  1. I would like to be able to have a link to click that takes you back to the project that the invoice was created from. There is a note to say what project it was but I have to go to projects and find the project, I would love for this note to be a direct link to the project.

  2. Have tax rates added to Pay Items and or a way to add employee tax rate to unscheduled pay runs so you don't have to edit tax rate when processing.

    This will ensure correct tax rate is applied to all employees every time a pay is processed, whether is a normal pay run and or unscheduled pay (bonus etc)

  3. The option to select up to four specific dates per year to generate invoices. The every 3 month option doesn't allow for office closure periods during holiday breaks and at least one of every 4 invoices per year is at an inopportune time.

  4. It still seems absolutely staggering that you can't add a column to the payable invoice summary report showing to which customer each invoice has been billed.

    It would then be very easy to scan down and see if any invoices which should have been billed out haven't been.

    Missing assigning an invoice to a customer is a major area of financial risk and it's so easy to do on Xero and no way to easily check.

    Many people are unhappy about this and surely the big concerns and risk areas should be a priority? A business could easily lose tens…

  5. As an accounts practice, we are looking to reconcile bank in timely manner, and not particularly concerned about supplier payment allocations against particular invoices. Therefore we would like to see cash coding option for Advisor to allocate purchase invoice payments against supplier account as overpayment, as we would be reconciling supplier balances after bank is all allocated. We would then reconcile overpayments in each individual supplier account.

  6. Please can you add an additional account under expense type in the chart of accounts for corporation tax?
    One which will automatically post to the profit & loss in between 'Profit on Ordinary Activities Before Taxation' and 'Profit after Taxation'.
    The default setting of overhead and having it in with bank fees etc is frustrating.

  7. As with the financial side in Xero and their history and notes section, it would be very useful to be able to track who has approved leave or timesheets in Xero Payroll. We need site on which manager has approved the leave application or timesheet to mitigate any risk of the wrong people approving these.

  8. Show the total amount of Domestic Reverse Charge VAT on an invoice, to make it clear to the customer what is due by them.

    It is not necessary to show the VAT amount on each line, when it is the same for the whole invoice.
    While Xero may be compliant with HMRC, it is not right for businesses who are being repeatedly asked for this information to be shown on invoices. It would be a simple fix for Xero as the functionality is already in place.

    This is on a discussion thread with plenty of users requesting the same thing.

Invoices that are automatically deducted from your bank account will be shown as awaiting payment as long as they are not paid, but should be clearly distinguishable from invoices that you still need to pay, i.e. take action on. This way you have an accurate overview of your account balance, expected payments, and actions you need to take.

    Hi Brittany, not getting a lot of traction in community overtime, and not something we have planned we'll soon remove your idea for the forum here.

    Right now, depending on your needs you may find that you could use one of Xero's reports to search and find the accounts and details of what you're after here such as the General Ledger Detail or Summary reports.

  11. We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact).   12. New reports - enable data capture in links

    Currently - if you select a specific date range or filter and then link to this report, that data is lost and upon clicking the link you get the default report and have to reselect the data.

    It would be useful and time saving to enable the link to capture that data - the same as the old versions of the reports

    Existing lock practise lock until mar23.
    If i want to do amendment on feb23, i need to unlock mar23 and feb23, then i can do amendment on feb23.

    Thanks for confirming, Andy - Really appreciate the screenshot. 🙂

    I've checked in with our Payroll team where this detail is saved.
    We appreciate wanting more options for gender when entering personal details, and in some regions such as AU & NZ this is optional.
    Currently, in order to ensure successful payroll filings with HMRC in the UK, we need to match the schema they provide. That said, our team are reassessing how this fits in Xero so I'll shift this Idea to 'under review' and can share any updates that come.

  15. Instead of delete - can we lock tracking category - for our business - this is very critical if we post any transaction accidentally as we have more than 200 in tracking - any solution for this

  16. In the Bank Statement report it would be extremely helpful to have an additional column/option to view the Customer or Suppliers contact name that the transaction has been reconciled to.

    We have a lot of invoices for the same amount and depending on who is reconciling, they can be matched to the incorrect customer.
    A report showing the contact would help pick up anomalies, rather then after sending statements wait for a disgruntled customer to notify us that a payment has been made when we have reconciled it to another customer.

    Perhaps the Account Transactions report would be of help to you here, Tracy? You can adjust the report to add related account and Contact columns so you could see which account a payment came from as well as the contact it was assigned too. 

  17. The ability to change auto enrolment percentages when a new staff member first is assessed and paid. A staff member has negotiated a higher employer percentage and I know we can change it once this has been added to the payslip going forward but at the time they are assessed and going to be included in the first pay run as well as a popup which lets you postpone them it would be good to also get the option to edit their pension percentages at the same time.   19. Some xero reports can be run by last month, last quarter, last financial year etc. The above report can only be run by entering specific dates. Could this report have the same pre set date options added? This would be useful for client query lists for monthly/ quarterly BAS Returns, annual accounts/ tax returns etc

  20. When adding a bank rule is it possable to change
    No 5 Add rule details to deault to "all accounts" rather than the account you are currently in
    A rule set up for fuel will be the same allocation no matter what bank account you are in

    Hi Greg, while there's no way to set your own defaults for Bank Rules in Xero. 

    The existing default will differ depending on where you start the Create rule flow. 

    • If you're in the process of reconciling your account (via the Reconcile screen or Cash coding) the default for '5. Add rule details > Run this rule on' is the bank account you were reconciling
    • On the other-hand if you Create rule from the Bank rules screen, this'll default to 'All bank accounts'

    While this isn't something we have plans for at present. Appreciate how you'd like to set up a default regardless of where you start this and have adjust the title of your idea, here and we'll keep an eye on the support for this.
