  1. Add an option to import a single column with positive and negative values, or 2 columns with debits and credits would be a massive help. I've attached how Zoho handles this.

  3. There should be a way to remove unnecessary motivational responses like "Great Job!" when finishing a bank reconciliation.

    I do the bank reconciliation every day and don't consider the task difficult or special, so the "Great Job!" just seems patronising. A simple "You've reconciled all the transactions for this account" is all that is necessary for a business application like Xero. Some people might like it but I'd prefer my accounting software to not pretend to have a personality like that.

Currently, due to the lack of an approval option for a quote (which is a different product idea), I will need to provide the quote creator the right to send quotes directly to customer without reviewing (to avoid having another user to have to login, after being notified per email/whatsapp about the draft created, to review the drafted quote and send to client - very inefficient process). Once I provide an user the right to send quotes, they also have the immediate right to send sale invoices although the approval for a invoice is a non-negotiable. It creates the risk…

  5. Re Xero analytics - AI uses the previous 3 months data to project data. In seasonal industries like agriculture or tourism, that is irrelevant. It would be much more useful to base projections on the same period 12 months ago.

    Is there a specific inventory report you'd find this most useful in? 

    Being open we don't have immediate plans for adding this filter into the reports, but it'd be good to get this detail that could be shared back with the team when considered. 

  8. Expenses - Clone or Copy an Existing Expense

    My team have asked if we can make a 'copy to new Expense feature' from an existing Expense. Most of the expenses they enter are similar and just have a different amount and different receipt image. It would save them a lot of time if they could clone an existing Expense. Thank you.

  10. Manual Journal - Copy details from line above- this is a tool in Sage so please could you consider it? :) it's a nifty action & allows a one click solution to repeat account & tracking categories and is especially useful for large entries such as payroll journals.

  11. When calculating Leasehold Improvements as a Fixed Asset, the term is often not whole months even when using days it still does not calculate correctly for example we need to use 2.67 years to reconcile to our workbook.

  12. If Xero or a partner organisation should encounter issues which may lead to data integrity issues, we should receive an email alert or some kind of notification.
    e.g. issues with Bank Feeds whereby there are duplicate or missing transactions. This has occurred a few times and we have only discovered, retrospectively, about the issue.

    We don't use Xero each day and certainly don't visit the Status page every day, such issues may well not come to light... by the time we visit the Status page a problem is quite likely to have been resolved and the status shows as OK,…

    Hi everyone, while not an alert as such, currently we're looking into enabling customers the ability to send us an alert if you're having trouble with a bank account feed in your organisation. This'd help us quickly identify issues with a particular feed. I'll round back to share more as this shapes out.

  13. VAT201 Report (ZA) - A SARS requirement is to have sequential invoice numbers. The invoice numbers are not displayed on the VAT201 report, only the customer reference number, if there is no reference number, then the customer invoice number is displayed. Can we please have a column for the customer invoice number or only have the customer invoice number listed.

  14. Exchange Rate - Allow more than 6 decimal places.

    For conversions from smaller currencies (e.g. 1 KRW = 0.00071 USD), users need the ability to place more than 6 decimal places in order to get the exact currency conversion for the transaction. QuickBooks allows this so I don't see why Xero can't implement it as well.

    Xero Central suggested that I make adjustment entries in my Realised Currency Gains account and I find it ridiculous to have to do it than just being allowed to input exact numbers in my original transactions.

  16. When importing bills from a csv file, Xero will currently treat all lines with the same invoice number as one transaction, even if the separate lines are from different suppliers. The system should ideally not ignore the fact that the supplier name is not the same. Would be good to assume that the bill is posted against the correct supplier, even if it happens to have the same invoice number as another supplier's invoice.

  17. Custom reports- why there such a large gap of blank wasted space between the account names and the first column!! We create month x month reports ie 12 months of columns wide, so it is very frustrating when you create a PDF with all those columns on it and there is that great wasted space before the first column!!!

  18. Currently, Xero offers an excellent feature enabling us to view notes and actions related to invoices and transactions. However, I think it would be highly beneficial if we could also access a detailed history of changes made to reports, such as budget manager reports and GST. Recently, I've encountered instances where my final GST reports were inexplicably reverted back to draft status. This unexpected behavior has resulted in confusion and inefficiencies within our financial management process. Regrettably, I have been unable to identify the responsible party behind these changes, leaving me puzzled and concerned about the security of our data.

  20. See who was selected as an approver by employees. If we have been selected as an approver by the employee, it is currently impossible to know if they also selected their appropriate approver to know if we should reject the timesheet or leave or if we can wait for the appropriate approver to approve the timesheet or leave.
