  1. Multiple contacts on a Project. Projects can currenlty only be built and linked to 1 contact at a time. However. in terms of training and events where there could be multiple contacts linked this is an issue. If Xero could add the option for multiple contacts this would be great. It would save all my issues in terms of tracking a job.

    Hi Megan, when your talk about the training and events could you explain a bit more of your business flow when using Projects? 

    Atm, you can create bills and invoices for different contacts and associated these transactions with a single project.

  4. Change the Alternate Holiday accrual to days not hours. Legally when someone works on a statutory holiday they get to accrue 1 days alternate holiday, which is the hours that they would normally work when they take the day off, not the hours they worked on the stat day. It's misleading putting in hours instead of days, especially if every day if not an 8 hour day. Reports need to be run every time an Alternate Holiday is taken to ensure they still have that day available.

    Hi Mandy, this is something our team are working on at present.

    Currently, any new businesses that have started using Xero Payroll from 5 August 2024 will have the ability to set up employee leave entitlements to show alternate holiday leave in days. While we're still working on changes to enable this for existing organisations we'll keep you updated of when this is made available here.

  5. It will be very useful for reporting if we are able to change the layout of Timesheet Details from a week ending to fortnightly while also able to choose the start date and end date without the dates with zero hours.

  6. Under current simplified depreciation rules, small businesses deduct the balance of the small business pool at the end of the income year if the balance at that time (before applying the depreciation deductions) is less than the instant asset write-off threshold.

    Currently Xero's pool does not apply this rule & continues depreciating at 30%. It would be great to have a product update so the correct application of current tax rules applys to the pooling system in Xero.

    Appreciate the traction this idea's gained - Thanks for your support, everyone.

    Our Fixed Asset product team are working on upgrades to Fixed Assets platform and updating technology - Read more on this broader work on Xero Central

    We understand how having an automated control to recognise and apply a write-off for general pooled assets where the balance is beneath the threshold would be useful, this is not in our roadmap right now.

    That said, they have a close eye on ideas for Fixed Assets for when the time's right - we'll share any change on the idea, here.

  7. in Recurring invoices, placeholders are essential to accurate and meaningful descriptions. Placeholders seem to currently only offer Week, Month & Year but not ‘Day’ or [DATE] or [TODAY]. (with the usual +/- feature). This would be hugely helpful for recurring daily or weekly invoices or for communicating a relevant billing period on a Monthly invoice (that differs from calendar months or calendar weeks) without having to manually update the date in description of every Repeated invoice. Currently more work is required and ALL repeating invoices need manual intervention before approval whereas if this could be automated Bills could be automatically…

  9. We run a music festival of 10 concerts. Each concert is set up as a tracking category. It would be great to spread the direct and admin costs across evenly acoss all 10 concerts in a way that doesn't involve entering each invoice across 10 lines.

  11. Fault on new contact page - when an invoice is paid using an overpayment is show £0 in the amount paid column! If an invoice is ONLY paid with an overpayment it therefore shows £0 paid £0 due. It should show the full amount paid by any payment method.

We sell software from various vendors and many have rules relating to how their products are sold e.g. "Must include min of one license of X before customer can order any licenses of "Y" OR "Software Maintenance should be ordered with the licenses, otherwise it is ordered as a "Maintenance Upgrade" (with different pricing), and many other examples.

    Updating these each time a new price list is issued must be done manually as Notes cannot be imported or exported making it very tedious.

    Also, with Notes being at the bottom of the screen and needing to be expanded to see…

  13. I have around 100 billable expenses each month, I click on the 'Billable' in Expensify and that comes through to xero, but there are many that need to be entered into xero directly.
    We need a report showing unbilled expenses where we can click on the items to mark them as billable in bulk, rather than line by line, which takes up a lot of time.

  14. We need a way for Xero to know that there was a chargeback on an invoice through GoCardless so that the payment applied against the Xero invoice is removed.

    There have been instances where a customer's bank did not accept the charge made against the bank account and GoCardless charged us back for the invoice. We didn't collect the payment, but Xero still has the invoice marked as paid. When reconciling AR this month, there was a few invoices that were charged back but were still showing paid.

  15. I'd like the ability to remove the "Forwarded Bill" note from the Reference field on the Bills tabs.

    Purpose: to make the data on these tabs easier to view. All of our bills are input via the Email Bill to Xero functionality - this note therefore appears on every single bill and is not only redundant but makes the actual references / invoice numbers harder to read.

  17. It would be great to have read-only access to payroll - all of it - for auditors.
    They need access to the staff files, the individual transactions and the reports - as they have with the rest of the business.

  19. Currently you can put titles and notes etc on quotes and invoices etc. However the client does not see any of this. This is critical to be able to add notes etc that don't belong on a line item

It would be great to see an option of being able to highlight in red or yellow a particular line on your sales invoice for the client to specifically take note of, because at the moment when I add a note for clients to see I write it in capitals but it still gets ignored. Whereas if it was highlighted they may take more notice of it.
