lines, deductions, reimbursements, etc.), scrolling to the bottom of every employee’s pay screen just to click "Save & Next" is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.

    Adding this button to the top would:

    • Streamline navigation during pay runs

    • Reduce unnecessary scrolling

    • Improve accessibility for users reviewing multiple employee pays in one session

    This small UI change would make a big difference for payroll…

    Hi community, appreciate your sharing in community here. Atm if you're wanting to change the payment date for an unscheduled pay run, you can edit the payment date while the pay run is in draft status. We don't have any plans for automating this.

  4. Remove the feature of 'Other Previous Earnings', or an option of allowing us to choose whether to have this feature. Grouping all previous pay items into 'Other Previous Earnings' in the same financial year is confusing and our employees won't understand what it is for. Please get rid of it!

    Hi community we appreciate your interest and sharing how we could improve payroll for your business. Each regions payroll has been designed and built separately to meet regional requirements, and taking this into consideration development for being able to view future leave balances would also be worked on separately.

    We have an separate ideas that have been started for this in the AU version, another for NZ payroll, and I'll adjust the title of this idea for UK specifically. We will keep you updated on any progress of this on these ideas.

    I'd highly encourage adding your vote to the relative idea based on the region of payroll you use. Thanks

  6. Please update to have the option of removing salary hours on payslips.
    We just need the Gross Salary for that line and not the hours.
    When we have employees working accross different days of the week Xero Payroll round the hours and so in our example someone on 100 hours working 11 days per fortnight, Xero Payroll rounds the Salary Hours to 99.9999 on the payslip which is close but not correct. Currently no workaround for this.

  7. As a Chartered Accountant, I’ve observed an issue in Xero’s handling of sick leave entitlements that I believe warrants improvement. Currently, if an employee is not included in the pay run closest to their sick leave entitlement date, the entitlement does not accrue. This creates a significant gap in compliance with employment obligations and adds unnecessary administrative burden to correct.
    To enhance the functionality and flexibility of Xero's payroll system, I think that sick leave entitlements should automatically accrue when the employee is included in any future pay run following their entitlement date. This adjustment would ensure compliance with employment…

    Thanks for your feedback of how Xero handles sick leave entitlements, Natalee.

    I've made sure this is shared back with our product team, and while we can understand the reason for change you'd like to see here, we want to be open that this isn't something we have planned in the immediate future.

    Right now, if an employee isn't included in the scheduled pay run when their leave anniversary date falls, you'll need to do a manual leave adjustment to grant the employee the missed entitlement.

  8. My EOM reports include PL, BS, Receivables AND payroll. Management report doesn't allow payroll reports to be added. Please allow this to be added to minimise time generating additional reports.

  9. Please can Xero add an Employee 'Known As' Name Field to the Employee Record, and show this alongside the legal name, on the Employees Homepage (& when running payroll) with the ability to sort alphabetically by this 'known as' name in both places.
    Nearly half of our employees go by names that are not their legal name. e.g. Annie = Kit Yee, Kate = Catherine, or go by their middle name instead of their first name.

    This issue is making running payroll ever more difficult and the potential for error incredibly high, as often the legal name bears no resemblance…

  11. It would be great if Xero Payroll could produce a Monthly P30 report which we can send to our clients with HMRC bank details and the Accounts reference, with the month reference on the end.
    Other payroll software do this and it is really helpful for our clients.

  12. When calculating annual leave the ordinary hours changes to include allowances. The loading is then based on this figure. However the allowances are still included as separate lines on the pay template and need to be removed manually. Can this be automated as it needs to be done manually for all employees for every annual leave period?
    I can opt not to include allowances in the calculation, but it makes sense to gross up allowances in the ordinary rate for this purpose.

  15. Please remove the requirement to have a date of birth for an employee.
    We have been asking for this to be removed for years, Xero recently told us it was an IRD requirement. We contacted our account manager at Inland Revenue and they said it is not an IRD requirement and that they have been in contact with Xero Payroll to make the field non-compulsory.

    The workaround that Xero gives of adding a made up date does not work and causes issues where IRD send letters that the date of birth does not match that client.

  17. At the moment, if an employee allocates their hours to the wrong cost centre (i.e. the incorrect Xero tracking category) and the payroll has already been posted, there’s no way to correct the allocation — even if the pay run hasn’t yet been submitted to the ATO.

    This becomes problematic for organisations like ours that rely on accurate tracking of labour costs by project or cost centre. In most cases, the number of hours worked remains correct — it’s just the cost centre allocation that needs fixing.

  18. Can we please add a company logo on the payslip email?

    At the moment it just has the 'Xero me' background saying "your payslip is attached" ect. It would be nice to be able to swap that image with our company logo thanks.

  19. It would assist us if the Leave Accrued Report could also show the employee's start date. Long Service Leave is only applicable to staff from the 5 or 10 year mark for us in NSW but to ascertain whether staff are eligible for it is requiring external spreadsheets that have to be manually adjusted each month. Xero already has the functionality to enable this so it can't be hard to action.

  20. AU - Compulsory Employee Super When a Employee Superfund changes ABN, USI number, merges with another fund.

    The only solution at moment is to export the employee data into a file and save it. Then deactivate the Superfund. The problem is if you have a query on these past transactions you cannot do it through Xero. If you a subjected to an audit you cannot generate report for the data prior to the date of the changes made to the super fund. If you have been through an audit this creates a lot of work.
